Brooklyn's POV

Cooper had gone over to stand with Justeen, breathing heavily and whispering some things into her ear.

She called me dramatic, now everyone had to watch her picking up the drama queen trait.

I felt my control about to break loose but still managed to pull it back.

Meanwhile Cooper was still desperately speaking to her. Probably like, 'we can't let her spill the truth to everyone here,' because of her response.

My eyes returned back to the man grabbing me, who wasn't going to let me go.

Cameron.

With his heavy breaths falling on me, and eyes locked at a close range, coupled with his lethally handsome face, it was hard to maintain composure.

My brain melted off with his aura, for once, that spite of a lethal enemy was gone. I was captured in the heat of the moment.

A tear formed in my eyes which I quickly wiped. I stood upright to my feet.

"Are you okay?" He murmured, somewhat guilty but I pulled up a swift smile.

"No, it's fine. It's okay. Thank you," I said.

The realization settled heavily on me and when Cooper's gaze locked in with mine, he fidgeted but Justeen, still with that stiff face grabbed him.

"I didn't expect to face such a nuisance at my wedding. Honey, why didn't you probably discard her before the wedding or were you thinking of the little gains you had to keep from her?"

I scoffed. "Now everyone knows you both for who you are. Planning a wedding in secret and making me look bad. If I knew this wedding was about you, why would I dare come?" My words weren't released in anger yet faces nodded.

Cooper leaned towards her again in a whisper. I wondered what he was saying.

When her eyes grew even darker, I knew it wasn't something pleasing to the ear. Perhaps he was still trying to settle things, to defend me.

Pathetic!

Now, he was looking like a fool. "What was he even thinking?" I asked when my thoughts went back to the beginning of this wedding.

That I'd quietly accept as I've always done with him?

I smirked.

"Even if she does, what will happen? Who's she?" Justeen had barked. But Cooper was demonstrating, speaking in whispers.

Yet this lady wasn't giving in. "If she wants payment for her services these past three years, I'm rich enough to pay her."

"Remember I'm the one who made Mr. Brandon gave us that penthouse which we're living in. I'm also the reason he gave you WellSpring. Can you pay for these two?"

But Justeen stepped right in between us. "Don't be more stupid than you are now."

Cooper grabbed her waist but she yanked off his grip.

"You claimed Mr. Brandon was your father's boss right, Mr. Brandon is New York's richest man's staff. You roll with boy-boy, I roll with the bosses."

Boooom!

Cameras flipped random shots at the moment.

It didn't take long, the news had leaked on social media.

Notifications upon notifications. Comments filling in. Her pictures were slammed across pages.

"Justeen gets married to childhood best friend in a flash marriage." One user said, capturing our picture as we stood here.

Another asked. "How are we sure this isn't some staged drama? It looks too dramatic for a wedding."

"Worse of it, Cooper's housewife arrives at the venue in black like an angel of death." A mocking emoji followed.

I sucked in a deep breath.

I ignored that one commenting, scrolling further. "Seems like Cooper was going to humiliate her but things took a different turn."

Exactly.

At this point, no one was talking again, all eyes were on phones.

A different user banged in, capturing all of the attention and suspense.

"She calls the Chief of Staff to NY's richest man, eighth richest man in the world, boy-boy. A multi-millionaire in his own rights, claiming she rolls with her boss......"

"What's the meaning of this boy-boy?" Someone asked.

"A servant. A clingy, over-zealous one." Another user explained.

More angry reactions poured in.

Justeen's hands tightly held on to her phone. Her eyes were glued to it.

Series of her images, of her engaging in seductive poses and podcasts with these big men splashed across the media.

My head flipped back in a wave in total shock.

Then another set of videos, hers, making derogatory statements. In private.

Something no one ever knew before.

I tapped on the account wanting to see who this last poster was but the account was private.

I clicked back to screenshot all of the posts before twirling around to the woman who wanted to shame me today.

She grabbed Cooper's hand and Ayla. "Our wedding is sealed, let's get out of here." Her voice shook.

"Did the angel of death just chase a bride in white off her wedding?" Someone shouted just when they were by the door.

"Justeen?" I called harder. "So are you going over to a house a boy-boy gifted a useless ex-wife? I thought you should have built yours?"

The laughter turned even wilder, forcing her off with faster steps and lowered face, which I believe must now be trickling with tears.

"You bitch!" Cooper's mom, Mandy, shouted. All eyes turned.

Cooper's mom and his younger sister, Christy, were charging towards me.

I stood still, arms crossed with a smug grin.

It all happened in a flash.

Her hand raised in the air before I could even unwind my arms. But it was held midair by someone.

I ran speechless.

Cameron.

"Karma isn't a bitch like you all." I lashed on her finally before taking a curtsey on Cameron for defending me and walking off with Mabel.

When I stepped out, they were already gone.

I got into the bridal car waiting for me. The driver started the engine. Mabel grabbed my hand, consoling me.

"Don't worry," I told her.

I dialed Brandon's number again. Clicked on his W******p number and forwarded all the posts with comments to him, involving what Justeen said about him.

