CHAPTER SEVEN

STAR'S POV

"Aunt Kate, I don't understand what I saw and how is it possible that I could see that ?"  I said to her but she didn't move or blink but she was staring at me. How is that possible? I placed my right hand on her chest and could not find her heart beat. It was then it hit me . She is dead . I felt the agonizing pain seeping through my veins and deep into my heart shattering it to pieces with every passing second. I looked into her eyes and could see how lifless it was. She felt cold , really cold . 

Coming close to her face I called out her name"Aunt Kate. Aunt Kate."  

"Star, she is gone." Alex spoke 

At that moment it began to snow. The earth seems to be in accordance with the predicament that just happened. Rocking back and front , I screamed "NO."  I felt every fiber in me vibrating and exploding. This can't be happening. It's a dream . It felt like a dream. 

Alex came to drag me saying"We need to leave"

I turned with so much force and held Alex by the neck pinning him painfully to the ground, surprising him and myself. How did that happen? . He looked shocked at first and surprised but later he smiled .

"Kate, we need to go. " Alex pleaded with me. 

I placed my legs to the ground to try to create enough fiction to prevent Alex from dragging me into the car. He turned and saw what I was doing. Bending down he threw me across his shoulder.

He placed me in the passenger seat slowly and looked straight into my eyes. Silently begging me to stay calm. I had no choice but to agree .He closed the door and was moving round the car to the driver's seat. I looked at Aunt Kate's body lying in front of our house. Looking so cold and lifeless with little sprinkle of snow on her body. I never knew how losing a loved one felt like. Placing both my hands over my face, I weeped so hard . My whole body was vibrating with each sob . My heart felt like it had been torn apart. I couldn't breathe well. Everything seemed blurry and was in slow motion. Alex looked far from my reach. I was seeping deeper and deeper into the darkness and I welcomed it. Anything that could ease this pain . 

"Star , Star stay with me."  I could hear Alex from a distance, begging me to stay . With Aunt Kate gone , I feel alone in this world. The world is cruel. And whoever did that to her. Is a heartless being. 

"Avenge my death. "  a voice said to me but it didn't sound like Aunt Kate's voice. 

"The enemy lies within." That's Aunt Kate but what enemy and why would I have an enemy , I have done no wrong to anyone.

I saw a little girl weeping . She looks just like me . 

I rushed to her side and asked "Why are you crying?"

She pointed somewhere. I followed her hand and saw two dead bodies. A man and a woman. Walking slowly towards the body, I saw scratches all over their bodies. The same scratches that were on Aunt Kate's body. I turned to where the little girl was and she was gone. When I turned to see where the dead bodies were, I came face to face with the bodies. I screamed awake . Gripping the sheets ,I rolled myself on the bed in the form of a ball and was rocking backwards and forwards. Alex came rushing into the room to my side . I rushed and hugged him.

" It's just a dream"he tried soothing me.

He brought his lips to my forehead and kissed it. Looking into his eyes I heard someone clear his throat. I looked towards the door and saw two guys. I'm sure they both came in with Alex and I didn't notice. One had short brown hair, blue eyes, a bit built but short. He looked handsome and friendly. The other had average length black hair , brown eyes, built and tall. He too was handsome but he had a serious face. And he was looking directly at me.  

Alex stood up , introducing them he said "This is Ethan and Justin. My close friends."  

The blue eyes which I presumed Justin came to me and hugged me"Welcome to the family . Gush you are beautiful." 

I smiled back at him.

Ethan's brown eyes, which is Ethan, came to me and just nodded his head. What a nice way to introduce yourself.

Speaking to Alex I asked " Won't you introduce me ?"

Alex responded "They know you already."

I was left dumb founded.

"Close your mouth little one." Ethan said before leaving the room.

Raising an eyebrow as he left, I asked "What's wrong with him?"

" Don't worry you will get used to him. " Justin said while coming close to me and added while licking his lips."You do look hot by the way. " 

"JUSTIN, hands off." Alex warned

Throwing his hands in the air as a sign of surrendering , Justin said"Ok ok, relax. My hands are off. Star welcomed home once again" then he left.

I smiled at his back.

"Get dressed, I need to introduce you to someone." Alex said this kissing me on the forehead. 

I nodded in response. And he was gone.

I went to the bathroom to take a shower. It was as classic as Mr Alex looked but more colorful. When I was done , picking a light blue medium size towel, I left the room. There was a pile of clothes on the bed and some footwears close to the bed stand. 

ALEX'S POV

"You brought her here. Seriously?" Ethan said with so much annoyance .

"Where do you expect me to take her,an orphanage?"  I responded to Ethan.

Ethan continued "It's not yet the blood moon . She staying in the same room with you is a bad idea. What if she is not yet ready, what if."

"She is ready." I answered him.

"And what makes you think she is ready. I'm sure she is not aware that you are a wolf , an Alpha at that . And she is the " Ethan kept talking .

Seriously, what is his problem? 

Looking directly at him I said  "I will tell her, when she is ready. "

He scoffed, repeating "When she is ready."

"Ethan, what exactly is your problem? Do you find it improper for Star to be close to Alex?"  Justin asked at the entrance of the study. You could see right through him that he was annoyed with what Ethan said.

"I am not answering that. Do whatever you want Alex. "  Ethan said this while storming out of the study.

I sighed. Facing Justin I asked "What did I do wrong ?"

Justin was surprised at my sudden question and suggested "Of course not . Don't listen to Ethan , you know how he is. Just let him be,he will come around."

rubbed on the face of a wound. When Baldwin died, that's Alex's father. I lost every reason to smile because I loved him so much. He was my knight in shining armor. When I found out that I was pregnant with Alex . I felt alive , I could see a new Ray of light and thought Baldwin had come back to me, I treasured every moment with Alex . From his first baby step to his first baby word. In our deepest and darkest moments, there is always  a new Ray of Hope and when it comes , grab that opportunity and never let it go no matter what."

She said all this looking at me. 

I smiled at her . She gave the most comforting words. But something or someone crossed my mind.

"If you don't mind asking. Mr. Baldwin, please let me know when and how he died?"  I asked with curiosity.

She looked confused and said "Nineteen year ago in a car crash. Why do you ask?" 

I answered "Well I met someone who looks exactly like Alex some days back . A bit mature but same eyes, nose everything."

"What is his name?"  She asked 

Shrugging I answered her "He didn't say, he just said I should tell Alex that he is an old friend." 

"Did you tell Alex ?" She held me by the shoulder

"No I didn't, I didn't see it as a big deal." I responded to her with my voice laced with worry.

"When I need to let him know immediately" she said this running towards the house.

"Is there a problem?" I asked her.

"Just come with me." she waved back at me.
