ALPHA GREGORY
I was in my study room after the meeting when one of my guards rushed in with a maid who was panting heavily. With a stop, they bowed deeply as they let out heavy breaths."Are you out of your mind?" I shouted at the guard as I stood up to my feet. It looked like these guards were a little off since I came back from my trip.Do I need to remind them who I was?I wondered why he opened my door without even bothering to knock. Maybe he had lost it already. I was ready to bring him back to his senses."I'm sorry, sir," he apologized with a bow. "It's Lady Ava."I was already losing my temper, but I called down immediately after Ava's name was mentioned. I blinked slightly with a deep frown etched on my face."What about her?" I asked.I slowly walked out of my desk. The maid who was beside him was also panting heavily, and her hands were shaking terribly. I would devour them for real if they camALPHA GREGORY How could I have forgotten that strange man? That was the only man I had seen Stephanie hanging with. If indeed he was the one, then Stephanie deserves to be punished. She was my mate and yet she was flirting with another man and even hurt Ava." Did you forget you rejected her," Scar sneered in my head. Biting back my annoyance, I wonder if Scar was my wolf or Stephanie's wolf." Stop blaming me, Scar. It's not my fault... You should know I love Ava," I retorted, sighing deeply." You are supposed to love our mate, Greg. Not some other woman" " Ava is not another woman. She is..." " Whatever," Scar angrily cut me off as he shut himself out.I got into my room and picked up a few things I needed to fight the battle. I walked out of the room and headed straight to the pack border when I received a mind link from the healer that Ava's injuries were getting serious. My heart sank deep into my stom
Stephanie POV I stared at the bloodshot eyes that held mine. Instead of feeling frightened, I felt a rush of warmth as the entity walked closer to me. The place was dark and scary yet with this man, I felt safe.Suddenly, the air seem to carry a powerful force that made the man shield me to himself. I could feel the heat from those volcanic eyes of his.“ Stay behind me…” he ordered, turning his back to face the powerful force.Who was this man and why was he looking familiar?“ Why did you give her your blood? You are a rare breed. A dragon with the blood of a royal Lycan and she is just a halfling!" A deep voice pierced through the dark night." The blood is mine to give, likewise her. She is mine,” the man defended, shielding me from the powerful force." You are disorganizing the circle of life. She needs to die…”" Not when I am alive, Draco. Don't mess with me…” the man said, breathing out fire.I tried to take a peak at the powerful force called Draco. There was nothing but th
Stephanie POV As different thoughts ran through my mind, I felt his presence getting closer. I kept biting my lips, hoping I was wrong.“ What do you think, mate?” He questioned, a smirk dancing around those luscious lips of his.I opened my mouth, the air escaping rapidly while I remained stuck at his question. Somehow, deep down, my heart fluttered like butterflies' wings during a sunny day. “ I- you must be an Alpha of a very wealthy pack. You are a lycan, right?” I managed to blurt out, pushing aside whatever suspicion I have about his identity. “ Right…” he slurred, as if contemplating speaking further. With a sigh, he took my hands. “ Care for a tour around my kingdom?” My eyes sparkled at his suggestion. I was dying to see what a Lycan pack looked like. With a nod, I quickly stood up from the bed.“ Easy, the kingdom won't vanish like the water…” he winked at me. I glared at him before following him out of the room. As soon as I stepped outside the room into the hallway,
Stephanie POV My eyes wide open, I stared at the dark figure in front of me. I could only see the back of whatever it was as it walked out of the room. Tongue-tied and frightened out of my wit, I could feel the night air enveloping my entire being in fear.A closer look at the being, I could see it's glittering scales decorating the back of the entity. Fear gripped my heart at the possibility of the being before me.Was that a dragon?Swallowing hard, I braced myself up as I walked briskly towards the entrance of my room. I try to encourage myself that it was all but a dream, just like the last time. Getting to the entrance of my room, I made a turn towards the dark hallway but a growl that seem to shatter the silence of the night, made me halt my steps. I looked up, clenching my fist tightly. I watched as the entity transformed into a full blown dragon before turning around to stare at me, in dark. My heart skipped a thousand times as his fangs protruding, glittering in the dark
STEPHANIE POV I went closer, trying to get a closer look but he was gone. With a sigh, I went back to my room as my mind was filled with different thoughts.Ever since I met Davies, he had been a mystery. I waved it off as his Lycan identity. Back in my pack, I have heard stories of how Lycans are very secretive and elusive when it comes to their identity. But once you have been introduced to their pack, they are no longer secretive. Why was Davies different?Besides, in all the rumors flying around lycans, there had never been one where a Lycan has blue blood. I still couldn't shake off the image of Davies' blue blood from my mind. It was etched in my memory like a scar. I had to know what it meant. The next morning, I was determined to find out the truth from him. Feeling hungry, I made my way to the kitchen only to meet him preparing breakfast.Since I came into the pack, Davies had always prepared my meals. I
