14. The Past 

Rengganis woke up in shock. Last night, she was by the river with Khandra. And now, she laid in her simple room in the cave. Rengganis smiled. It’s the first time she slept well like a baby, so comfortable. She used to have nightmare. And it seemed like Khandra could bring comfort for her. Rengganis stood and rushed out.

“Aunty Berek, what can i help you?” rengganis asked the old ladi who’s bowing to put on firewood to the bonfire.

“Good morning, My Queen. There’s no need help. You can sit and wait until the food is ready.” Aunty Berek smiled. Then, she turned. “Kayana!” she screamed, “Get me water to wash face.”

Not long after that, Kayana approached with a copper receptable and put it on the wood cot. ”Em, please, My Queen,” said the young man in shame.

“Thank you, Kayana,” she answered.

“Mmm, My Queen,” he said once more making Rengganis stood still.

“Tell me!”
