"This is my best friend Joel. Joel, say hi to Ami. I kind of got in her way, so I asked her to join us". Connor introduced them.
Amelia thought Joel looked like someone she had seen before, he had that kind of face you didn't easily forget. She grabbed his hand. "Hi Joel, I hope it is okay for me to join you".
"Hi Ami, great to meet you, and of course only happy to have something more pretty than this one to look at". He said grinning at Connor.
She sat down on the bench across from Joel and Connor slid in beside her, he had to angle himself towards her to make room for his long legs.
He looked at Joel with a smirk. "Oh Joel, you were going to get us drinks weren't you ?"
"Well I guess I was". Joel said and shook his head slightly as he got up, he looked at Amelia. "And what does the lady want ?"
"An apple pie thanks". She said smiling. If she had to drink, she preferred sweet, not too strong drinks.
Connor looked at her, his head slightly tilted to one side. "I never heard of that one, let me get one too, Joel".
Joel ventured to the bar, and Connor checked his phone as he had just gotten a text. She glanced at him, she had to admit she found him very attractive, and it wasn’t just that he was incredibly hot, it was like something drawing her. She couldn’t help wondering what they were doing there, he definitely didn't look like the men she normally ran into.
"Where are you from by the way ? And what are you doing in Denmark ?" Amelia asked when he put his phone away.
He looked like he was thinking hard about what to say. "We are originally from Texas, but live in LA. Joel is here for work and I am just kind of tacking along. I had some holiday and I had never seen Denmark".
"I was guessing America from your accent, Texas.. LA ? Well then you are used to better weather I guess". She said.
She noticed that his hands were constantly moving, when he was talking they were moving animated or else fiddling with something, like he needed them focused on something not to have them… What ? Why did she have a feeling he wanted to do something that he was not allowing himself to do ?
He smiled. "Yeah, you can say that".
"I hope it is okay to ask, but Joel looks kind of familiar, what kind of work is he here for ?" She couldn't help but ask.
Connor glanced at Joel, who had finally got a hold of the bartender. "It's fine, actually I am surprised no one has recognised him yet. He is an actor, probably that's why you think he looks familiar".
"Oh my God, now when you say it, he was in ‘Bones and moons’ right ? And that ‘Lost cases’ movie ?" It had just dawned on her who he was, he was just one of those actors where most people knew his face but never could remember the name.
Connor nodded. "Yes exactly, just please don't make a big deal out of it, he gets a little shy if people fuss about it and we don't want everyone else catching on".
"Of course, no problem, it can't always be fun to have people recognising you, it must be kind of a downer for you too. I mean at home he must get recognised all the time, don't you feel kind of overlooked sometimes ?" She said.
Connor smiled looking amused. "Well, you get used to it, we have been friends for a long time.. We belonged to the same pack when we grew up".
"Here you go ladies". Joel said with a shit eating grin, putting their drinks in front of them, he had gotten a beer for himself.
Connor glared at him with an insulted expression and then chuckled. "Mature, so very mature Joel".
"What do you do Ami ? When you are not here having fun ?" Joel looked at her with friendly interest.
She suddenly felt a bit star struck, he was a movie star and everything, how could she just talk to him like he was just someone normal ? But then she pushed the feeling away, he was after all just a human.
She smiled. "I am working as a waitress, not very exciting, the tips are good though, but that is not what I really want to do".
"What do you want to do then ? If I may ask". Connor looked at her curiously and she felt locked in his eyes, eyes that seemed to change colour depending on the light hitting them.
She blushed and bit her lip. "Oh this is a bit embarrassing and probably wildly unrealistic, but my dream is to be a singer".
"It is not embarrassing and whether it is realistic depends on how good you are, can you sing ?" Connor asked.
She shrugged. "I've been told so, but I know the chances are slim even with talent".
"Never say never, but you know you have to get up on that stage and sing for us now, don't you ?" Joel said grinning.
Amelia glared at him. "Yeah that was exactly what I feared. I hate karaoke, which might sound kind of stupid, but it is just different from just singing".
"If I get up there with you, will you do it then ? We can both look like fools then". Connor said, as he got up and offered her his hand.
She accepted his hand without thinking and let him pull her up, she looked at him with a sly smile. "What about you then, can you sing ?"
"If he can sing ? He .." Joel sounded like he was going to say something, but a glare from Connor made him go quiet, lowering his gaze.
Connor pulled her with him toward the stage. "I guess I can sing somewhat okay, I am not out of tune at least".
As she looked through the songs, he was standing close behind her, leaning over her to look, his arm on the table next to her and his face close to her ear.
Amelia was suddenly very aware of how close he was, she could literally feel the warmth from his body and she breathed in deeply to calm herself, which didn't work as she just realised how good he smelled, very masculine and a bit spicy.
"Is there any one you prefer ?" He asked, his face so close to her she could feel his breath on her neck, sending hot flashes through her.
She turned slightly toward him and answered. "No not really, I think I can do all of them pretty well, do you have any favourites ?"
"What about this one ? That one I know I can do". He said with a small grin, pointing to '(I've had) The time of my life' from Dirty Dancing.
