“What do you think you’re doing here?!” the person who had caught me in a chokehold yelled to call to the attention of the soldiers around me.

The soldiers drew their weapons and aimed them at the person who was holding me by my neck.

“Let her go, and we will let you go,” Simon threatened, but I could see the look of worry in his eyes as he stepped forward with a glare, but the person pulled me back and away from them.

From the hiss that he let out, I could tell it was a vampire.

“You don’t want me to call for backup,” he threatened the soldiers. “Put down your weapons. There are people around that have their eyes on you. Don’t do something stupid that could risk the life of a child who hasn’t even been born.”