Stephanie POV I heard the murmurings as the once quiet private training arena suddenly had buzzing sounds all over.“ How could you, Davies!" The voice sounded so annoyed and commanding that I was forced to push Davies away. It was surprising that he was still lost in his world of romance even when the person's voice was enough to cause an earthquake. As we turned around, I saw her. A gorgeous girl with a fierce warrior's outfit, her eyes blazing with anger and hatred. Her gaze locked onto mine, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. She was an epitome of a time bomb!“ How dare you! Who the hell are you?" She breath out, her gaze fixed on mine. I squinted, unsure of what was playing out before me.Her eyes were like two piercing daggers, stabbing me with venom and malice. They seemed to bore into my soul, as if searching for something to destroy. The height of her hatred was easily detected, making my skin c
Stephanie POV I kept staring at the moon, questioning the goddess. I received a mindlink from Davies but I was too hurt to reply, so I blocked him.I took a deep breath, making my way toward my room with anger and hurt just below the surface. I suppressed my tears, not wanting to give in to my emotions anymore. As I walked towards my chambers, I overheard some of the maids talking in hushed tones."...can't believe she's back. How could she have the nerve to come back?" one of them said."I know, right? She's been gone for years," another maid replied."Despite it all, she has been rightfully engaged to the king since childhood," a third maid chimed in, obviously on Raina's side"She's always been destined for greatness."“ But Mia, the king already…”“ Already what? Do you think that halfling can compete with a warrior princess? The king needs a strong queen by his side. Not some…” Mia countered again.
THIRD POV"Don't go," Stephanie whispered, her voice soft but filled with unmistakable desire. Her fingers tightened on his arm, drawing him closer. "Stay with me."The invitation in her eyes was clear, making his heart race. Davies hesitated for a moment before capturing her lips again, this time with the roughness of lustful hunger. She responded eagerly, melting into his embrace as their kisses deepened. Her hands slid up his chest, bringing a fire wherever she touched. He groaned softly, his hands slipping down her back, pulling her closer to himself. He was unable to resist whatever this petite woman was doing to him. It felt so much like the night she saved him. But this time, he was in his right mind. And enjoy every bit of her touch and moan.Within moments, the mood shifted from gentle to urgent. Davies' hands slid beneath her top, exploring her twin mold as she moaned against his mouth. The sound sent shiver
Stephanie’s POVSince I left Gregory’s side, I had resumed looking around the maze-like building for Davies but it was to no avail. At first, I didn't want to get the domestic staff involved but seeing I will not be able to find him without their help, I had no choice but to do so. Even at that, no one could tell me his whereabouts, leaving me even more frustrated.Rubbing my neck which was still aching slightly, I was retracing my steps when I saw him through the window. All the while I had been searching for him, he wasn't in the building. He was walking down the path that led to the main building with his head buried. Doubling my footsteps, I rushed towards the main door just when he was letting himself in. “You just disappeared after leaving the table.” I said in a breath, my hands folded in front of me, my voice quieter than I meant it to be.“Are you okay?" I asked, peering into his eyes. The fact tha
Alpha Gregory’s POVI tried to act indifferent, like I wasn't bothered by anything. My expression was neutral, my voice steady and my steps even. But inside, I was burning. I was like a caged beast that was yearning for freedom. After leaving the dining room that morning, I went to the east end of the building where no one lived. . I wanted to be alone and also empty my heart which was heavy but I couldn't. With my hands tucked inside my pockets, I paced the length and breadth of the little space, my jaws tightened and fists clenched in my pockets. The old seeker's last smirk was still embedded in memory no matter how hard I tried to shake it off. The look on his face didn't look like that of a defeated man, instead, he wore the look of someone who knew something I didn't. And that scared the hell out of me each time I recalled the scene. All my life, I had always believed in transparency especi
Stephanie’s POVThe following morning, I woke up to the sound of the kids babbling. They sounded excited and I got curious. Pulling myself up, I shifted my gaze to the cot only to see Gregory hovering over them. He was grinning widely as he played with the kids. He was acting in contrast to the way he had acted last night. Relieved that he had returned to normalcy, I threw my feet off the bed, waddling my way towards them. “Hey,” I said to get his attention. He only nodded but didn’t say anything to me. Shrugging off the thought making rounds in my head, I groped my way towards the bathroom to clean up. Soon it was breakfast and the maid came to fetch us. I was already heading out when I discovered Gregory wasn’t tagging along. He was standing behind the window now that the kids were asleep. “Aren’t you coming down for breakfast?” I asked, my tone mild so as not to tick him off. Whatever it is that’s the problem, I had to th
