Chapter 50 My Mate No More

I wiped my eyes and sat the letter down.

"I'm too late. I should have suggested it when Noah was still here," I said softly and told Rune thanks for the food but I no longer wished to eat. I placed the tray by my feet and rolled to my side facing away from them both. I heard Rune's low growling and him telling Morgana to leave us. The door closed and I peeked back over my shoulder to see him cutting the steak up into bite-size pieces. I turned back around and asked what he was doing.

"What does it look like?" He asked. He speared a piece of steak and held it near my mouth.

"Eat Raven, we are all worried about you. Your sons keep asking for you. I've stepped in and I'm teaching them how to be men but they need their mother," he said sternly as I bit the piece off the fork.

"Why do you care, Rune?" I asked curiously and inhaled deeply when his yellow eyes glowed up at me.

"I'm doing this for my half-brother who couldn't stop talking about you after he met you at Lucifer's," he said st
