Zara.
I walked nervously into the Alpha's chember; Savik was at the high table next to the members of the Edwood pack, and the Regans were sitting opposite; a long table separated the two packs. I went straight to their table and began placing the drinks. I tried to avoid looking in Vulvan's direction. "Give us half of your territory, and we will meet your demands," one of the Edwood pack members stated. This request sparked serious disagreements between the two packs as they discussed their oppinoun. I quietly moved on to the next table. "Your women sure look beautiful, though; I would not mind having one for myself." The Regan I was serving looked at me in a lustful way. His gaze made me feel uncomfortable, and his remarks drew attention to me. "Yes, they are. seen anyone, you li....." "I believe we were here to discuss important matters, not your women." Vulvan cut Savik off, his eyes flashing with rage met mine, as if he was staring into my soul; and my heart was pounding. I am not sure why, but it worried me that I was the source of his rage. The room was dead silent; if a pin fell, you would hear it; it was clear they were all afraid of him. His dominance demonstrated how different he was from other Alphas. No one said anything after Vulvan's outburst; Savik appeared angry at being cut off, and I knew he was not going to let that go. After a while, their conversation began, and I stood in the corner of the room in case they needed me; I was the only one allowed inside; the other girls were barred from participating because the discussion was private, and I, as the outcast of the pack, had some advantages. I was just observing Vulvan the entire time; he did not say anything and simply listened to what others said. My wolf was losing it; she had never reacted to anyone like this before, and for some strange reason, I wanted to smell him; his sent was what I craved, so I walked up to his table, intending to pour him a drink, and as I got closer, his sent filled my nose. He tilted his head and met my gaze. Those eyes were so mesmarizing that i looked at him like a lost puppy looking for its owner. I could sworn he had said something, but i was in my own world. Every nose was muted, only my heartbeat and the unsettling feeling occurring inside me I could hear. "Zara,Zara!!" I heard Savik called out angrily. his tone brought me out from my trans. My eyes widened as I looked down at Vulvan's pants "Oh, I'm...I am so sorry," I said, so distracted that I did not notice his cup was full and spilt on his pants. Everyone was quietly wondering what was going on, and my disorganized state was not helping as I searched for a way to clean his stained pants. I reached for the napkin on the table, but his next words stopped me. "Take me to the restroom," he said, interrupting what I was about to do. I gave a nod. "This way," I said, with a faint smile. He followed me as I led the way to the restroom; I could feel his gaze on me, which made me feel anxious. We came across a room that had been vacated for a guest.I stopped walking halfway to wait for him to enter, but he remained motionless. "Here is the restroom; sorry, I meant to say a room with a bathroom; you must enter to get to the bathroom." Why was I explaining? Of course, he is aware of all this. I sounded like a child trying to get her words straight, and I scolded myself in my mind because I was pretty sure I sounded stupid to him right now. He chuckled at my behaviour and then turned the doorknob before I could understand what was going on. He dragged me in, shut the door behind me, and pushed me against the wall, pining me with his body. I was still taken aback by his unexpected action, his face inches away from mine, his masculine sent became stronger, and his breath tingled my skin, sending shivers down my spine. His desperate eyes locked on mine, as if searching for the truth. He grabbed a strand of my hair and sniffed it as if his life depended on it. "Is this a joke?" How can you be my mate?" he sniffed my hair again. My eyes widened as he said MATE? How was this possible? Vulvan is my mate, but he is a Regan. His nose trialled down my neck, I stiffened slightly, He noticed my discomfort but didn't pulled back. His eyes burned with a desperate longing as they were fixed on my neck, He seemed to be fighting the urge to give in to his desire, and then he looked away, giving me back my personal space. My warmed body felt cold again. He regained his composure and spoke with a calm but serious tone."It turns out you are my mate, and you are not going to tell anyone about this, understand? I nodded sadly, feeling a lump in my throat. He frowned his eyebrow. "Words, Zara, I need your words." "Yes, yes, I won't tell anyone," "Good," he responded. he noticed my fidgeting. " Do you have any questions?" he asked. I only had one question in mind, but I was not sure how he would react, so I would ask anyway because I did not know when I would see him again. "Will you be back for me?" His expression changed to one of intense contemplation. His eyes narrowed slightly, and his jaw clenched as he considered his response. "I don't know," he said finally, his voice low and measured. "Our packs don't get along, and being mates... it's complicated." I felt a pang of sadness and fear, my heart sinking at his words. Vulvan's eyes locked onto mine, and I saw a flicker of something there - maybe regret, maybe longing. He turned to leave, but not before giving me a piercing look. As he walked out the door, I felt a chill run down my spine. His words echoed in my mind: "Our packs don't get along...). I shuddered at the thought of Savik's reaction if he found out Vulvan was my mate. Fear gripped my heart, making it hard to breathe.zara's pov.woke up unusually early with an unsettling feeling in my stomach. It felt like I was about to throw up. My head throbbed painfully, and my whole body ached. Everything hurt. I couldn’t remember much of anything. But then, I felt his gentle hands on me.He calmed me down, gave me some medication, and softly whispered something I couldn’t quite catch but found comfort in. His voice was low, loving, and safe. I felt secure again. With his arms wrapped around me, I drifted back to sleep for the second time.Later that day, I stretched and yawned. The pain in my body was gone. No more headache. My tummy didn’t hurt anymore, either. I felt refreshed and oddly relaxed.I reached across the bed with my hands, but a wave of disappointment hit me—Vulvan wasn’t there. After spending a few more minutes refusing to get up, I finally sat up and opened my eyes—and immediately locked eyes with a piercing pair of emerald green ones. He was sitting on the couch across from the bed, shirtles
