ログインNatasha
Alpha Zephyr stood there, staring at him like he had suddenly grown two heads not just with the way he had barged into the office but with the effrontery at which he had done so. Thinking about it now, I realized that there was a whole lot going on, half of which I didn’t even know about and the thought of that made me feel like there were a whole lot of things I was missing out on.
“What right do you have to barge into my office that way? Have you lost it?” Alpha Zephyr barked, fire burning in his eyes.
It was one thing to be angry but judging by the way he looked in that moment, it just felt like he could rain down fire and it would happen.
“Natasha can not stay here,” he said again.
I moved to say something but Sofia beat me to it. “You have no right to show your face here, especially after everything you have done.” she snapped.
I had never seen her this angry which just told me that she was even more pissed about this whole thing than I was.
“How dare you?!”
He moved to her, like he wanted to hit her but the Alpha’s guards were quick enough to hold him back. He tried to struggle with them but yet again, he was no match for their strength so everything he did was fruitless.
“Take him away!” Zephyr snapped.
I watched him struggle in their grips and the satisfaction I got at that moment, knowing that I wouldn’t be seeing him for a while was enough to leave me happy. That served him right. This time around, he was met with a match far greater than him.
“I am sorry about that,” Zephyr said, turning to face me.
I didn’t miss the way his eyes seemed to scan my face in urgency, like he was looking for something that I didn’t know about. I was forced to look elsewhere because the room was becoming too hot for either of us to handle. Sofia seemed to notice this because the next moment, she was clearing her throat, and walking out of the office.
“Are you just going to leave me here?” I chuckled, watching her back.
“I just thought you and the Alpha could get used to each other and he tells you everything there is to know about this pack.” she said.
And without another word, she left the room. Now, alone with Zephyr, I looked everywhere else but at him because I was afraid of what I would find on his face. Ever since I got introduced to him, he made me feel at ease but I knew I couldn’t be carried away by that simply because looks and feelings were deceiving. Matt had done the exact same thing in our early years, but look where that got me.
“Something seems to be troubling you.”
He didn’t say it as a question but I felt the need to reply. “Ehh… nothing really,” I said.
He walked towards me but stopped short, just shy away from touching me. I felt hot all of a sudden but deep down, I knew I couldn’t allow myself to be used the same way Matt had done to me, betraying me in the most brutal way.
He paused, staring at me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable. I knew he was searching for answers but I wasn’t about to give him anything that could very well be used against me in the long run. I had been on that road before and I wasn't going to make the same mistake.
“Sofia told me you would be staying here for a while and while you are here, you will be trained in swords, strength and leadership abilities.”
“Thank you Alpha,” I said, bowing just a bit.
“You really don’t need to bow and you can call me Zephyr, that’s what they call me around.” he said.
“Zephyr.”
The name rolled off my tongue like jelly, sweet but somehow dangerous. Just then, Alan’s face flashed through my mind even as I shook my head, trying to get his face off my mind. Why is it here of all places I thought about him, knowing very well that he brought nothing but trouble.
“I’ll go now…” I said.
I walked out of the room and with every step I took, I felt his eyes on me, but I shook it off as him being friendly but deep down, we both knew there was more to everything going on at that moment.
I walked out to see Sofia talking with some of the other members of the pack, and even though I hesitated to join them, she beckoned me to.
“This is my friend guys, Natasha.” she said, introducing me to them.
One had deep red hair and the other was a midnight shade of blue, both very beautiful and in that moment, I felt out of place in their midst even though I knew I shouldn’t feel that way.
“She’s pretty.” the one with red hair said.
“So are you,” I said.
I later learnt their names were Amanda and Joselyn. At this point, I was beyond wary of what all of this could mean because I already had my fair share of friendship but something about this pack just made me be at ease, like this was a place I should have been ever since.
“What’s on your mind?” Sofia asked, as we took a stroll round the pack.
“Matt and… Emily. No matter how much I try to do away with them, the thought and the pain of their betrayal still sting. I didn’t deserve that Sof.” I said.
She took my hands in her’s, giving it a gentle squeeze, silently assuring me that everything would be fine. I didn’t know how to be but at that moment, I decided to trust her because through everything, she had stood with and by me.
“But I'm glad you brought me here, this pack exudes so much peace.” I said.
I closed my eyes for a bit, taking in the warm breeze that passed through my face. I knew I needed to try as much as possible to forget everything that had to do with Emily and Matt and one day, I hoped to get my revenge from them.
“And hey, what’s that look you had for Zephyr back at his office?” I asked, bumping her shoulders a bit.
She looked around, avoiding my eyes totally and I realized she knew what I was saying. She was just acting innocent, knowing that I had caught her in this.
“What look?” she asked, feigning ignorance.
“Well, if i didn’t know better, i’ll say you are attracted to him. I saw the look you gave him.” I chuckled.
“There was nothing Nat, perhaps you are just seeing things. Maybe the divorce is getting to you and you’re way over your head.” she laughed.
“And he seems fond of you as well. Looks like everyone is free and open with him.” I said.
“Welcome to the pack. I have a feeling that you are going to enjoy your stay here,” Sofia said, a mischievous look on her face.
