LUCIEN

I look down at Nirelle, who is sprawled on my chest, her hair in a web behind her and her hand curled into a fist on my body. I did not think that she would have given that much pleasure to want to never stop, but she looked tired, so I had no option but to restrain myself. This was the start of it all, and from here on out, I was never going to let her go.

"Do you still think having kids is a bad idea?" I ask, and she raises her head with her hand on my body and her head on it. She blinks at me as if she does not know what she is supposed to respond to that. "You do not have to answer that if you do not want to," I say, and she shakes her head.

"I am afraid that we might have a lot of kids," she said, her voice hoarse. Why did it turn me on already? She gently took her head out from underneath her chin and traced the line on my chest. "I might not be able to stop myself," she adds, and I almost blush like a baby at her confusion.

"I was thinking the same thing." I try to make m

Well, well, well… It looks like our dear Lucien just upgraded himself from “husband” to “full-time worshipper of his wife”. Can we take a collective moment to scream into our pillows? Because SAME. This chapter gave us everything: sleepy post-intimacy cuddles, plotting against powerful families, Theo and Zane being chaotic uncles, and Lucien dropping the casual bombshell that he doesn’t just love Nirelle—he worships her. Someone hand me holy water, because that line took me out! But let’s talk about Nirelle too—she’s finally resting in safety, smiling in her sleep, being spoilt with room service and kisses. After everything she’s survived, doesn’t she deserve to be loved this ferociously? (The answer is yes, in case you were wondering.) Now, I need to know: when Lucien said “full-course meal”, did your brain short-circuit, or was it just me? Drop your reactions below—because I KNOW you all have thoughts about Lucien’s worship

  • NIRELLE   THE THIRD OPTION

NIRELLEThey were taking too long to reveal the project, and it was making me worry that they already had a clear idea of what we were trying to do. "Don't worry about that," Lucien had said when I brought my worry up to him. "They would be too ashamed to gather all these people and not do anything." He was too sure, so I had to agree with him in the end."Thanks to everyone who has honoured our invitation tonight, and a special thanks to Mr and Mrs Vexley." Mr Wolfe on the stage had a huge smile on his lips. "For gracing our occasion," he added, and I was trying to understand this man.The Thamore and Wolfe family seemed not to mind that they were on the wrong side of Lucien's anger; they wanted to still ride the waves as long as they could."This is the first event they are attending since becoming public, and when my son said we had to send out the invitation to them, I was almost too sure they would want to avoid the public for now, but they graced the event."I felt my finger tre

  • NIRELLE   FIGHTING A TRAP

LUCIEN"See, it's not that bad to sit without your wife," Olivia said as I lowered myself into the seat."It is that bad.""Mr Vexley, are you a simp?" She asked, making everyone at the table look at me. Was she trying to make this a bad thing? Why? So she could use that as an entry point?"Of course, it's my wife, and if I am not a simp to her, then who?" I ask, raising my eyebrow in question."Oh my goodness!" one of the older couples on our table said. "I wish all of our husbands were like that.""I know, right?" the other woman added as she turned her nose up to the man sitting beside her. "All they know is to take care of themselves.""Mr Vexley, it is an honour to be seated at the same table as you are," the husband of the first woman said, stretching his hand to me. "I am Mr Stone of Stones and Bricks, and this is my lovely wife, Anna Stone," he said, motioning to the older woman."Mr Vexley, I commend you," she said with a thumbs up in my direction. I did not know what to make

  • NIRELLE   QUEEN OF QUIET

NIRELLEThe party started as a normal one should. The host announced that Cassian had to come onstage to give a speech. I zoned out because not only was I not interested, but I also did not want to have to listen to him lie over and over again for no reason. About how good the technology was and how they had spent years trying to perfect it, when all they had done was force an intern to sign away his patent rights to them with a measly sum.The intern, who was a student, did not think that his technology was good enough, and so when the Wolfe family offered him much for his little, he was quick to sign the papers even though it was extremely disadvantageous to him."I do not want to cause trouble with them," he had said to Zane when he wanted to meet him. "I have money now; that should be okay," he added with a smile. Should it be okay that money was involved, even though an idea was completely stolen and taken without them thinking about it twice?Whatever Cassian was saying must hav

  • NIRELLE   AT THE FAMILY TABLE

NIRELLELucien's thunderings did not seem to faze the girl. She only bowed with her lips tight and her face straight. It was almost as if she had been trained for this exact scenario. They knew what was going to happen, yet they still went ahead with it. "I am sorry, sir, but I can't do that."I couldn't believe the nerve of those people. With Lucien on the verge of losing his temper and the poor girl, people were already whispering, and maybe they anticipated this; maybe this was really what they wanted. I tug on his hand, and he looks at me."I am sure there is nothing she can do." I hope he agrees with me. My words seem to calm him down. He shakes his head but says nothing, and I let out a sigh of relief. "Let us just sit separately for now.""But...""It would be just a few hours," I say, cutting him off, still trying to let the smile stay on my face. I was extremely angry at what was going on, but I wanted them all to think I was nothing but a doll; the more they underestimated

  • NIRELLE   THE SINISTER SMIRK

NIRELLE"You both should go in first," Theo said as we stopped at the entrance of the hall. From the outside and all of the cars and people lined up at the entrance, it was pretty obvious that the Wolfes had tried for this to be a perfect event. The kind that the media would talk about for years to come."Why don't you want to come with us?" I asked. "We can go in together.""No, no, go on in; we will meet you inside," Theo added, holding Zane back before he could agree."Do not forget the plan has to go smoothly," Luicen said. I had thought he was going to try to convince them that they had to come in with us, but it seemed he was more bothered about other things in the end."Aye aye, captain," both men saluted as the door opened and Lucien stepped out before stretching his hand to me. I took it, and soon we were standing hand in hand. The limo zoomed from behind us, and a staff member was ready to greet and direct us up the magnificent stairs into the hall."Mr and Mrs Vexley, I wou
