Chapter 1

On the day I was exiled, my once best friend looked coldly at me from beside the altar.

Having suffered from organ failure for many years, I remained barely alive with the help of medication. My hands and feet were bound to the pillars of the altar by heavy iron chains.

A sculpture of the Moon Goddess was right opposite me, looking at me with a serious expression as if she were judging my crime.

The altar was crowded with people looking at me with disgust as they whispered to each other. Some people even threw vegetable leaves and rotten eggs at me.

A middle-aged man ran up like a madman, strangling my neck and roaring, "Nyla, why are you covering up for the murderer? Sienna was about to find the murderer, but you destroyed all the clues. How could Kiera have a friend like you? You monster! You caused Kiera to die an unjust death and my family to be ruined. Go to hell!"

Looking at the faint wolf expression on his face, I knew he was trying his best to suppress his anger.

If I really died, the murderer would never be found.

The crowd was indignant, scolding me, "That monster! Her best friend was raped, and she knew the killer but wouldn't say a word!"

"Kiera's mother knelt outside her door for three days and three nights before finally collapsing from exhaustion and ending up in the hospital, but she still wouldn't open the door."

"She even planted Wolfsbane around her house. I'll make her taste it today!"

The crowd threw Wolfsbane at me. The thorny leaves scratched my face, and a burning sensation spread throughout my body.

Sienna stood by, watching coldly as I screamed in agony. She used to be the kindest person to me besides my mother; now she hated me the most. Ten years ago, she, Kiera, and I were the closest friends.

After Kiera committed suicide after being raped, the two of us investigated the murderer to get justice for her.

One night, I received an anonymous phone call, telling me to meet him alone in the forest; he would tell me the murderer's true identity. Despite knowing it might be a trap, I decided to take the risk for Kiera's sake. I burned all the evidence once I got home. I also warned Sienna not to conduct any further investigations.

The sudden change infuriated Sienna, who believed I covered up for the murderer because I made a deal with him.

She was not wrong; I had indeed made a deal with the murderer.

Sienna approached me, still looking at me with that same intense disgust. "I didn't want this, Nyla. I'll let you go if you just tell me who the murderer is. You should know what kind of desolate place you are being exiled to, right? The rogue wolves there are ruthless and heartless."

Despite being tormented by Wolfsbane until I was dizzy, I clenched my teeth, refusing to utter a sound.

Sienna sighed. "Don't blame me then."

A woman in black robes walked out from behind her.

"This is the witch I've hired. She can use dark magic to synchronize your memories with everyone present. Once the dark magic begins, your body will feel like it's being torn apart and there will be no chance to stop."

I instantly snapped back to reality and struggled desperately, making the chains on my hands and feet clank loudly. I screamed, "No, no! Don't share my memories!"

Sienna sneered, strangling my neck and saying viciously, "Do you know why I fought so hard to become the Alpha Female, even going so far as to kill my loser brother?"

She gritted her teeth as if she wanted to tear me apart and devour me. "It's all for getting justice for Kiera today."

I pleaded with tears in my eyes. "Sienna, please."

Sienna sneered and replied, "What exactly happened that night? Did you make some deal with the murderer? Let's reveal the truth!"

The witch raised her wand, and a purple beam pierced my brain.

My head instantly throbbed with excruciating pain as if my soul and body were being torn apart. My face contorted as I screamed in agony.

However, the more I suffered, the more excited the audience became. The shouts also grew louder.

The next second, my memories appeared in everyone's minds.

I had a very long dream. In my dream, I saw Kiera walking up to me with a smile. I could no longer hold back my emotions, hugging her and bursting into tears. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry..."Kiera said nothing, holding me quietly and waiting until I was crying so hard that I could hardly breathe. Only then did she raise her hand to wipe away my tears gently."Are you here to pick me up?" I knew my time was running out. It might not be a bad thing if I were taken to heaven by Kiera like this.Just as I was quietly waiting for death to come, Kiera gave me a sudden push, and I felt as if I had fallen into an abyss. As I fell, at the very last moment, I saw Kiera's lips move a little as if she said something.I woke up suddenly and realized that I was in a hospital. The bedside was filled with flowers that people sent.I stared blankly at the ceiling, recalling what Kiera had said to me at the end of my dream. Although I could not hear her clearly, I still could tell from her lips. She sai

