Chapter 2 The Zero family

After the wars were over, the earth was affected by a strange phenomenon, it was said to be caused by the aliens. Every organism started to undergo certain mutations which made them stronger, animals became beasts, and new life forms started to appear which were enhanced and were capable of having different powers, and also some were capable of controlling the energy around them through their newfound telekinesis ability.

The beasts formed a separate kingdom and stayed away from humans.

But humans started to hunt them to understand the strange phenomenon happening in the world and about the body and structural changes these mutations caused in the animals and how these will affect the humans.

Domestic beasts and pets also undergo these mutations, so they were often not kept by humans, and even if some were able to afford the cost and place them in special attention, they often attack the owners and they had to be put down.

Ben's 🏡

"Mom turn on the news let's see what information I can get on the beast that attacked our neighborhood street." said 12-year-old Ben adjusting his spectacles and eagerly looking at the TV.

Ben's mother and father were farmers and they were suppliers of high-quality food for major families in their state. The zero-family consisted of only 5 people.

After watching TV for some time Ben got ready to go out of the home before eating his breakfast fully.

" Ben eat your breakfast fully and go out", said his mother, but before she could finish her statement he was gone.

"Dan look at our son he is not listening to me, he is so feeble and yet he refuses to eat his food properly," said Ben's mother to her husband.

"Let him be May, he will change once he becomes a teenager, did you prepare his gift for this year? his birthday is in two days".

They discussed for some time and decided in buying him a combined gift for his birthday this year.

Ben was filled with thoughts regarding the new beast and didn't hear what his mother was saying to him and he thought of going to meet his friend Ricky at their daily meet-up spot, the central library. Ben was always interested in beasts and was fascinated by them. He was a normal teen without any cyborg mods. He was also born normally without any genetic modification or cyborg mechanism insertion.

Ben was home tutored by his grandfather Tim and grandmother Jessica.

His grandpa was a scientist and his grandma was a doctor, they both got out of work when the war started as they didn't want to work in the war.

Ben suffered from myopia, which he got through genes from his mother.

He didn't go to school as he would be bullied for coming from the weakest family and also for being a normal person wearing spectacles, which was seen as weird because wearing spectacles which were easily treatable now and having no cyborg mods was considered taboo by others.

Ben had only one best friend in his entire neighborhood who he was going to meet with now, even though he was from a family which had its number above 1,00,00,000 (which means he is from one of the greatest families in India).

Both their grandfathers were great friends from their childhood which allowed Ricky and Ben to know each other for a long time and be together without any discrimination.

India was one of the major contributors in the war against the aliens as they were one of the starters of the cyborg mechanism technology and they had developed it a lot during the following years. They were peace lovers and always tried to avoid war with other humans and even in World War 3 they remained neutral which led them to be supported by all countries surrounding them and they survived the war without participating in the war.  But when the war against the aliens started, they stood in front and showed their military prowess which was as advanced as other countries, and caused major damage to the aliens.

Ben would always ask questions about what Ricky learned in school and the activities happening there as he loved to go to school, but he couldn't due to the discrimination he would face if he went.

Cyborg mechanism was provided by the world government to everyone in the world. The world government leader is chosen by a Quantum supercomputer with AI made by the combination of all countries and with the alien technology which was comprehensible by humans, it grades and monitors all the cyborgs on the planet according to their actions and deeds. The leader chosen will always be a cyborg and never a normal human.

Ben and Ricky love to learn about the history and mysteries of the universe, so they stuck together always. Ben always wondered about Ricky's cyborg mods, but he never asked about it as he was not too much interested in cyborg mods.

Ben met up with Ricky and they talked for a long time. After hearing the news about the attack in their neighborhood street, Ricky wanted to visit the place. So they decided to go there together.

Ben and Ricky went to research about the area attacked in the neighborhood street and also research the new species of plant which was found in the swamps about 3 miles from there.