Vulvan's pov.woman here was driving me crazy. Every time we hit a speed bump, she would bounce—her hips pressing hard against my growing bulge. Her breasts were nearly spilling out of her dress, right there in full display, and I couldn’t bring myself to look away. I loved the view. The car had an inbuilt divider separating the driver from the back seat. I wouldn’t want another man staring at what was mine. The car came to a halt, finally indicating we were home. I took off my suit jacket and used it to cover her exposed chest. It took a bit of effort to adjust it right to make sure she was decently covered before we stepped out.“Hold on tight,” I told her as I placed my hand on her tummy. She let out a painful groan, but it wasn’t too loud. I didn’t think much of it—maybe she was exaggerating. Drunk people do that a lot.As soon as we entered, we were met by Dax. He had a smirk on his face.“Oh hey Dax!” she screamed, loud and clear—right into my ear. I turned to glare at her. Why
vulvan's pov.Words were being exchanged between me and the party guest, but my mind was elsewhere. I couldn’t even focus on what they were saying anymore. All I could see in my head was her. Zara. I recalled the look on her face when I warned her I was going to spank her if she delayed—and deep down, I wanted her to delay. I hoped she would. Because I was ready to ruin that little body of hers. I could already imagine her reaction when she finds out I wouldn’t go easy on her.I let out a low breath and looked toward the table where she and I were supposed to sit together. Empty. No Zara. I frowned slightly, raising my wrist to glance at my watch. Almost an hour had passed. An entire hour. She had said she was going to the restroom. What the hell was she doing?I felt irritation crawl up my chest. A piece of me was angry she disobeyed me. Another part of me was…excited. If she wanted to be stubborn, then fine. She was going to get what she asked for. And this time, I wouldn’t hold bac
Before I could blink, Savik grabbed a fistful of my hair and slammed me hard against the wall. A sharp, blinding pain shot through me like lightning. I couldn’t think straight. “You’re bad at everything!” he snapped, breathing heavily. “You’re just useless. A waste of time. So you couldn’t kill the damn man—all you do is f**k him! and you dear to talk back at me?” I felt disgusted know it's my own bother that's saying this things to me.His words hit harder than the wall. My heart dropped. My skin turned ice cold. His grip tightened, yanking my head back. I cried out in pain, tears stinging my eyes as I was forced to meet his gaze. His eyes were full of something dark and vicious—pure rage. Then I saw it.Something shiny. He pulled it from under his coat—a gun.A cold, black gun.The moment he pressed the barrel against my cheek, my whole body froze. I couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t blink. My entire body turned into stone. The touch of the metal was like death itself whispering in my ear
The music ended, followed by a loud cheer from the crowd. Vulvan gently released his grip from my waist and led me to our seats. He pulled the chair for me to sit, and I muttered a small, “Thank you.”He cleared his throat.“Not bad for someone claiming she's a bad dancer. he had this smug on his face. That was fun, wasn’t it? We should try that again,” he said, sipping his wine.“I’d rather not. That was mentally tasking,” I lied, even though I had fun.He chuckled.“Mentally tasking? What was mentally tasking was me leading you. I’m sure I’ve broken a toe by now with how many times you stepped on my feet.”I frowned.“How is that my fault? I warned you I didn’t know how to dance, but you insisted. Serves you right,” I snapped, my voice laced with annoyance. How dare he act like this was all on me? I had to calculate every step at some point. Does he even know how awkward that was? I clearly had no idea what I was doing at first, but eventually, I let myself go and allowed Vulvan to
The car ride was silent but not uncomfortable.Zara sat beside me, her hands resting lightly on her lap, her gaze fixed out the window. The soft lights from passing streets reflected off the diamond chain around her neck it looked like stardust resting against her skin.I couldn’t stop stealing glances. She was... breathtaking. And not in the overused, shallow sense. I mean it in the kind of way that makes you forget how to breathe for a second. Her dress simple but elegant hugged her frame like it was made just for her. Her hair was swept into a loose bun, a few strands brushing her face just right. And her scent Goddess it messed with my head. She didn’t say much. But I noticed how her fingers fidgeted slightly, betraying her nerves. I wanted to say something to reassure her. But for once, I didn’t know how to speak without sounding like a fool.Instead, I just watched her. Her profile, calm and composed, was illuminated every few seconds by the glow of passing lights. She didn’t re