Now, everyone targeted Sienna, calling her the daughter of a rapist and unworthy of being the Alpha Female. The situation got out of control for a while.Sienna came to her senses amid the barrage of attacks. Her voice was broken as she eagerly asked her mother to give her an explanation. "You knew it all along, didn't you? You knew my father was the murderer. Why didn't you tell me?"Sienna roared loudly, her voice deafening.Sally sighed, "I did it for the pack. If your father's matter were exposed, the reputation of the pack would be greatly damaged. How would the Alphas of other packs view us and cooperate with us?"The crowd was enraged."You wasted the life of a teenage girl just because it damaged your reputation. You weren’t doing it for the pack; you were doing it for yourself.""You guys lived comfortably, but Nyla has been burdened with a bad reputation and suffered so much injustice for years. Can you offset all of it just because you say it was for the pack?"Sienn

"Are my eyes deceiving me? Isn't... Isn't that the previous Alpha?""Sienna’s been looking for the murderer for so many years, but unexpectedly, it’s her own father."On the altar, Sienna stared at the face in front of her in disbelief, her pupils dilating in terror. "No... No way. No way!"Sienna jumped up, grabbed the witch by the collar, and questioned, "There must be something wrong with Nyla's memory, or something wrong with your magic. How could the murderer be my father?"The witch shook Sienna's hand off, adjusted her collar, and answered indifferently, "I'm the most powerful witch in the entire western region. I never make a mistake. Besides, Nyla's memory is fine. The murderer is your father. This is the truth!"Sienna still could not believe the truth and muttered to herself, "No way. No way..."The memory did not end here. Sienna still held onto the last shred of hope. Maybe the murderer was not her father; he had merely come to reveal the truth. In my memory, I was

"Look, it's the night when Nyla met the murderer. The murderer is about to come out."It rained heavily that night, and I came alone to the forest where we had agreed to meet. The muddy path was extremely slippery, with wolfsbane growing on both sides of the path. One could easily cut their skin and get poisoned if not careful.Although I was frightened, I still gathered my courage and moved forward to get the truth. Holding an umbrella, I shouted into the darkness, "I've come at the time we agreed to meet. You promised to tell me who the murderer is."Apart from the sound of raindrops hitting the leaves, there was no response.Suddenly, a flash of lightning streaked across, and a man in black stood less than three steps away from me. I was so frightened that I fell to the ground, covering my body in mud.Sienna trembled all over, almost losing self-control. She asked the witch, "Where's his face? Why can't I see the face?"The witch remained calm and replied, "Dark magic can onl

"What's going on? Where is the murderer? What on earth happened that night?"Sienna also frowned and turned her head to ask the witch, "What's going on? Why can't we see the murderer's face?"The crystal ball in the witch's hand was shrouded in a foul mist. She once again intensified her black magic, but they still could not see clearly. The witch said, "I never thought she would go to such lengths to prevent people from seeing her memories. She's using pain to suppress the memory sharing."It was at this moment that Sienna noticed that a sharp silver piece had appeared in my hand at some point. It was piercing my palm, and a large amount of blood was flowing down my palm. This time, Sienna looked at me with not only hatred but also a hint of confusion. "Nyla, who on earth is the murderer that would make you go to such great lengths for him? You're even sacrificing your own life to protect him."Ten years ago, Sienna also asked me this question, still with that extremely disappoi

One stormy night, Sienna broke down in tears, hugging Kiera's already cold body. "Kiera, don't die!"The rain slid down Sienna's face. She was soaked through, but she did not notice it at all.Kiera had a silver dagger stuck in her chest, and the blood had stained Sienna's white shirt red.I stood aside, numbly watching everything before me, unable to believe that this was true. When I got home in a daze and closed the door, I curled up on the ground and burst into tears. It was as if that silver dagger had pierced my chest.Seeing me in utter grief, everyone present was puzzled."What's going on? She looks very sad.""Didn't she cover up for the murderer? Why is she pretending to be a good person here?"Kiera's father scoffed. "If it weren't for her, my daughter wouldn't have died an unexplained death. Kiera's mother has now lost her mind from missing Kiera too much. All of this is thanks to her!"A woman with disheveled hair trembled as she made her way through the crowd and
