"Thank you all. Class is over," Wallace said, smiling at Aurora before adding, "Aurora and Maxwell, please follow me to my office," he instructed as he left the classroom.

The other students buzzed with excitement as they stood up and left the room. A few remained seated, their eyes fixed on Aurora and Maxwell.

Aurora ignored her classmates’ stares. She was lost in thought, puzzled by why Professor Wallace had asked to see her in his office.

She began to wonder, ’Why did he call me? Does he know my true identity?’

Amused, she shook her head and dismissed her silly thoughts. The professor couldn’t recognize her; she was now Aurora Spencer.

"Why does the professor want to see you? And why did he also call Max?" David’s voice jolted Aurora from her confusion. She realized she didn’t have any answers.

Aurora remained silent, merely shaking her head, before rising from her chair and walking toward the door, following the others out of the room.

She overheard them gossiping about her appearance as they walked toward the door. Ignoring their words, she quickened her step.

David hurried to keep up with Aurora, scolding some of their classmates who were openly commenting on her unusual appearance.

"Don’t you all have anything better to do? Stop talking about Aurora!"

David’s voice echoed loudly enough to silence them momentarily. Still, it didn’t take long for the chatter to resume as they ignored him.

Once they reached the hallway, which was less crowded than it had been during class, Aurora finally asked David, "What’s wrong with them?"

"They’re just like me," David replied, narrowing his eyes at her. "You look suspicious, Aurora. I told you yesterday that you look different than usual. You never wear a cap to hide your beautiful hair like you did yesterday."

Aurora silently clenched her hand. She chose to wear a cap because she disliked her hair color.

David chuckled as he noticed Aurora’s eyes widen, clearly shocked.

He added, "You usually wear makeup, but today, you didn’t. I have to say, while I prefer your natural look, it feels strange to see you without any."

"It’s fine, Aurora. I understand. Maybe you’re still mourning the loss of your father, which is why you..." He fell silent, watching her walk away, leaving him behind.

Inwardly, he laughed and quickly ran after her.

"Wait, Aurora! Don’t be mad at me. I’m just being honest. You’re actually prettier without makeup."

Aurora shot him a glance as he walked beside her.

"But you know, Aurora, what confuses me even more is your odd attitude?"

"What? What attitude?" Aurora asked, puzzled.

"You’re ignoring your crush, Max. Usually, you sit beside him in class and cling to him, but today, you’re completely shunning him. This isn’t like you at all. Why are you ignoring him?"

David smiled and rubbed his neck when he noticed that Aurora had stopped and was looking at him.

Aurora couldn’t refute David’s words; however, she couldn’t explain what had happened to her now that she had become an entirely different person.

She was also shocked to learn that Aurora Spencer had two crushes: Alexander Graystone and Max. What surprised her even more was realizing that both men were connected to her past life.

Alexander Graystone was her boss, someone she encountered daily, while Max was Danny Hamilton’s youngest brother.

Countless questions swirled in her mind, making her feel like her brain was about to split apart.

’How could this happen? What did these coincidences mean? Why did God send me back into this young girl’s body to meet all the people from my previous life!?’

Before Aurora could respond to David’s question, a charming, deep voice suddenly interrupted from behind.

"Can you both move?"

Aurora and David were stunned.

They turned in the direction of the voice and saw Max standing there, looking at them with annoyance. His dark gray eyes flashed with impatience.

Aurora was taken aback to see him so close. This was the first time she had encountered him since her last visit to Hamilton’s residence on Danny’s birthday a few years ago. He had grown into a fine young man and now appeared taller than she was.

’Wow! Why do I feel so old now? This little boy has transformed into such a handsome young man. But why does he look so annoyed with me? No way, Max dislikes Aurora Spencer, does he?’ she thought, feeling speechless.

She remembered little Max from her previous encounters as a cute boy who always smiled at her whenever they met. He was completely different from the young man standing before her now.

’Geez, Max, you look so serious—just like your big brother, Danny. Can you show me your cute smile...’

"Move!" Max spoke again when he saw them staring at him without moving a single step.

Aurora was shocked when something crossed her mind; she could not hear Max’s words.

’Oh my God! Do they know about my incident? They could be waiting for me all night at Serendipity, right?’ Aurora suddenly felt a chill as images of Renata and Danny flashed through her mind.

"Aurora, if you want to stare at me, please stop. And move! I need to go to the professor’s office..." Max’s icy tone broke through Aurora’s thoughts.

She tried to control her emotions, hiding them behind a faint smile at Max. She stepped aside to let him pass without saying anything, but her eyes remained fixed on him as he walked away, heading toward Professor Wallace’s office.

...

Seeing Aurora freeze in place, David let out a deep sigh.

He waited a few seconds for her to proceed toward the professor’s office, but she didn’t take a step.

Earlier in class, David had hoped to pursue Aurora after noticing how she ignored Max and showed no interest in him.

However, his hopes were now dashed. Aurora still had a crush on Max, even though he consistently ignored her.

Unable to hold back any longer, he asked, "Aurora, are you just pretending not to like Max anymore, or have you really given up on him?"

Aurora let out a deep sigh in response to David’s question. She never liked Maxwell; to her, he was merely a spoiled brat. But, she couldn’t tell David that she was not Aurora Spencer.

"Oh, do you really want to know? Alright. I have given up on him," was the only reasonable thing she could say.
