Ember Frost’s POV

“I want to go see her,” Eira whispered, barely raising her head. “She’s the only family I still have.”

I sighed, trying to keep my tone gentle. “You know your grandmother’s mind is still very unstable. The doctor was clear—she needs distance from anything that reminds her of the past. A calm place is needed, one that is far from familiar faces and memories. I know you’re worried about her, but right now it’s better if you don’t meet her.”

After she moved into the palace, Eira

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown    Axel’s Betrayal

Ember Frost’s POV“You don’t get to hide behind your past to excuse what you did,” I said, my voice turning colder. “You talk like the world forced you into this, but nobody forced you to steal from your own people.”No answer came back immediately from the shadows, but I didn’t stop.“You keep whining about nobles, privilege, and unfair treatment, but let’s be honest here.” I looked toward the darkness ahead. “This was never about justice. You saw an opportunity to profit, and you took it.”The atmosphere around us grew heavier.“You were selling information behind everyone’s backs. Smuggling out pack supplies. Even military stock started disappearing under your watch.”A few people around me went silent after hearing that. Even from a distance, I could feel the tension shift.“And when money stopped being enough for you, you started dealing weapons too,” I said coldly. “Do you even realize what could’ve happened if those supplies ended up in human hands?”Somewhere deeper in the rav

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown   The Final Escape Route

Ember Frost's POV For a moment, I just stared at her. That didn’t make sense. Why were they heading that way? Did they seriously think the security unit still knew nothing about them? Communication in the area had been unstable for days, but this base wasn’t completely isolated. By now, most of the team had already heard what he had done. Then a bad thought crept into my head. No… maybe that was never their destination in the first place. My chest tightened. “The human caves…” The moment the idea crossed my mind, everything clicked together. “That crazy bastard.” Axel had realized he was cornered. There was nowhere left for him to run inside werewolf territory, so he’d chosen the worst possible option. He was planning to trade information for protection. Maybe he thought the humans would shelter him if he handed over enough secrets. What an idiot. Did he really think humans and werewolves could ever trust each other that easily after everything between them? A traitor

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown   Tracks in the Snow

Ember Frost’s POVWe had done everything within our reach, but it still wasn’t enough to bring him back the way everyone had hoped. Elder Anna took it the hardest. She didn’t say much, but it showed on her — that quiet mix of failure and worry she couldn’t hide. With no clear leader left standing, the responsibility naturally fell on me. I didn’t have the space to fall apart. Everyone was scattered, searching for direction, so I stepped into that gap and did what I could to keep things together. Then a message came from the palace through Elder Harriet to Elder Anna, and everything shifted at once. A transport had already been sent to the mountain base, expected to arrive within five hours. There was no backup arrangement this time. Once the transport arrived, everyone was leaving together. The situation had turned urgent enough that no one was being left behind or held back for later. That meant one thing — there was no time left to linger here.I shut down the temporary protective

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown   Broken Loyalties

Ember Frost’s POVOnly then did the people seem to snap back to themselves, one by one.But something still felt… off.The group that had been standing behind Axel just moments ago—those who had been loudest in defending him—were suddenly stiff. No one spoke. No one even dared breathe too loudly.Behind them, Elder Anna calmly finished packing her tools, closing her bag with a soft click like she was done with a routine job. Ellan stood nearby, checking his instruments as if nothing unusual had happened at all.The contrast made the silence feel heavier.A soldier finally broke it, voice shaky. “W-what’s wrong with them?”Elder Anna didn’t even look up at first. She adjusted her gloves slowly, like the question was barely worth her time.“Nothing serious,” she said. “Just a small adjustment. Temporary loss of control. That’s all.”She looked up at last. Calm face, but her eyes weren’t soft. “I didn’t think I needed to explain it in detail,” she added lightly. “Some people here seem t

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown   A Carefully Built Lie

Ember Frost’s POVAxel forced himself to straighten his back.“I know people don’t like me,” he said quickly. “I’m strict. I don’t talk much. Fine. But don’t throw this kind of filth at me just because you’re angry.”The more he spoke, the faster his words came.“I’ve fought beside these people for years. We’ve bled together. Nearly died together.” His eyes moved around the room. “They know me.”His voice cracked slightly.“I’ve stood with this team through everything.” He shook his head hard. “I would never turn on Henry.”The room stayed painfully quiet. The silence only made him more frantic.“She’s twisting things on purpose,” he continued. “Making me sound like some monster so nobody questions her anymore.”For a moment, he actually looked pitiful.Like a man trying to hold water in his hands while it kept slipping through his fingers.Ellan frowned deeply.“You’re saying you’ve been wrongfully accused?”“Of course that’s what this is!” Axel snapped immediately.A few people exch

  • Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the Crown   Interference

Ember Frost’s POVThe werewolf elders continued working in silence, their hands moving quickly as they tried to stabilize Captain Henry’s condition. No one dared speak. The room had gone so quiet that even the sound of shifting legs felt loud against the silence. Then Axel suddenly snapped. He stepped between the elders and the bed, cutting off their movements with a sharp hand gesture.“Stop crowding him,” Axel said impatiently. “Can’t you see his condition is getting worse?”“We need space to continue the treatment,” Elder Anna replied.“And if your treatment kills him?”That finally made the room tense up again. One of the elders hesitated, but Axel didn’t look at them again. Before anyone could react, he kicked a chair back, dragged it across the floor with a harsh scrape, and dropped down beside the bed like he planned to stay there all night.“Anyone who wants to touch him can step over my body first.”His eyes were red from exhaustion, but the glare he threw at us was full of

Ember Frost’s POVEira stopped for a moment, still munching on her food, before speaking again. “So, some students were saying that reporters showed up at Ava’s place last night. They camped outside her gate all night long, didn’t leave until her parents got so fed up they had to call the police.”
