The Aftermath

It had been days since I'd vanquished the Ancient One, and yet something still felt off. Perhaps it was the lingering magic—or maybe just nerves? In any case, everyone else seemed much happier than I was.

Even with my esteemed title of a hero for saving this small town in Colorado from a coven of witches. But I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Something was very wrong.

I had been wandering around town for hours, trying to figure out what was bothering me so much, only to find the townspeople were celebrating and the children were laughing. Even the spiders seemed to be smiling. It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining brightly overhead and nothing but blue skies ahead.
