Six: Let the plan begins

“Ta Av!” I hurriedly went to Jacques and hugged him tightly. No matter how bad my day is, this kid always brightens the mood.

“How’s my Jacques?” He nodded with a big grin and made an okay sign. I loaded it without saying anything, so he laughed and laughed. That’s always what he wanted, eh.

“Hey!” I automatically turned to Kuya Jac with sharp eyes his teasing. “Where’s the key, by the way?”

I didn’t speak. I dropped the key in his open palm.

I just can’t believe this. I spent thirty million on today’s visit. “What is your problem? I mean– what comes to your mind to buy a thirty-million sports car?”

I smiled at Jacques again before I lowered my gaze to him. “Shut up!” I shouted before going straight to my room.

Now, what? What is my next plan? Am I gonna sit here? That jerk.

Then, it was as if a light bulb shone above my head when I thought of his parents. According to him, they’re abroad. Maybe there’s something implausible between them; for example, they may be nice to talk and pursue them about their son. If they agree to my offer about their child, they will be the ones to convince Cormac themselves and bingo! He has nothing to lose anyway!

I knew it! How can I be this intelligent?

I was just picking up my cellphone to do some research when it vibrated. It was Ma’am Cassandra. “Ma’am,” I said.

    “How’s the encounter?”

I just stared nowhere before answering. “I hate it.”

“But I will not stop there, Ma’am. I’ll get that jerk. I will make his life known to the public. We will win the AFA this year.”

We will win the AFA. . . That’s right.

The following day, I felt like I am covered by heaven and earth. I feel like my eyes explode in a nap because the thought of a next plan did not put me to sleep. In the end, I still had no idea, but I still decided to go to their office.

I will not just give up that easily.

“You’re up early. Will you go straight to BSE?” I just shook my head at Kuya Jac then went straight to Jacques, who was very happy with what he was eating. He’s only three years old, but he is too heavy, chubby, cute.

“Something needs to be taken care of at C.C. Cars, so I was there yesterday,” I said honestly, then took some food and greeted Jacques.

“So you buy that thirty-million car because you want information? Thirty million? You can earn that money for BSE for twenty years!” I just stared at the man and continued eating. Occasionally, Jacques and I would play while eating, as usual.

He was right. That money was worth nothing to my salary at BSE, but what now? The important thing here is that I impressed him and will convince him afterward. Only then can I think about the money. “Cormac Carter. I’ll see him later. Do you want me to tell him something?”

I took a deep breath, trying to hold back. “Go to hell!”

He just laughed out loud, so I did let it go. I just hurried to eat and continued to leave after saying goodbye to Jacques.

At exactly eight o’clock in the morning, I was in the C.C Cars Main parking lot. Let’s see if that man can’t be bothered with me. I’ll be with him until he just got tired and gave up. Then, he will agree. Easy, right?

I can afford it. Everything. For AFA.

I decided to order something at a nearby coffee shop first. I’ll try to get some coffee for Jessica and Cormac, too.

Holding the two Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee in my left hand while mine was on my right, I slowly went inside the place when a strong force hit me in my back, causing coffee to spill on my whole dress. I could feel the cold coffee biting up even to my undergarments. I also hated that I am wearing a thin, white, flowy dress.

I need to get my shit together. I want to scream my heart out, but I need to produce a good impression on the people here. That’s hard!

“Miss! Miss, I’m really really sorry. Are you okay?”

It was as if I was deaf for a moment in the extreme cold I was feeling. The man who bumped into me quickly took off his coat and gently placed it on my body. “I know you are mad, but please, can we take this inside the office?”

I nod weakly. He guided me to Cormac’s office, so I thought the man might not be an employee here.

“I’m really sorry. I was in a hurry and looking straight at my cellphone. I know, it’s my fault and I’ll make it up to you. But first, let’s get you to change.”

When we reached the door of Cormac’s office, he knocked lightly before opening the door. Mr. Carter, who had been immersed in the work, came up to us. He just looked up at us for a minute the looked down at what he was doing. He was not even surprised that I was here again.

“C, I’m in trouble. Can we use your bathroom?” the man said politely.

Tell you what, it’s nice to hear his voice. It was as if I was being cared for. It seems very careful.

Sure, no problem.” Cormac, on the other hand, is the opposite of everything. If this trying man here is very gentle, Cormac always seems to have an enemy.

He quickly addressed me. I even saw him panic. “Miss–”

“Avery, Avery Taylor.” He guided me to the sofa, made me sit down. “Calm down. I’m okay,” I added.

Finally, I saw him smile. He even laughed a little. “Can you wait for me here? I have a spare shirt in the car. I’ll bring them here. Put it temporarily so that we can go to the mall.”

    “Mall?”

    “Yup. I’ll buy you clothes–”

I was shocked by what he suddenly said. When I leave here, I will not be able to convince Cormac all day and waste my time. . . again.

“Let me do this, please. . . I’m Levi, by the way. I am one of Cormac’s friends.” My eyes widened at what he said.

So, he is Levi. . . Cormac’s friend.

“Okay, fine. You didn’t really have to do this but sure,” I scowled at him, smiling.

I caught a glimpse of Mr. Carter looked down on the two of us.

Alright! We’ll go to the mall then I’ll let the plan begin.
