Seven : Cousin

I woke up with throbbing pain in my head, memories of yesterday's event came back like a flash in my mind.

I was in the middle of the woods, I heard a whimper turns into an agony howl and a wolf standing in front of me, growling and snarling, it's eyes are blood-shot red, I start running as it start chasing me. tripping to a log making me hit my head and the wolf coming near at me.

'Am I dead?' I asked myself, fluttering my eyes open and look around me, I am in a fluffy bed with a white all around room. I am defiantly dead. I frown at myself then a door in my room burst open revealing a man in white suit, before he could ask a question I shot him first.

"Am I dead? Are you an angel? Where am I?" He just chuckle as he shook his head

"No, you're not dead sweetheart, you're in a hospital." He said in a soft voice just then I notice the cardboard his holding, he is a doctor. I let out a sigh of relief.

"You hit your head really hard, can you tell me what was the last event you remembered?"

I make a 'hmm' sound before looking at him. "I saw a wolf with a red eyes then it comes towards me, I ran as fast as my feet could make it but got trip over a log then I hit my head, then another wolf came but that one save me then they disappeared then I saw him, he save me but oh my god! the two wolf are so huge! they're not--" I was cut by the doctor as he clear his throat.

"You're blabbering Ms. Byrne" He smile making me blush in embarrassment.

"You have to take a rest for a day or two, and you need to go back here next week for your check up and for me to see your wounds okay? I'll give you pain reliever and antibiotics. Alp-- Mr. Ross will be here in a minute to come and pick you up."

"Kris?"

"Yes?" I heard his voice before I saw him coming, I haven't heard him enter the room, my heart start to pick up.

"Alp--" The doctor cut his word as he lightly bow his head before turning to me "I'll get your papers ready, Ms. Bryne." I gave him a small smile and nod, he walks out of the room leaving me and Kris alone, I tried to calm my nerves as he start to stalk toward me. I gulp in nervousness.

"How are you feeling?" He said in a low voice, worried lace on it. I turn to look at him but I regretted it, his face is just inches away from me. I scooted a little away from him.

"Uhm I ah uhm good, ah uhm T-thank y-you for s-saving m-me." I stutter "H-how did you find me?" I look at him confused.

"I was walking through the woods, when I heard heavy footstep, I followed the sound" He said not looking at me, I furrowed my brow to him. I was about to ask when the doctor came back holding my release papers.

"Can you walk?" Kris asked, I just glared at him as he raised his both hands up, surrendering, I chuckle a little.

"Yes, yes. I can walk." I said, shaking my head, chuckling.

"Okay. come on Calvin is waiting for you outside."

"He's here? did he know what happened? have you seen the wolf?!" I start shaking in fear as he hold me, pulling me to him, embracing me and I instantly relaxes.

"Sshh. you're safe now, no one will hurt you, I won't let you get hurt again." He said more on to himself than to me, his hold tightens around me.

"Thank you." I look up to him, standing in my tip toe and kiss his cheek.

He smile down at me. "If saving you can earn me a kiss, I'm going to be beside you, saving you always." He grins making me blush "But even with a kiss, I'll still be here to protect and keep you safe, I promise." His eyes stares at me, seriousness flooding in his eyes.

"Thank you for doing this Kris." I smile sweetly at him.

"It's always a pleasure." He winks at me.

"Even we barely know each other."

"It doesn't matter." He looks at me again and before he can lean more closer, Calvin show himself up, I let out a sigh of relief. but deep inside me, I wish he never show up. I'm starting to like Kris kisses.

Heey! What is happening to you! the last time to said it, you hate the opposite sex! My conscience scold at me making me frown.

But what if he's just like James? what if he just want to get into my pants? what if he's just going to use me? what if-- I was cut off of my trance when I feel someone shaking me.

"Allyssa to Earth?!" Calvin scream/yell at me while Kris shaking my shoulder. "Are you okay? I've been calling you for two minutes now but all you do is stare at the hallway."

I just shook my head "I'm fine, just thinking." I gave them both a small smile before facing Calvin fully. "Can you take me home? I am tired and mom must be really worried about me."

"She's fine, I told her that you're fine. Come on, I'll take you home." He take my hand and lead me out of the building with Kris still in tow.

I hop into Calvin's car not bothering to give Kris a glance, for all I know he has a lots of girls out there throwing themselves to him and I am just an ordinary new girl that's why he is interested on me. I bit down my lower lip to suppress the sob that wants to let out.

They had a small talk before Calvin hop on the driver seat, Kris lean on my side as he say goodbye, I said a low 'bye' at him not looking at him. I tried not too look at him but the urge is so frustrating, when Calvin starts the engine, I took a glance on the side mirror just to see him standing still, the hurt look in his eyes is evident but he mask it away as he sees me looking, he smile as he waves at me.

Then a flashback came through me, I look at my cousin back to the side mirror to Kris. I gasps loudly making Calvin to look at me.

"What happened? Are you okay? Are you in pain or something?!" He asked worriedly.

"It's him, it's you!" I yelled, wide eyes.

He furrowed his brow, confusion lace on his face. "Who's him? What do you mean me?"

"The diner pass the Seattle, it's you and Kris!" I more on said it to myself, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, that's us." He grinned.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" I crossed my arms in front of my chest then pouts. He then began to drive again.

"We thought you'll remember us the moment you saw us again, well we thought wrong." He grins. Again I pouted.

"Let me guess, you all came there to have a one night stand ye?"

He practically step on the break as I almost meet the front smack in my face. He then look at me as if I just said the most horrific word in history.

"What makes you think of that?"

"All your lips are swollen and has a hair like A-Just-Had-S*x hair." His cheeks turns bright red, making me laugh a little. He looks like a kid being caught of stealing chocolate and guilty. He chuckle nervously before he continue driving.

A few more minutes had passed, we are now parked at their driveway area. I hop out of the car instantly as I ran inside the house. I was welcome by my mother as she gave me a tight hug. A typical worried mom.

"How are you sweetheart? Is there a broken bones? What the hell are you doing in the middle of the woods in the middle of the night?!" She scolded as she continue checking on me. Courtney and Carl came rushing by to me as they as well fire me a tons of question.

Telling them the whole story, I heard them take a sharp long sigh of relief. Mom warned me not to go back into the woods which I, myself willingly not to enter the woods again. Never again!

They practically took care of me the whole day, not even letting me do the house chores. Courtney stay by my side as Carl gets everything we need, snacks, drinks, movies and etcetera.

Calvin left before assuring me that I am safe and okay. It takes all my energy to convince him that I am fine, he's acting so much my old brother. Now I know the feeling of having a brother. Cousin but still he's my brother. He is a year older than me. *grins*

Mom and Aunt belle left for their so called bonding and while me and the twins do a movie marathon.

We all end up crying as we watch 'The Notebook & The Gift' seriously! They are heartbreaking! But Courtney insisted it. *frown*