Davies’s POVAt the seekers' lair, the moment Stephanie stepped out with the kids, I wanted to rush to her side and give her a bear hug but somehow, I was able to hold back from doing so.And when she ran to Gregory immediately, my heart shredded into a million pieces. So as not to dwell on the scene playing right beside me, I busied myself watching the fire that was rising into the sky.To keep Stephanie close, I had offered to host them for the night and to my delight, he accepted without making a fuss.Even with her presence and the fire crackling in the fireplace of the bar, the house was cold. With my back turned on them, I kept my gaze out of the windows as my heart clenched against my chest. Stephanie tried all she could to lighten the mood but Gregory was distant and just the same way she was hurt with his attitude, so was I. Pushing my hand into my pockets, I swirled around. It was then I discovered Stephanie had left Gregory to himself and I was glad she did. Was I happy
Stephanie’s POVFinally, it was all over. The seekers had all gone to fight Gregory and the army but none of them returned to the dimly lit hall for me and my kids, not even the old seeker. Scooping my kids in my arms, I placed a tender kiss on their foreheads, holding them to my chest as relief watched through me.The thought of losing one of them had made me terrified as cold chills ran through my spines. After kicking off the bowl the old seeker had placed my son in readiness for the sacrifice, I turned around to leave. They were fast asleep, so they were oblivious of what was happening around them. “This way." One of Gregory's soldiers said, steering me down a path which led out of the Seekers lair. The moment I stepped out into the bright night, I saw them. Gregory was standing tall with blood dripping down one side of his face while Davies stood behind him. “Raze down the cave." Davies commanded and immediately, the night erupted into bright flames. Still clutching my kids
Alpha Gregory’s POVFinally, it was the day of the ritual.Stephanie and the kids were finally going to return to me once more. All through the day, I was giddy with excitement that I couldn't sit still. The prospect of having my family back after several days was too good to be true that I couldn't think of anything else.“You should get some rest, it's going to be a long night." Davies had said to me countless times but I always shoved his words to the side. An hour before the ritual would begin, Davies and I went over our plans with our allies for the last time before we ventured into the dark night. The closer we got to the lair, the thicker the tension in the air. I bet I was the only one feeling this way because Davies and the others were unfazed. The Lycans moved in silence, their eyes glowing in the dark and their claws were extended and ready for the bloodshed to come. The Dragons towered above the
Stephanie's POVResting my back against the cold wall, I had my knees pulled up to my chin with my eyes all over the place. The only thing I could think about were my kids. Ever since we got abducted, I haven't been allowed to see them. Their incessant cries were the only thing that gave me hope that they were alive, nothing more. Holding my breath, I tried to pull myself to my feet but I couldn't as I was cramped. I have been confined to this little space and so I didn't have enough space to move my legs about. What should I do now? I was the seekers' target and not the kids. If anything happens to my innocent children, I will never be able to forgive myself.Suddenly, the sound of approaching footsteps in the hallway came to an end and almost immediately, the door creaked open and one of the seekers stepped in. Scrambling to my feet, I asked, “My kids, how are they? You said you were going to check with
Davies's POV With my hands tucked inside my pockets, I fixed my gaze on the flickering flames of the fireplace in my study. The room was warm, yet I felt cold. It wouldn't be long before I become completely frozen. Instead of going to meet Gregory in his pack, I had invited him over so we could plan on how to take down the seekers once and for all. It took us several hours but still, we have been unable to come up with something solid. Just when it seemed like we were getting a breakthrough, there would be an obstacle or a loophole that would leave us with no choice but to start all over again. The truth was, there was no perfect plan but of course, there was one which could be regarded as almost perfect. Infiltrating the seekers' hideout was the plan and unlike the last time when I was the only one who needed to be rescued, three delicate lives were on the line. And we intend to save them all.
Davies's POV It was getting more messy. Gregory was losing his head and as if that was not enough, he had resumed blaming me for being behind Stephanie's and the kid's abduction. Clasping my hands, I leaned against the window pane, allowing my eyes to travel the distance as different thoughts swirled around my head.It had been confirmed that the seekers had them but no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't locate their hiding place. Just when I was about to go berserk and kick things into the air, an idea struck and it sounded like the breakthrough I wanted. Instead of staying in the shadows and searching for the seekers current location, I will put myself out there so they will know what I was up to. My plan clicked and in less than twenty four hours, I was invited by the head of the seekers.Without wasting time, I embarked on the journey and on arrival since I was being expected, I was led right int
