Chapter 3

"Are you ok?" Sebastian asked in almost a whisper.

She was speechless. He had his arms wrapped around her and it felt as if her body had gone numb from his touch.

Her sea green eyes were lost into his smoldering gray ones. The left side of his lips turned up into a sexy smirk showing part of his extremely white teeth.

She thought of what it would be like to kiss him, imagined the feel of his strong, yet smooth hands against her soft naked flesh.

"Audrey!" Cassidy yelped as she ran up beside them pulling her from the daze.

Turning her head she saw Cass who looked as if she was trying her hardest not to burst out with laughter and all the guest who were just staring silently.

She felt Sebastian's arms loosen from around her while he helped her to stand straight. Embarrassment washed through who making her once again unsteady on the stilettos she still wore.

As she started to fall forward again Sebastian steadied her.

"Do you want to sit down?" he asked. All she could do was nod. He tightly gripped her hand making her heart race as he led her towards a chair.

Audrey's breathing grew faster as her skin tingled all the way up the arm of the hand he was holding. He slowly sat her down. Her lips began to feel dry even with the gloss glazed on them so she slid her tongue across them trying to give them some moisture.

His eyes blazed while his mouth parted slightly as he watched her.

"Thank you." she managed to barely whisper. He quickly blinked his eyes giving them an instantly softer look.

"Would you like something to drink?" he asked huskily. Audrey finally came back to reality and realized that she had just made a complete fool out of herself in front of a room full of strangers and HIM.

"Please." she answered then he turned and walked towards a server carrying a tray of glasses filled with champagne. "Oh my god!" Cassidy was laughing. I didn't even notice her standing right behind me. "I can't believe this! Honestly that's the funniest shit I ever saw."

"So you aren't mad that I practically ruined the ending of your show?" she questioned.

"Hell no! girl that made my night, The only thing I'm mad about is the fact that it wasn't me falling into the chiseled arms of that male god." She giggled.

"I'll be back I need to go give my closing speech for the night and get the attention back on me!" Cassidy smiled as she walked away.

Sebastian returned a few seconds later handing her the champagne.

"Thank you again." she managed to choke. She took a tiny sip from the glass not knowing how it would taste since she never really drank. The champagne exploded on her tongue it was delicious.

He looked at her in amusement. "If you think you will be alright here" he smiled "I need to make my way to the stage with with Ms. Corday for the closing speech."

She thanked him for the third time then he turned away heading towards Cassidy. Why would he need go to the stage? She finished the champagne and sat it on the tray of an elegantly dressed server that was passing by. Then reached down and took off the ill-fated shoes. As her nerves started to settle, and everyone's attention was on Cass. She quickly got up and headed for the dressing area to retrieve her own clothes.

She slid on her sneakers and grabbed the outfit she had worn there, not even bothering to change she quickly headed for the exit. She figured Cass Would be able to get back her dress later when she was home anyway. Audrey just wanted to get out of there. It definitely wasn't the way she had planned her evening and just wanted to be back in the comfort of her own surroundings. She hurriedly headed for the exit without a second thought.

"Why the hell did you leave last night?" Audrey looked up from her cup of coffee to see Cassidy stare at her with a hard glare.

"I just wanted to get out of there I made a fool of myself in front of hundreds of complete strangers on top of already feeling out of place."

Cassidy's face went soft as she listened to her friends answer.

"Audrey dammit when will you understand that you do fit in? Before you even fell you had everyone stunned in silence you were beautiful even Sebastian thought so." She said with a wink " And you didn't look like a complete fool I mean seriously nobody will even remember and its not like you will ever see any of them again."

"What do you mean Sebastian thought I was beautiful? He just probably felt sorry for me."

Audrey took the the last drink of her coffee then went to put the cup in the sink.

"Girl you seriously must be crazy, He looked like he wanted to eat you up the whole way down the runway. I was surprised he didn't try and take a bite of you when you fell into his arms." Cassidy laughed.

"Come on we gotta get out of here before I'm late and you are supposed to help me." Audrey hurried to her room to grab her jacket before her friend could say anything else.

The whole ride to work Audrey sat in silence thinking about the man with the gray eyes.

She had never really cared about what any guy thought of her because she knew she would probably always be alone anyway, but she just couldn't seem to quit thinking about Sebastian Hale.

There was something about him she just couldn't put her finger on and she really wanted to know what that something was.

Last night she had come home and laid in her bed for hours thinking of the way his arms had felt around her before she was able to finally fall asleep.

"AUDREY!!" She came back from her daze as her friend shouted. "Yeah" she said "Did you hear me were here."

Cassidy gave her a confused look as she paid the cab fair and got out.

Audrey followed her friend up to The Sugar Shack then unlocked the door.

She walked to the back and grabbed two aprons handing one to Cassidy then set off to pre-heat the ovens.

"Ok I'm going to start making the batter and I'll also cook them. Since you are already good with doing designs you can try and decorate the cupcakes when they are finished. So until they are done will you go get the front cleaned up and start setting out the stuff for the display cases we have about an hour before the breakfast rush. Tyler and Brianna should be getting here shortly for their shifts and they will be able to help you."

"Alright but I gotta be outta here by noon I need to go into my office and make sure everything goes smooth with my new line. Everything has to be perfect so they can be ready for the stores next month." Cassidy stated.

"That sould be fine it will only take about an hour and a half two at the most." Audrey said as she started to mix her ingredients together.

Two hours later they finished all the cupcakes and Audrey went to put them in the fridge until the customer would arrive later that day to pick them up.

She said goodbye to her friend then headed back into the kitchen to start making a few things that they were running out of in the front.

Later on as she was getting ready to leave Cassidy had called her to see if she would run by their apartment and grab a few of her folders and bring them to her because she didn't have time to run home and get them herself. So forty minutes later she found herself walking into the building that held Corday Fashions along with a few other different buisnesses. She went up the the security desk and told them what she was there for, a few minutes later she was in the elevator heading up to the 35th floor.
