I'm not going to miss it.

The Footsteps, a ringing through the parking lot, each step a bitter warning that peril was nearing. Aria's breath was snagged, her throat constraining as the steps echoed louder, more frantic and gaining speed. Her heart pounding and was going to burst out of her ribcage. Someone was closing in and moving at increased speed.

She did not move. She could not. Her legs were jammed, frozen with terror, her eyes glued to the corner where the noise originated from.

And then—silent.

Likewise, the footsteps stopped. The corridor was left with total silence.

Her breath panted in and out quickly as she struggled to hear carefully. Quiet. No step. No breath. No sound of garments brushing against the walls. And then, most inexplicably, the footsteps began to recede. Slowly. Cautiously. It was so abrupt, as if the person approaching decided otherwise, or worse still, was playing with her, teasing the fear already engendered.

As if from the crashing wave, relief was

Fractures in the Flame. The world didn’t sleep after Daniel’s public claim. Social media spiraled into chaos. Hashtags like #StolenWife, #GrantScandal, and #JerryExposed trended within hours.Inside Grant Tower’s war room, the core team gathered under dim lighting, each face tense with the weight of an impending battle.“We need to control the narrative,” Isabelle began. “Daniel isn’t just rewriting history, he’s weaponizing it.”Jerry’s eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep. “He’s more than a tech genius. He’s become a tactician. This isn’t about the company. It’s about destabilizing Aria from the inside out.”“I won’t let him,” Aria said sharply.Everyone turned to her.She looked every inch the queen Daniel underestimated, black suit, hair pulled back, no emotion, only focus.“Jerry, initiate our protocol. Helena, I want every line of Daniel’s financials tracked, past, offshore, crypto wallets. I don’t care how encrypted it is.”Helena nodded. “Already scrubbing.”“Isabelle, asse

The Public Strike.Rain streaked the glass panels of the London Citadel Conference Center. A massive press briefing was underway, attended by tech moguls, board executives, and international media. No one had expected Daniel to take the stage again—yet there he was, poised in front of the Lucent Global logo, eyes laced with chaos, gleaming with confidence. Click, sounds and light from the camera filled the whole room as the tension builds up. Daniel’s voice cut through it all, steady and theatrical.“Thank you for being here. I’ve returned not only as a founder, but as a man betrayed. Betrayed by those closest to me.”He paused, letting the silence stretch.“As many of you know, my wife—Aria Westwood—and I never filed for divorce. We’re still legally bound. Yet in my absence, she has engaged in a highly questionable relationship with Jerry, the very man who inserted himself into my company, my board, and now… my marriage.”Journalist attentive to every single sounds in order to get

Ashes and Answers.Smoke still curled from the ruined core chamber behind them as Aria led the team through the narrow maintenance shaft, every footstep laced with adrenaline and urgency.Helena stumbled, catching herself on the damp metal wall. Jerry grabbed her arm, steadying her.“You okay?”“I will be,” she muttered. “But Argos…”“I know,” Jerry said, his voice tight. “We’ll mourn later. Right now, we move.”Philip’s voice crackled through the comms. “Evac route clear. Team Two already topside.”Aria stopped at a junction. “We’ve lost our edge. Argos was our tracker. Without it, Daniel’s invisible again.”“We don’t need Argos to find him,” Helena said, chest heaving. “I do.”Aria narrowed her eyes. “What do you mean?”Helena pulled out a chip from her inner suit pocket. “Before I left him, I installed a parallel tracer in his neural link. It was dormant. Until Argos activated Chaos Code. Now, if he moves… I can feel it.”“Why didn’t you say this earlier?” Jerry demanded.“Because

The Descent.Dawn broke not with light, but with fog. Heavy and unmoving, it settled over the landing strip where Aria, Jerry, Helena, Isabelle, and Echo Team stood, dressed in matte-black combat gear.No one spoke. Each carried only what they needed, compressed pulse rifles, neural inhibitors, and embedded comms. Argos, now deployed through a custom bipedal drone with sleek silver plating and glowing cyan optics, hovered silently behind them.Helena adjusted her gloves, her gaze distant.“You don’t have to prove yourself,” Aria said, strapping on her thigh-holster.Helena’s voice was low. “I’m not proving anything. I’m finishing what I helped start.”The transport jet roared to life.Destination: Geneva’s underground.~~*~~The descent into the city’s hidden underbelly took them through abandoned metro tunnels, shielded from satellites and scans. Argos led, rerouting every surveillance camera, every heartbeat sensor, every pulse of electric current that could reveal their presence.

Shadows and Shrapnel.Silence didn’t last long at Grant Tower.Barely a day had passed since the AI Argos identified Daniel as its primary target when an alarm split through the command floor. Red sirens pulsed. Doors sealed. Lights dimmed.Isabelle's voice cut through the room. “Massive data breach attempt. Origin: unknown. Layered encryption, unlike anything we've ever seen.”Jerry, already at the console, typed furiously. “It’s not just a breach. It’s a probe. Daniel’s testing Argos.”Philip stepped forward. “If Argos fails…”“He won’t,” Aria snapped. “Run the counter-stream.”The monitors flared to life. Argos, coded to think like Daniel, was now in a real-time battle with his former master. The AI pulsed code across the mainframe, simulated personalities, counter-malware, shifting encryption webs. Each second felt like a heartbeat at war.“Argos is holding,” Isabelle muttered. “But barely.”Suddenly, the feed blinked. One word flooded the screen.INTRUSION CONTAINED.Everyone ex

The Ties That Burn. The rain over London was relentless, like the sky itself could sense something dreadful stirring beneath the calm. Inside the deepest wing of Grant Tower’s sub-basement, rows of black servers blinked in rhythmic sequence, the pulse of a ghost no one could trace.Argos had been born.Aria stood at the central command module, her reflection flickering against the glass interface. Her eyes, once sharp with vengeance, were now wired with unrelenting focus.“Status?” she asked.Isabelle’s fingers danced across her keyboard. “Argos is stabilizing. Initial behavioral matrix is holding. And it’s already tracing patterns we missed.”Jerry entered, tossing a small encrypted drive onto the table. “That’s everything we salvaged from the TitanNet breach. Whatever Daniel injected, it’s replicating.”Josh stepped forward, brows furrowed. “Replicating how?”Jerry answered. “It’s not spreading in the system. It’s spreading to people.”Aria turned sharply. “Explain.”“After Daniel'
