Mag-log inNatasha's POV
Holy smokes! This was too hot.
My cheeks burned as I tried to wiggle away from him. But he had me trapped against the car so all I did was wiggle against him. I could feel him everywhere. His hard muscles contracted and pulsed against me. His hot breath burned a sweet trail on my neck.
When his tongue licked that sweet spot on my neck, I knew I was done for. My legs buckled and I had to hold him for support.
This wasn't right.
I had barely gotten divorced. It was all happening too fast and I needed to put a stop before I did something impulsive and regretted it.
I had been impulsive in my relationship with Matt. I trusted that he loved me. That he wanted me. I gave up my top honors degree, gave up on my late parents' research, and took up a job in the Pack's lab just so I could stay close and be with him.
The sacrifices I made for that bastard were all wasted!
I was wrong.
And look where that led me.
No matter how hot and sexy and how wild Alpha Micheal drives me, I couldn't be impulsive too. Once bitten, twice damned shy.
"I'm sorry," I forced out, trying to get him off me despite wanting him to touch me some more. I almost wanted to darn it to hell, get into his car, and spread myself open for him to see.
For him to devour.
A shudder ripped through my entire body at the thought.
"Natasha-"
"Can I think about it?" I blurted, unable to think properly when his hand moved over my ass and began fondling. "P-Please?"
He stepped away with a deep feral growl that had my insides trembling.
"Fine.” He grunted, running his hand through his hair. Those luscious locks looked so thick, I wanted to touch them and feel them run against my fingers. He gestured at the open car door and muttered. "I'll drop you off, darling. I'll have to spend my time convincing you, shouldn't I? You did ask me not to hold back last night. "
I flushed at his words and the double entendre in his words. I had acted like some sort of crazy slut.
"I'm sorry."
He took my hand and placed a kiss on my fingers. It seared into my skin and I made a little noise of surprise in my throat at how good that felt.
"No, I am sorry. Sorry that I hadn't found you earlier before my jackass of a nephew did."
I snickered at these words. Jackass did not do Matt enough justice.
"Thank you, Alpha," I said.
"Michael," He said gruffly. "This will be the last time you'll address me as Alpha."
I gave a meek nod and slipped into the vehicle. I told him I'd like to be dropped off at Sofia's Cafe. I didn't exactly have a place to stay and I wasn't sure where to go next.
"I'll see you tonight," Michael murmured, placing a chaste kiss on my cheeks.
"Uhm-"
"No objections." He ordered. "I'll pick you up, wherever you are."
I watched him drive off before rushing into the Cafe to tell Sofia the entire story.
"No way!" She whispered, shell-shocked.
"Do I look like I would make this up?"
"Maybe you're too traumatized by the divorce and you hallucinated?” Sofia giggled, and I laughed along with her.
"Considering he grabbed my ass, I'm very sure I did not hallucinate him."
"Holy smokes, what now?"
"I don't know," I groaned, dragging a hand down my face. "I have no idea what to do right now. Everything's too fast. I can't just get married to a man I have never met before. That's crazy."
Sofia gave me a pointed look. "You did sleep with him though."
"I was drunk," I defended.
"Look, maybe you shouldn't overthink this. You're mated to him. I don't think it's supposed to be complicated at all."
I shook my head. "I was married to his nephew as of this morning. I can't just hop from one man to another. What if the mate bond expires?"
Sofia guffawed and rolled her eyes. "The mate bond doesn't expire, Crazy. Or does it?"
"What if we aren't compatible? What if I mess things up for him?"
"Natasha-"
"Do you not realize how terrifying this is? I will be Luna if I get married to him. I'll be the Luna of a pack. My pack! I can't be Luna. I don't know the first thing about running a pack."
Sofia sighed. "Okay, okay, stop freaking out.”
"I can't help but freak out!" I yelled, covering my face, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
"You know what you need?"
I looked at her, hoping that she understood the mess I felt more than I did. "What?"
"A time out," Sofia said. "You should come stay in my pack for a while. Sort out your feelings and then decide what to do. Without the Alpha meddling."
I pursed my lips and sighed. "Sofia, I love you. Do you always have to be right?"
She giggled. "Besides, Zephyr would love to have you over."
"It's settled then."
I sent an email to the Research Lab requesting a few days off to clear my head after the divorce, and that afternoon, with a few clothes packed, I traveled the two-hour journey between our packs to Zephyr's pack.
Sofia took me to meet the Alpha almost immediately. He was quite attractive. His eyes were the kindest green I had ever seen. His curly blonde hair was shoulder-length and lay around him in waves. I tried not to have the breath knocked out of me when he rose from behind his desk and stalked towards us.
All he did was stare at me in awe as if I were an object that mesmerized him.
Sofia cleaned her throat, her lips pulled in a tight smile. "Alpha Zephyr, this is my friend, Natasha. She'll be staying in the pack for a couple of uhm... Days?"
"Natasha." He mumbled, his voice deep and soothing. I tried to curtsy, but he held my arm instead, still staring at me wide-eyed.
I shuffle awkwardly on my feet, licking my lips nervously.
He let out a hum before speaking. "You can stay as long as you want."
The door to his office flew open and a pissed Michael stormed in.
"No, she will not!"
