CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Roman Voss sat beside Amelia,his voice hoarse as he spoke.

"Please wake up soon,I am sorry for all i ever did to hurt you."

He held her cold hands softly,pecking her before rubbing his against hers softly.

He still could not believe it.

Triplets for him.

She was pregnant, and somehow,he still managed to hurt her...

But why did she hide it from him? Was he such a monster that she is so scared to tell him?

She carried everything all by herself,alone.

Somehow, that made him feel guilty. He clenched his fist as he recal,ed what his mum and sister had done yesterday.

As if that was not enough,someone had the audacity to hurt her this badly again. The accident was staged, and he vowed to find the culprit that dared to hit her woman!

"No one will dare bully you again!" He whispered coldly as he watched her sleep.

Peacefully, and what hurt the most was not her getting hurt,it was simple the fact that she did not trust him enough to tell him about her pregnancy.

"I am promising you,no one will dare,not when you have suffered this much."

What if he had not call,what if-

He shivered at the thought. Shaking his head, he checked his rolex watch,the time read 5 am.

He had been here since last night, and he still did not want to leave.

He slowly walked towards the window,dark circle evident in his face..

He was tired,not the physical kind of tired.

The one that comes from too many emotions,the kind that refuses to wear off even if one tried.

He sighed,he needed her to wake up soon.

He stood still as the nurse walked in. She greeted him and started checking Amelia's vitals.

He stood still,not wanting to leave.

But he had to,he needed to see his grandma off,she is getting discharged today.

He stretched himself as he groaned, and his neck and back were stiff.

His gaze went down to her tummy, and he slowly touched it.

"I promise you,you are save now,amelia.You and our babies." He softly spoke,his voice carried gentleness,the kind reserved for only amelia.

Back at Grandma Pia's ward,she was preparing to leave

None of them knew about Amelia's accident because He made sure no blogger dared to post it.

He swore to destroy anyone when he phoned the media minister last night.

He clenched his fist as he saw his mother and sister.

"Are you happy now?!" Juliana turned,shocked at his angry voice.

"Why are you yelling, what-"

"If not for you,Amelia wouldn't be in a coma! You two pushed her towards that accident! "

He yelled, annoyance laced in his tone, but he paused,he also had a hand in this.

Juliana froze. She had a phobia for accidents after the one that happened four years ago. Tears pooled in her eyes as she thought of what might have happened to Amelia.

She dare not ask.

Grandma Pia was first to speak.

"I clearly told you all that amelia did not hurt me! I said i wanted to see her, but you two sent her away!"

For the first time in a long while,Grandma Pia yelled at all of them.

Poor Amelia,she broke into sob as she wondered how bad Amelia would look.

"Take me to her!"

As Grandma saw amelia, she broke into full-blown sob.

Amelia's body was connected to a different tube,her head and arm bandaged.

She looked almost too peaceful,like the world had not hurt her so bad.

Damien walked towards Roman, who stood by the window side.

"Boss,I have info."

They both walked outside.

"What did you find?" he asked impatiently as soon as they stepped outside.

"Sir,the car that hit Miss Amelia's Uber was deliberately following them from the hospital."

His jaw tightened at the statement, and Damien continued.

"This is the cctv voltage from the front of the hospital,"

The video showed a dark car packed across the road, and immediately amelia walked into the Uber, and it began following them.

"Find that bastard! "

"Yes sir, we are working on it,we found out the plate number is fake, sir."

"Try harder,tell the investigating team to work overtime,send them money! I dont care how much it costs!"

Back at Amelia's home,Zelda had spent the night with their mother,mrs. hale, who was going to be discharged soon.

She phoned amelia last night, but no one picked up,she simple concluded that amelia might be asleep.

But as she walked towards the house,"Amelia?!"

She tried not to freak out as she entered.

She rushed into Amelia's room but no single sign of Amelia.

she took her phone dialing Amelia's number.

ot rung. twice then thrice but no answer.

Panic finally took over.

She phoned Steve.

He picked up.

"Amelia -" she choked on her words as tears rushed down her eyes.

"Hey,calm down,okay? What happened? "

"Doctor,she is missing! It barely 6 and I can't find my sister!"

"Calm down,what if she has gone for the job interview-"

"No! My sister is missing, and the interview was concluded yesterday!"

Steve muttered shit as his movement was rushed on the other side.

"Come right to the hospital,"

"Okay,please don't let my mum know," she spoke softly as she wiped her tears.

Amelia is pregnant,what might have happened to her?

Roman stood at his office,he could barely think.

His mind was not with him,all that was in his thought was amelia, and when she would wake up.

The doctor warned that her being in come could affect the pregnancy.

Before Grandma left the hospital,she threatened to never speak with him if Amelia loses the babies,her grandchildren.

He, too, would hate himself if she loses their babies.

His mother and sister avoided him completely,guilt written in their expressions.

He clenched his fist ,he needed to see amelia.

He rushed out of his office,walking towards the elevator,completely ignoring whatever his assistant was telling him.

Annabelle,his assistant, shook her head as she wondered why he looked so worried and tired.

As soon as Roman stepped out,he froze, seeing a young girl stepping out of a car.

He recognized her as Amelia's sister, who once begged him at the hospital pavement a few weeks ago.

Even though he had been sending money,both of them had not met since that incident

His face slowly turned apologetic.

Guilty,he slowed his pace.

"Where is my sister! What have you done to her!"

She screamed as she rushed towards him,with steve,holding her back, but she was trashing in his arms.

"No,leave me alone. Where is my sister! If anything happens to amelia,I would never forgive you!"She burst into tears as she cried in Steve's arms
