The boy looked at me, then at the man standing behind me before he spoke.

“In private.” He said.

He shared another look with Colin who I imagine must have given him a nasty glare, forcing the boy to plead, “Please, Mr Chris, let me talk to you privately.”

I looked at him suspiciously for a minute but I understood the world he was coming from. It was dark, deep and full of secrets and they had people everywhere.

“Can you excuse us for a while Detective Colin?” I asked the police detective standing behind me.

I could tell he wasn’t pleased about the idea from his gruff voice as he replied. “Are you sure about that sir?”

“Yeah, I can handle this.” I said.

Colin reluctantly left the room but he was standing outside.

“Sir, please reach beneath the table and disconnect the recording device underneath it.” The boy said immediately Colin left the room.

There’s a recording device beneath the table? I suddenly didn’t feel pity for the boy anymore. He must have been in many interrog
