Chapter 12

Lyra's pov

I walked up to the door with thoughts and questions raging in my head.

I still don't see how I got here. None of this was my fault. I turned to make one last plea.

I was ready to take the blame.

I just needed my mother in these hard times, heck, who was I going to tell of my ordeal with that wild earlier?

“Mother please, we don't have to do this, not again” I pleaded.

“Mother please, just listen to me,”

“I have no daughter,” she responded as she grabbed the phone and dialed some numbers.

I knew what that meant at this point.

Rejected by my mate, and rejected by my mother.

I became a lone wolf, easy prey, and my first predator.

My mom had them on the line.

Giving them every bit of information and descriptions about me, down to the last button on my shirt.

I ran out through the front door, all the way to the back, and leaped over the fence.

I had run a reasonable distance before I heard howls and saw bright lights coming from the direction of my mother's place.
