Warren’s POV

Desiree dragged me through the oversized doors of the dance hall. A heavy bass pulsed inside. I still couldn’t believe I’d let her talk me into this.

After Paris, I’d given up hope of finding Vienna. Honestly… I wasn’t even sure what the point was anymore. What could I say if I did find her? She’d probably take one look at me and walk away.

Desiree had barely spoken to me for weeks after we got back. She’d been cold, sharp-edged. Still furious I’d dragged her to France under false pretenses.

I’d apologized, more than once. But nothing seemed to thaw her. Instead, she let me keep trying, taking advantage of my willingness to do anything to make it right.

So when she asked—no, told—me last week that I was coming to a Halloween party with her, I hadn’t even pretended I had a choice.

Now here we were. Desiree was dressed in a tight latex Catwoman suit, complete with black ears, a sleek tail, and a whip hanging from her hip.

And me? I was Wolverine. Extendable claws and all.

Warren’s POVDid I seriously just say that? Damn it! My hangover had my brain in shambles."Shit—Vienna, I didn’t mean… I didn’t mean to say it like that," I stammered, panic rising. "It’s not what it sounds like. I didn’t sleep with her. She kissed me, but I pushed her away. I swear."There was a pause, then a deep sigh on the other end of the line. "Warren, I don’t care what you do or don’t do with your manipulative stepsister. That’s not my business anymore.""Please don’t say that," I said, my voice cracking. "I know I don’t deserve to ask anything from you. But you need to hear this—Desiree lied about everything. All of it."She didn’t respond, so I continued rambling. "The suicide attempt, the video… even that night in her bed. She drugged me, Vienna. She put something in my drink. I didn’t touch her. Nothing happened. She admitted it all. And I feel like the biggest fucking idiot for not seeing it sooner."There was silence. Then, softly: "She… drugged you?""Yes," I whispered.

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 152 - Breakfast with a Side of Shock

Vienna’s POVAfter hauling a very drunk fire fairy up the stairs—laughing the whole way and tripping twice—I finally got her into my room. Zanele flopped onto my bed in a dramatic heap. I gently removed her glittering crown and unstrapped her delicate wings. She mumbled something about sexy chocolatiers and passed out immediately.Shaking my head with a smile, I tiptoed into the bathroom to strip off my corset and costume. The hot shower felt like heaven against my skin. When I emerged a while later, fresh, warm and wrapped in only a towel, I walked straight into someone."Oops!" I gasped, jumping back a little.Raphaël stood in the hallway, his skeleton makeup slightly smudged from the night. He looked down at me, a crooked grin spreading across his face."Ah, pardon, Mademoiselle Harlequin," he said, stumbling aside with a mock bow. "Or… perhaps I should say Venus from the bath?"I gave a short laugh, suddenly aware of how close we were. "I think I’ve retired from theater for tonigh

Warren’s POVI woke up to the shrill sound of my phone ringing. It felt like a thunderclap exploding inside my skull."Ugh…" I groaned, fumbling around for the source of the noise. Finally, I found the phone in the back pocket of my jeans. I pressed it to my ear, my voice hoarse and groggy. "Hello?""Morning, sir. This is Charles," came the familiar voice of my butler. "I can’t come in today. My daughter broke her arm."That sobered me slightly. "I’m sorry to hear that, Charles. Take care of her. Don’t worry about a thing.""Appreciate that, sir. Just a quick reminder—the garbage truck will be making its rounds shortly.""Ah… yes. Thanks." I pinched the bridge of my nose. "All the best to your daughter."I ended the call with a sigh and dropped the phone onto the coffee table. For a long moment, I just sat there, staring at the wall as images from last night came rushing back.Desiree’s drunken flirting, her hands all over me, her lips pressing against mine.I winced and scrubbed a ha

Vienna’s POV"I still think you should’ve gone as a sexy pastry," Zanele said as she tied my corset. "Like… a croissant with a slit."I laughed. "Yeah. No thanks."Zanele stepped around to face me, giving me a once-over. "Holy crap. Vienna, you look insane. In a good way."I glanced at myself in the mirror and barely recognized my own reflection. I’d dressed up as a Venetian Harlequin. A mix of elegance and eerie mystery. My dress was black and deep crimson velvet, flaring theatrically beneath the lace corset. My intricate mask was metallic gold, with swirls of black and red around the eyes. My hair was curled in loose ringlets and threaded with small feathers and satin ribbons. A painted-on smile in burgundy lipstick curled across my lips."Tell me that’s not badass," I said, striking a pose."You look like you stepped straight out of a Tim Burton opera," Zanele said. She gave a twirl in her own costume—a dazzling fire fairy, complete with glittering wings and a crown of flame-color

Vienna’s POV"W–what?" I nearly choked on my tea, completely thrown off guard. My heart thudded. "You’ve got some nerve," I added, trying to keep my voice steady. He smirked now. "Listen… if it helps, I have a strict no-kissing-the-roommate policy. It's terrible for the rent dynamic."I scoffed. "That’s a policy?""Very official," he said with mock sincerity. "Even printed it out once. Big bold letters. Fridge-worthy."Despite myself, I laughed. Just a little. Then crossed my arms. "Good. Because I have a no-falling-for-egotistical-chocolatiers policy.""Excellent," he said, stepping aside and gesturing toward the hallway with a theatrical bow. "Glad we’re on the same page. Now go enjoy your... totally real dinner plans."I rolled my eyes and started walking away."Vienna?" he called after me.I turned halfway."If you change your mind, there’s an extra bowl with your name on it."I didn’t answer, just gave him a slight nod and closed my door behind me.As it clicked shut, I leaned aga
