Mag-log inCASSIAN'S POV I felt a bit of unease as I headed back to the industrial district. Shaking the thought from my head, I continued on my way. "How dare he," I muttered to myself, pounding my fist into the steering wheel. How bold of him to think he can just walk away from me. I made him, after everything I did for him and this is how he chooses to repay me? Without me there was nothing, now all of a sudden he feels he's better than me. My grip on the steering wheel tightened till my knuckles turned white. “Ahhhh” I screamed in frustration. I should have killed him when I had the chance, family or not. No one gets to betray me and get away with it. I should have killed her too, maybe then he'd remember who he belongs to. I drove through traffic, cutting off cars and running red lights. The sound of horns blared around me as drivers stuck their heads out their windows, screaming insults at me. I didn't care. Let them scream. Let them curse me they were nothing. Just ants in my way.
ELRIC'S POV "Sir! Sir! Sir!" Elias ran up to us panting, his face red and sweaty. He doubled over, hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. "What is it?" Marek asked, frowning. "Cassian... he's been sighted," he said breathlessly. I stood there staring at him Elias was known for his games. “If this is some sort of sick game of yours….” I warned. “I swear sir…some cameras in the industrial district, he came in from down town we spotted him about ten minutes ago” he breathed. "Are the feeds still live?" I asked "For now," Elias said. "But you know how it is. He keeps disappearing into dead zones." Dropping the box of ammunition I was carrying, I ran to the warehouse not even bothering to wait for Marek and Elias. Pushing through the warehouse doors, I asked, " Where is he? "I walked towards the monitors. The crew was already gathered around the screens. Leaning in close, I scanned the footage, and in one of them was Cassain in the same black sedan Spreading through
MARCUS'S POV "Hey Mom, I'm home," I called out as I walked through the front door. But she didn't answer. That was weird "Mom?" I called out again, my voice echoing through the empty hallway. My heart racing, I walked in and began looking around. Everything was fine. I told myself she was probably in the backyard or taking a nap. "Oh hey Marcus, over here," her voice floated from the kitchen. Relief washed over me instantly and I let out a sigh I didn't know I was holding. She was fine everything was okay. I walked into the kitchen wrapping my arms around her from behind and burying my face in her shoulders. I took a deep breath, taking in the smell of lavender and whatever she was cooking. "Hey, hey, what's all this?" she laughed, patting my arm. "You're squeezing the life out of me." "Sorry, Mom," I mumbled into her shoulder, not letting go. "Just happy to see you." She turned in my arms and looked up at me, her eyes searching my face"You look tired, mijo. Are you eating
MARCUS'S POV I walked out of the office after a while, making sure that Damien had left. That was a close call. Too close. My hands were still shaking as I stood in the empty hallway, staring at the door Damien had just walked through. He knew something was wrong, he wasn't a child and I knew he did by that lie I need to get more people to help secure my mom before making my next move. Ending it with Cassian, I was done with the lies, having to cover up for him every single time. I couldn't keep living like this, constantly looking over my shoulders, stuck in between the fear of Damien finding out and Cassian going crazy and deciding to take us all out. I got in my car and drove. Picking up my phone I dialed Cassian's number it rang twice before he picked up. “Well well to what do I owe this surprise cuz?” He asked in his lazy voice. “Can we meet at our usual spot downtown? It's really important” I said, not bothering to respond to his provocation. “I'm busy….” He began
ELRIC'S POV "Please send the footage as soon as possible," I say into the phone. "Thank you." Ending the call, I turn to face Marek. "More footage will be sent soon. Let's keep looking over the ones we have now." "Alright, you heard him, boys," Marek says to the crew. "Keep looking until you find him." For over two weeks now, we have been gathering surveillance footage from everywhere across town trying to locate Cassian. But it felt like looking for a needle in a haystack. This city was big, and a substantial amount of it wasn't covered in surveillance cameras. But we didn't stop looking. Hopefully, he pops up on one of the feeds. The hours dragged on and we rotated in and out taking turns looking at the grainy footage until our eyes teared up. Some fell asleep on the floor using their jackets and whatever they could find as pillows. Others were chugging down unreasonable amounts of coffee trying to stay awake, as Malek had banned them from taking alcohol until we found him..
JEREMY'S POV My stay in the hospital had been longer than necessary and was slowly becoming unbearable. After the attack, my room had been a constant rotation of officers. Some were stationed to protect me from another possible attack while the others were there to ask me questions. Questions I've answered several times before but somehow they were hoping that I remember something, another clue, maybe something that skipped my mind. Having to answer several questions was exhausting. Now I understood why some people get exhausted with the police. "You should be discharged today," Officer Reyes says. "Take it easy on yourself and don't go playing hero now." "Yeah, I know." We both know that I wasn't going to stop until I had Cassian. "Well… I'll be on my way," he says, standing up from the seat opposite me. "See you soon." "Thank you, sir." I watched him leave, the door closing behind him. I let out a long sigh and turned around to face the wall. After a few minutes, I heard t
