Chapter 0006

As I realized what my sister had done, I looked over at her with a sense of betrayal. But when I locked eyes with my sister, I saw a look of satisfaction and triumph on her face. It was as if she had won some sort of twisted game and I was the loser. My sister's lips curled into a sinister smile as she looked down at me, reveling in the moment. Her eyes were bright with a sense of malicious glee, like a cat that had caught a mouse. I could almost see the gears turning in my sister's mind as if she was plotting her next move. It was the look of someone who had been waiting for this moment for a long time, who had been planning and scheming behind the scenes, and who was now finally seeing it all come to fruition. I felt a sense of dread and helplessness wash over me as I realized the depth of her sister's betrayal. I looked back at them and tried to explain my side of the story, but they simply refused to listen. I could feel the anger and frustration rising in me as I attempted to defend myself. It was like talking to a brick wall. I endeavored to elucidate my intentions, but they adamantly rebuffed my explanations. Their obstinacy made it feel as though my words were being redirected against me. "I was doing my job, you saw the coupon" I said, holding up my hands in an attempt to appear non-threatening, “I don’t have any other intent rather than this." "A pizza delivery girl, huh?" Lucas laughed derisively but the laughter was soon gone and in its place was a fang-baring sneer, more dangerous than the short-lived laugh. "What, did you think you could just waltz in here and snoop around without us noticing?" "I didn't waltz in anywhere!" I protested. "I was just doing my job, delivering a pizza that someone ordered." "Oh, sure," Larry said sarcastically. "And I’m supposed to believe you are telling me the truth?" "I didn't pick this house!" I stepped back, cowering as his prying gaze scanned me in violating scrutiny. I repeated my reasons but it was on deaf ears like I was talking to a brick wall "It was an order. Maybe you can ask your siblings questions, they might-" "Were you deaf when none of them admitted to ordering any Piza? Are you calling us Liars?" Lucas repeated a hint of demonic intent in his voice. "Have you suddenly gone mute, nerd? Answer me when I’m talking to you!" He reached forward and grabbed me by the collar before jamming his fists against my jaws and tightening his hands against my neck. My breath hitched as I began to cry. “I swear, I was just- I was just delivering Pizza.” The rest of my words were carried away by the wind and my cries. “Please!” "Are you ready to tell me the truth?" Lucas asked again, his intoxicating Alpha Aura very palpable, almost tangible. "Yes," I said, nodding eagerly. "And I swear, that's the only reason I'm here." Lucas looked at me skeptically, but after a moment, he seemed to soften a little. "Fine," he said. "Maybe you really are just a pizza delivery girl. But that still doesn't explain why you were poking around in our backyard." "I wasn't poking around" I protested. The tension in the air was thick enough to slice with a knife. The silence was deafening as Lucas held me tightly, his fingers digging into my skin. I could feel his hot breath on my neck as I struggled to break free. All around us, there was an expectation, a sense that something terrible was about to happen. Fear and anger intermingled in the air, creating an almost palpable aura of violence. Then suddenly, the tension was broken by the sound of Lincoln's voice. He called out Lucas's name, but Lucas just waved a finger at him, telling him that this wasn't the time. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I realized the severity of the situation. It was as if the world had frozen in time, and everything was moving in slow motion. My eyes were fixed on Lucas, and I could see the anger in his eyes as he continued to hold me. I knew that I had to do something to break the tension, to diffuse the situation
