Lying on my side in the room that I have been assigned I stare at the wall that I have been making little marks on to count the days. You know like they do in the prison movies. I’ve been here for about a week. Memories of home from when I was younger are what are keeping my hope alive for me. Quinn will find me, I know he will. April POVTwo months before Meg’s abduction Well, it turns out that the weird dream wasn’t from the spicy food I’d eaten. I have had the same dream off and on since. It always ends the same way, the woman picks up the boy, there is a second loud bang and I wake up in bed. This morning I figured out what is triggering it, cherry pie. Meg POVPresentI’ve been here now for two weeks, I think. I heard some of the guards talking about how someone has turned out to be a traitor, but they’re not surprised because of who his father was. I’ve been getting a better idea of how their patterns work. April POVOne week before Meg’s abductionI just can’t understand it. Why is it so hard to find the source of the cherry pie smell? I have picked it up in random places. Some of the halls outside my classes, the store and even in the hall outside my apartment. Some of those times I had seen Rick in the area, but I know it’s not him.