She nodded and chose it. "A good choice, and it is a little more upbeat than the other duets".
He grabbed her hand, and pulled her with him up on stage, then he handed her one of the microphones and the music started.
6 years later "Are you okay baby ?" Connor looked at her with concern across the table. They were sitting in a nice restaurant having dinner. She smiled a calm smile and put a hand on her stomach. "There was just a little bandit in here who felt like using mommy's bladder as a soccer ball". "Oh he is gonna be such a little trouble maker that one". He looked at her lovingly, his eyes so warm and soft. Amelia sent him a lopsided smile. "Yes, I have an inkling that he is going to be very much like his daddy, our little wolf cub". "Do you even know how exquisitely beautiful you are when you are pregnant ?" He grabbed her hand, squeezing it softly. She pulled a face at him. "Oh yeah, It is not like I look like a beached whale at all". "Then you are the most beautiful beached whale ever. I can't seem to keep my eyes or hands off you". He said with a cheeky wink. She arched one eyebrow. "Uh honey, that actually isn't anything new. That has never really been your strong side". He ju
"It is time, Ami". Linda stuck her head in the door and she nodded, taking one last look in the mirror. She felt beautiful and hoped that Connor would feel the same. They had landed in Denmark late in the afternoon the day before and she had spent the night at her parents house with Linda. She walked to the waiting limo and Linda helped her inside. "Oh Ami you look stunning, Connor is so gonna cry when he sees you". "Well the way his hormones are acting up these days I actually fear a whole other reaction". Amelia said giggling and Linda broke down laughing at the thought. She still didn't know where they were going, but she did have an idea and she loved Connor even more for doing this. No Hollywood glamour and paps, just their family and friends in the beautiful Danish summer. And it was an exceptionally beautiful summer day in the beginning of August with the sun high in the sky and the fields heavy with crops as they drove through the landscape. She wasn't nervous. She kne
Two weeks later "Are you okay Connor ?" Joel asked him. He was waiting aboard the private jet with Joel, his family and friends. They waited for his sister and Amelia to arrive. He had managed to keep the wedding plans a secret for her and now it was the day before their wedding. He really hoped he had made the right choice and that she would be happy. He breathed in deeply, his right hand was trembling, but it always did that when he got stressed, one of the few little reminders he still had of his ordeal. "Well I am just nervous if this is the right way to do it, if she is going to be happy". "Don't worry Connor. I am sure that it is the perfect wedding and she is going to love it". Joel put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Then the limousine drove up next to the plane and Amelia got out with his sister. As always she looked stunning and soon she would finally be his wife, his forever. His Wolf howled with delight. He walked over to the stairs and greeted them. His sister
"Conner you have to let me leave the bed, If I am to plan a wedding". She looked at him. It was about a week later and he had practically kept her hostage in the house. Apparently it was impossible for him to keep his hands off her for more than 15 minutes unless he was sleeping. Not that she complained, so absolutely not, but they had a wedding to plan and only two weeks until the big day and that kind of demanded that she had just a bit of time without his hands and body all over her. He made a really pouting face. "Right now ? Can't it wait just for half an hour or so ?" "Conner you said that yesterday and how much did I get done ?" She asked him, arching one eyebrow. He rolled his eyes and smiled sweetly. "Well you almost made it out the front door one time". "Yes and then you had to kiss me goodbye right ? And threw me over your shoulder like a caveman carrying me back to bed". She crossed her arms and looked at him sternly. His fingers were caressing her thighs. "It wasn
"Ami ?" She heard Connor’s voice and turned towards it. She was standing in the garden in the warm evening, a glass of white wine in her hand. He came towards her from the house and she smiled at him. He was walking almost normally now and she was so proud of him, he had really worked hard. She thought he looked amazing. He had let his beard grow back out, but was keeping it short and trimmed and he was wearing a pair of very well fitting jeans and a green button down shirt, with the top buttons open. He gently took the glas from her and put it on the table. "Sweetie, I have something I want to ask you, but you have to promise to really think about it and answer me honestly okay ?" "Of course Connor, what is it ?" She looked at him wondering what this could be about. He grabbed both her hands and kneeled in front of her, her heart felt like it skipped a couple of beats. "Ami, this time I can do it right and you deserve that". "I love you above anything else and that I will alw
Josh had arrived in London without trouble, but to a big media circus. Everyone wanted to know where he had been and what had happened, and then he got spoiled by his mother, at least that was what his texts said. Connor had made a lot of progress both physically and psychologically himself, especially after accepting Amelia's help. His wolf was also a huge help and a week later he could leave the hospital to go home. They had feared coming home to a destroyed house, but he had called his father and incredibly enough his house had only suffered minor damage, which had already been fixed. When they arrived in LA the city was almost unrecognisable, of course it wasn't all back to normal, but it had been cleaned and people were rebuilding everywhere. They spend the first week returning to a somewhat normal life, talking about what they wanted to do now. Amelia wasn't longer sure she wanted to pursue a singing career. She needed some more time to think, and he had said he would supp
