Chapter 66

PIERRE POV

Morning came sooner than I had hoped, and panic swept across my tongue like gravel when my hand came in contact with an empty, ice-cold pillow.

My mind had registered for something alive and warm, not the cold that stabbed through my palm and permeated through the haze of sleep.

I shot out of bed, eyes snapped wide, and pulse thrumming frantically on the sides of my head. My tongue wrung dry, and tears burned the back of my eyes as they threatened to spill.

Sebastian was many things. He was a jealous lover, a possessive partner who enjoyed domination. He was everything bundled up in perfection and paleness, but he was not the kind to leave me all by myself.

And the realization warmed my insides like sun rays on piles of snow.

I charged towards the kitchen with my heart hammering painfully against my chest. I was just about to round the corner when I was greeted by the fresh scent of pancakes and strawberries.