Third Person POVThe word left Alan’s mouth like the final piece of himself breaking through the storm inside him, and the moment Natasha heard him tell her to run, she felt terror spread through every part of her body because the fear in his voice was not fear for what was happening to him but fear for what was about to happen to her, and that was enough to root her in place because there was no world in which she could turn and leave him there alone while whatever darkness had been fighting to claim him was rising stronger with every second. She tightened her grip on him instead, holding on even as his body trembled violently beneath her hands, even as every muscle in his arms and shoulders locked with a force that felt unnatural, and even as the stranger standing in the doorway watched the scene unfold with the calm patience of someone who had expected this exact moment from the very beginning and had never doubted that Alan would eventually break beneath the weight of what was ins
NatashaThe moment that howl echoed through the room, every part of me went cold because the sound did not feel like something I was simply hearing, it felt like something alive moving through the air and pressing down on all of us, and the way Alan’s body reacted to it terrified me more than anything that had happened before, because the second the sound reached him he went completely still, not with relief and not with calm, but with the kind of stillness that comes when something inside a person is listening to a call stronger than anything else around them.I stared at him, barely breathing, because the pain that had been twisting his body moments before was suddenly replaced by something far more frightening, a strange unnatural calm that settled over him while his entire body remained tense as though every muscle was waiting for a command. The locked door at the far end of the room creaked open inch by inch, the heavy metal moving slowly enough to make the dread build with every
NatashaAlan’s scream tore through the room with such force that for one frozen second I could not even breathe, because nothing in all the fear building inside me had prepared me for the sight of his body arching violently against the cold metal floor while something beneath the skin of his chest pressed outward in a shape that should never have existed, and the sound of his pain drowned out every flashing alarm and every shrill warning tone until the only thing left in my mind was the horrifying image of him breaking apart in front of me.“Alan!” I dropped to my knees beside him so fast the impact sent pain shooting through my legs, but I barely felt it because all of my attention was on him, on the way his entire body shook uncontrollably while one trembling hand clutched at the center of his chest as though he could somehow hold whatever was inside him in place. His breathing came in rough, uneven gasps, every inhale sounding more desperate than the last, and beneath the thin fabr
AlanI stared at Matt, waiting for him to laugh, to tell me that this was another scare tactic, another twisted manipulation designed to force me into trusting the people who had already stolen everything from me, but he did not laugh, and the silence that followed my question was worse than any answer because it confirmed that what I had said was close enough to the truth to frighten even him, and that realization hollowed something out inside me so fast that for a second I could not feel my hands. My chest tightened beneath my palm, not with pain but with pressure, a strange living pressure that pulsed from somewhere under my ribs, and the sensation was so unnatural that my stomach turned because it did not feel like an illness or an injury, it felt deliberate, rhythmic, aware, and the thought that something inside me could be moving with its own purpose made panic surge so hard through my body that I stumbled backward.“No,” I said, but the word came out weak and unsteady, because
NatashaHe looked at me and said that there was another heartbeat inside him, the entire room seemed to stop around us in a way that felt heavier than silence, because even with the alarms still flashing red across the walls and the sharp warning tones still pulsing from the device in Matt’s hand, all of that noise faded beneath the weight of those words, and the expression on Alan’s face told me with terrifying certainty that he was not confused, not imagining it, not struggling to interpret some strange sensation caused by the prototype, but hearing something real inside his own body that should not have existed, and the horror that rose in me was so immediate that for one disorienting second I could not breathe.Alan stood frozen where he was, one hand gripping the edge of the metal table beside him so tightly that his knuckles had turned pale, while his other hand hovered uncertainly over his chest as though he could somehow reach inside himself and confirm what he was hearing, an
AlanThe moment Natasha said they had found me, something inside me dropped so hard that it felt like the floor had vanished beneath me, because even though I still did not fully understand what I had become or why people were hunting me, the look on her face told me more than words ever could, and the fear in her eyes was not the kind that came from uncertainty, it was the kind that came from knowing exactly what was coming and understanding how little time was left before everything spiraled out of control. The alarms kept screaming through the room in violent bursts, each pulse of sound tearing through my thoughts and making it harder to breathe, while the red lights flashing across the walls painted everything in sharp fragments of shadow and color, and for one disorienting second all I could do was stare at the half-open door, because my mind was still trapped between the memories forcing their way back into my head and the reality unfolding in front of me too fast for me to catc
Natasha“Where have you been? The Alpha has been looking everywhere for you.” I looked up from my phone, watching as Sophia hurried towards me, a frantic look on her face. Whatever it was, it had to be disturbing because Sophia was never easily rattled like this. My heartrate spiked because I didn
AlanNatasha was still at the Blissful pack and the more I thought of ways to get her out of the place, the more confused I felt because all of this was something I hadn’t planned for. According to her friend, she had gone there to clear her head from the recent betrayal of Matt, that bastard and h
NatashaI stepped out of Alpha Zephyr’s chambers with my chest tight and my head full of noise. The hallway felt longer than before, and every step I took sounded too loud against the floor. His words kept repeating in my head.Someone inside helped them.He didn’t say my name when he said it, but
NatashaThe more I stayed within this pack, the more angrier I became because I didn’t even know who was behind all of this. Whoever was doing it wanted nothing more but to discredit my name, to make Zephyr send me out of the pack. This was blackmail, nothing more and I couldn’t imagine any other t
