CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN: BLACK MAIL

I walked into my office on time today. When I stepped off the elevator Shane was right there, by my side, that second cup of coffee in his hand.

“Good morning Raine,” He said as he gave me the cup, keeping up in my steps.

“Good Morning Shane,” I said, leading the way. “I didn’t realize we were on a first name basis at work.” He smiled.

“Yeah, it's just something I’m trying. Besides, I am not the only one that calls you that. You were just trying to keep me in my place.” I chuckled. He had that right.

“Why are you so dressed up?”

“I didn’t think you’d notice,” he answered. I stopped, turning to face him. He wore black pants and a blue buttoned up tuck in. There was even a matching jacket. Not quite a suit, but not quite casual. His hair was tamed and I could tell he took a few extra minutes on it today. His cologne was also noticeable, and he left a trail of Ocean Breeze down the aisle.
