Chapter 39 Wounded

"Izayah? What exactly took place?" Esme slowly sat up while supporting her head with her hand.

"You were unconscious for a while, so I called the ambulance, but you wouldn't let me go no matter how hard they tried to release me from your grip, so they could only wait for you to come to." Izayah shed some light.

"What? I held you?." The color of Esme's face turned a shade of red as she held his shoulders.

"Ouch! Please don't hold me in such a tight grip." Izayah showed a faint sign of discomfort.

"Are you hurt? Let me see!." It didn't take Esme long to unbutton his shirt. His entire body was covered in cuts and bruises, and the lower part of his abdomen was bleeding from multiple wounds.

"Why didn't you let the doctors treat you when you were sick? You let them leave!." Izayah, who was the target of Esme's glare, laughed in a sheepish manner.

"It doesn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would... Esme~~" Izayah whimpered after Esme gave his arm a very slight pinch.