NatashaI do not know how long I stayed there on that cold, broken floor with Alan’s hand in mine, because time stopped making sense the moment his body went still, and everything around me faded into something distant and unreal, like the world had stepped back and left me alone with the weight of what had just happened, and the silence that followed felt heavier than all the noise that came before it, pressing down on me until breathing itself became something I had to force.I kept staring at his face, like if I looked away even for a second he would disappear completely, like memorizing every part of him was the only thing I had left to hold onto, and it hurt because he looked peaceful, more peaceful than I had ever seen him, and I hated that, I hated that it took him choosing death to finally be free from whatever had been tearing him apart, I hated that I could not do anything to stop him from making that choice even though I understood why he did it.“You were not supposed to l
Third Person POVThe word left Alan’s mouth like the final piece of himself breaking through the storm inside him, and the moment Natasha heard him tell her to run, she felt terror spread through every part of her body because the fear in his voice was not fear for what was happening to him but fear for what was about to happen to her, and that was enough to root her in place because there was no world in which she could turn and leave him there alone while whatever darkness had been fighting to claim him was rising stronger with every second. She tightened her grip on him instead, holding on even as his body trembled violently beneath her hands, even as every muscle in his arms and shoulders locked with a force that felt unnatural, and even as the stranger standing in the doorway watched the scene unfold with the calm patience of someone who had expected this exact moment from the very beginning and had never doubted that Alan would eventually break beneath the weight of what was ins
NatashaThe moment that howl echoed through the room, every part of me went cold because the sound did not feel like something I was simply hearing, it felt like something alive moving through the air and pressing down on all of us, and the way Alan’s body reacted to it terrified me more than anything that had happened before, because the second the sound reached him he went completely still, not with relief and not with calm, but with the kind of stillness that comes when something inside a person is listening to a call stronger than anything else around them.I stared at him, barely breathing, because the pain that had been twisting his body moments before was suddenly replaced by something far more frightening, a strange unnatural calm that settled over him while his entire body remained tense as though every muscle was waiting for a command. The locked door at the far end of the room creaked open inch by inch, the heavy metal moving slowly enough to make the dread build with every
NatashaAlan’s scream tore through the room with such force that for one frozen second I could not even breathe, because nothing in all the fear building inside me had prepared me for the sight of his body arching violently against the cold metal floor while something beneath the skin of his chest pressed outward in a shape that should never have existed, and the sound of his pain drowned out every flashing alarm and every shrill warning tone until the only thing left in my mind was the horrifying image of him breaking apart in front of me.“Alan!” I dropped to my knees beside him so fast the impact sent pain shooting through my legs, but I barely felt it because all of my attention was on him, on the way his entire body shook uncontrollably while one trembling hand clutched at the center of his chest as though he could somehow hold whatever was inside him in place. His breathing came in rough, uneven gasps, every inhale sounding more desperate than the last, and beneath the thin fabr
AlanI stared at Matt, waiting for him to laugh, to tell me that this was another scare tactic, another twisted manipulation designed to force me into trusting the people who had already stolen everything from me, but he did not laugh, and the silence that followed my question was worse than any answer because it confirmed that what I had said was close enough to the truth to frighten even him, and that realization hollowed something out inside me so fast that for a second I could not feel my hands. My chest tightened beneath my palm, not with pain but with pressure, a strange living pressure that pulsed from somewhere under my ribs, and the sensation was so unnatural that my stomach turned because it did not feel like an illness or an injury, it felt deliberate, rhythmic, aware, and the thought that something inside me could be moving with its own purpose made panic surge so hard through my body that I stumbled backward.“No,” I said, but the word came out weak and unsteady, because
NatashaHe looked at me and said that there was another heartbeat inside him, the entire room seemed to stop around us in a way that felt heavier than silence, because even with the alarms still flashing red across the walls and the sharp warning tones still pulsing from the device in Matt’s hand, all of that noise faded beneath the weight of those words, and the expression on Alan’s face told me with terrifying certainty that he was not confused, not imagining it, not struggling to interpret some strange sensation caused by the prototype, but hearing something real inside his own body that should not have existed, and the horror that rose in me was so immediate that for one disorienting second I could not breathe.Alan stood frozen where he was, one hand gripping the edge of the metal table beside him so tightly that his knuckles had turned pale, while his other hand hovered uncertainly over his chest as though he could somehow reach inside himself and confirm what he was hearing, an
NatashaThe moment Victor pulled me away from Alan, it felt wrong in a way I could not even explain properly to myself, because even though I understood why Alan had done it and even though I knew he was only trying to protect me the only way he knew how, it still felt like I was being torn away fr
AlanSomething wasn’t right, and it wasn’t the kind of feeling I could brush aside or ignore no matter how hard I tried to focus on the screens in front of me, because the unease had settled deep in my chest in a way that made it impossible to think clearly, like every instinct I had was trying to
AlanThe moment my office door pushed open without a knock, I looked up sharply, already prepared to snap at whoever thought they could walk in on me like that, but the words died before they even formed because Natasha was standing there, and one look at her face told me something was very wrong.
NatashaI didn’t think I had any tears left in me, but somehow, they kept coming.Even as Alan held me close, his arms wrapped tightly around me like he was afraid I would disappear, I couldn’t stop shaking. My body felt weak, like everything that had happened had drained the life out of me.“I’m so
