The Alpha said, "As long as you do not mention this, she has a wolf," as my eyes were closing. Her wolf is just taking its time to grow, but if you speak up, it will end immediately. I am more than happy to try to get your mother to give me another Alpha. Before you attack me with your big mouth, give it some thought."

I heard footsteps from where my feet were resting.

He lets out a low growl and asks, "You think mom will agree?"

An oxygen waster, a wolfless orphan incapable of doing anything right? You must be joking with me!

I heard a howl from a wolf and nearly passed out.

"Wolves, I knew they were near, but never this close," declared the Alpha as he stood up.

"Benjamin, if you challenge me, remember my words," he said as he crossed over to the other side. She will become your chosen partner."

It was just Benjamin and me.

I snapped awake to see him hurling daggers at me.

With all his strength, he grabs my throat and chokes me, saying, "I hope I can get my hands on you like this, just like ants can die for biting into my fucking food, and for all, I care about them when I kill them with just my finger."

"You will either pass away now or sooner because I fucking swear," After seeing black dots in my vision, I nodded off.

When I opened my eyes once more, I was in a guest room at the pack house instead of the hospital.

I could not move my neck, but I was not sure why I was there.

A plastic object encased my neck in foam.

I shifted to the side, sighing.

When I opened my eyes, the first thing I noticed was that I was in a guest room in the pack house instead of the hospital.

Or at least that is my opinion.

I knew where I was, at least, even though I was immobile.

My good hand felt heavy when I moved it, and when I lifted it, my whole hand was covered in IVs—this was a room, not the cellars.

I move to at least sit down, sigh, and when I do, I notice that the bathroom door is open.

Glancing about me, I notice a large sliding mirror.

I proceed to the door leading to the mirror, where I can clearly see what transpired.

My whole hand was in a cast.

It was raised in a scarf that supported my hand and provided cervical neck support.

It certainly took a toll on me, whatever had happened to my neck.

I could move, at least.

When I lifted my hospital gown with my hand down, I noticed all the bruises the Luna had given me.

Their tones were different.

My physical state had now gotten worse.

I never thought of myself as beautiful because of my plus-size figure, and anyone who saw me could tell how poorly I was treated.

Even though I was treated well, I was mocked for the most trivial reasons all the time.

I can not stop hearing those derogatory monikers in my head: Cassidy the Oprah, fat, foolish, worthless, and why can not I just get up and leave?

I was lost in thought when I noticed that the sun had set from where I had just woken up.

I kept asking myself how long I had been in the hospital.

A/N: I hope all is well with you all. I wanted to give you a quick update to let you know that I have been pre-scheduling a lot of books to promote every day. You can all read my work while I continue to edit it as best I can.

For those who are curious, a lot has happened in regards to my family's health; we are still here, but we anticipate recovering quickly.

Rogues were attacking our pack from both sides.

"Holly, more elders are heading your way!" I told the pack elders as Holly was gathering everyone in the pack house.

I turn to see Vanessa sprinting in the direction of the school.

Could you explain what this crazy girl is attempting to accomplish?

When I received the link, a second child ran to the pack house and said, "Carter, take two warriors and protect my daughter at all costs, am I clear?"

I was getting so annoyed with his command that I had to suppress a growl.

Why was I selected by my Alpha out of all of them?

Upon noticing that there was fighting among all of them, I sprinted to the school on my right, shouting, "John and Jona!"

Come on over here. Vanessa, who ran to the school for reasons only the goddess knows, needs to be protected.

John gave a frustrated snarl.

I did not think she was that smart or attractive, but these two did.

"All right, we are behind you," Jona hurriedly replied.

Since I was not a full wolf and there were no rogues near the school, I was unable to howl to see if anyone needed help.

Although mind linking is a benefit, the biggest letdown was realizing that I was attempting to save Vanessa, which caused me to mentally punish myself.

As soon as I heard my two friends arrive, I muttered, "Fuck," and tried to mind Link but she blocked me.

´You two move to opposite sides, but kindly howl first. There may be some teenagers present. You are aware.

When Jona laughed, I whispered to him, "I swear, you are such a gentleman." Simply state it.

He applies the quote to the term "friend."

He was making fun of me for not wanting to use that other filthy term—you know, it is just part of everyday life. Attempting it once you obtain your wolf would be beneficial.

We hear some teenagers from the other side, and John howls at the entrance.

"We will catch up," they said as I pursued Vanessa.

I could definitely smell her scent. Vanessa, I have not missed her.

As I unlocked the doors to the school's internal training area, I inquired.

Vanessa was standing there with her hands crossed on her chest. "You seem nervous, are you unable to take a hint?" You do not belong here! She yelled.

Despite my headache, I was tired and asked myself, "What is your deal, Vanessa?" If you do not have enough fun bullying your friends, do you still get a kick out of insulting me? "I am not your boy toy," I said, and Vanessa started laughing uncontrollably.

You are who I want you to be, whether or not you agree, and who the hell do you think you are speaking to?

I started to respond, but Vanessa threw me a tennis ball.

I still felt raw in my chest.

Despite my hands being burned and my knees hitting the ground, she continued to play with me.

Aaa! I cried, hurling my shoe at her head.

After being struck on the shoulders, Vanessa yelled in rage.

"You struck me! I got screamed at for standing up for myself. Here's the link, Carter. We are secure. "Where are you?"

Vanessa, where are you?

I replied, taking a deep breath, "She was attacking me."

She was slamming into my chest.

"Carter!" was growled from behind me.

"Are you alright?"

yelling, "I cannot do so," was Jonas.

I attempted to clarify, but I was unable.

My breathing was labored and shallow, my chest was constricted, and I could see black dots in my eyes.

“Carter!”

I heard someone yell, but the events that followed caused me to pass out.

I watched everything go dark in the span of a single glance.

I felt at peace, not knowing what was going on around me.
