His lips felt warm and heavy against mine, tasting faint of the liquor he had been drinking. The kiss was slow, deep, and steady, taking away every single bit of air left in my lungs.

My mind screamed at me to pull away, to push against his broad chest. But as his hand moved from my wrist up to the small of my back, pressing my body tight against his chest, my hands betrayed my own thoughts. They reached up on their own, wrapping around his broad shoulders to hold onto him.
