7. Aiden’s Touch

“Who was that on the phone?” I asked Aiden as he walked back inside the house with a worried expression registered on his face.

“Dimitri.” He responded, throwing his phone on the couch.

I lowered the volume of the television and turned to him. “Why do you look sad?”

He sighed before responding. “He overheard some college students talking about how they think he’s a werewolf.”

I gasped at his words. The majority of the students attending that school were humans and werewolves kept their identities a secret.

The fear of my secret getting exposed was one of the main reasons I hadn’t started college. I wanted to be a lawyer for the longest time.

The humans finding out about the werewolves wasn’t good news, because they were going to do everything possible to wipe us away from the face of the earth. That meant an impending war.

“How? What?” I tried coming up with a complete sentence but my words failed me.