"I'm divorcing him."

Three minutes later, the typing notification was swaying up and down.

Then an audio message dropped.

A loud gasp. "What's going on? When Justeen return from abroad?"

"I couldn't tell you before now," I muttered.

"We are fucked up." He said.

"No, they are." I snapped. "Cooper is losing here." I said.

"No, we are." Brandon repeated, raising my impulse.

"What's it?" I panted. "Don't tell me you told him....."

"Why didn't you tell me of Justeen when I called you earlier? Now, I've told him about the will."

My jaw dropped to the ground.

"Eehhh. I'm finished." I groaned. It was now I realized what he meant.

Mabel shook me seriously. "What's that, ma'am? Please tell me."

But my throat clocked tight.

The driver even asked too. "What's wrong, ma'am?" But I ignored her.

"What do we do now?" Mabel panicked at him seeing me grab my chest like someone who was going to have a seizure.

"Come over with a divorce letter." I ordered Brandon. It wasn't gonna be easy but I refused to return back to the sunken, depressed mood I was earlier today.

"I will but truth be told, he might not sign it now he's seen what to gain."

I halted the conversation with Brandon and swiped up, went to my caller app, snappily searching for Cooper's number.

I tapped on it and the call went through.

"Hi Cooper, I'm getting a divorce. Get ready to sign and pack out of my house."

A soft chuckle rang off his lips. "Do you think I will grant your wish so easily? Nothing you do will make me leave you."

My stomach knotted. I felt like hitting him with a rod if he was here.

Brandon had already said it.

"Why wouldn't you get a divorce?" I asked him.

"Because we are in this together. As a man, I can marry two wives and divorce them only when I choose to."

The ego wrapped in his tone swallowed the little patience I had.

"A man can do as he likes, right?"

As expected, he said "Yes."

"Okay then," I said and ended the call.

I returned back to Brandon. "Be here to serve him the letter as soon as possible."

Then to the person I thought I'd never need in this life.

For something I thought I'd never ever demand. But I did. I tapped on Cameron's profile.

If Cooper had said he can do anything, then I was going to pull my luck.

"You protected me at the wedding. What if you escort me back home?"

I typed, paused. Then hit send.

I dropped my back to the seat, waiting for his response. My chest heaving badly as I waited.

  • No Longer Your Wife, Call Me Boss   Chapter 3

Brooklyn's POV It was at once I felt regret for not agreeing to the divorce. I'd thought it was me succumbing to a cheat, proving myself as a fool but now, I'd placed myself in a big terrible mess. I needed to get a divorce as soon as possible. So I snapped my fingers, saying to Brandon. "I'll call you as soon as possible." I snapped. I cut the call, sitting to a wave of thoughts rushing in. Grandpa, sick? And a will listing a man who just betrayed me as a co-benefactor of a conglomerate worth billions of dollars. The world spun round. My hands aimlessly rolled over my laps, occasionally slapping it and throwing my gaze outside. "Is everything alright?" "What's wrong, ma'am?" The driver asked but I wasn't even paying any attention to him nor did I have in mind to answer him. Many minutes, close to an hour whirled away in ceaseless thoughts such that when I came back to my senses, the sun was brighter and hotter, telling it was noon and the wedding there had gone far. "Shitt

  • No Longer Your Wife, Call Me Boss   Chapter 2

Brooklyn's POV My jaw dropped to the ground. I flipped a frightful look at Justeen. The popular business socialite who dined and wined with top CEOs and investors here in New York and beyond. They trailed back to Cooper. "What's her role in this deal?" He flinched his head away. Hiding the "Once she talks to the Wil-X President, the deal is settled." He breathed easily, as if this was not wrong at all. My eyes pressed on him with tears which he even took his fingers to wipe. "It's just for the deal. After everything is set, I'll divorce her. We will be back together. With such a massive deal, we'd have the biggest wedding of the century." He came closer, grabbing my hands. "Just agree to this, let's divorce and we will start all over, better than before." His lips spread into a soft grin, as if he was expecting me to accept this. I slammed my hands off his grip. I fisted my balls, breathing with difficulty. My chest heaved in and out, I felt like it would just burst any mome

  • No Longer Your Wife, Call Me Boss   Chapter 1

Brooklyn's POV"I wanna surprise you on our wedding day," my husband had said with a sweet smile. "Don't worry, whatever you see, cooperate." The smile had turned rather mischievous but I was thrilled to be honest. Who doesn't love surprises? Only to walk into my wedding to see a strange woman on white, standing on the podium with my husband and an officiator with a wedding rite book in hand. For a while, time stood still. I looked back and forth, then back in time to the statement he made. "I'll be doing something quite spectacular for my love. I'll go all out to show her how much I've loved her all these years." Those words hit me more deeply as I slowly turned back to the woman on stage with a silvery diamond petals wedding ring and a veil costing a fortune. My breath caught in my throat. I turned to my chief bridesmaid. "What's going on here?" But Mabel was equally confused. I looked around, the whole beach house was adorned with the most expensive sparkles, exactly how I'
