—Samantha pov—

After my discussion with Ryan, I stood and retired to my room.

I shut my bedroom door behind me, the soft click somehow louder than expected in the silence.

My body still trembled from everything that happened at the school, but I forced myself to breathe. To think. To move.

I peeled off my clothes with stiff fingers, walked into the bathroom, and turned on the shower. Steam slowly filled the space, fogging up the glass, cloaking the world outside it in a blur.

I stood under the hot stream and closed my eyes.

The water hit my skin, but it couldn’t rinse off the bitterness clinging to me like poison. Jessica’s voice still echoed in my head. The image of Lindsey pressed against her like a fake porcelain doll. The flicker of Dalton’s cold eyes when Ryan stood beside me.

All of it tangled into my thoughts like vines.

By the time I stepped out of the shower, my skin was flushed, my mind a storm.

I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around me.

My room was dimly lit, the curtain

—Samantha pov—The hospital lights were too bright.Everything about this place felt cold and too clean. My heels clicked softly against the white tiles as I walked inside, my chest tight and heart racing. I moved straight to the front desk, where a young receptionist looked up from her computer.“I’m here for my friend,” I said quickly. “Maryjane Morgan. I got a call from the hospital, she was brought in.”The woman typed something fast, glanced at the screen, and then nodded. “Room 207, second floor. Down that hallway, take the elevator up.”“Thank you,” I said and hurried off, not waiting another second. My legs moved on their own, faster with every step. Something was wrong. Something serious. I could feel it deep in my bones. As soon as the elevator opened, I rushed out, heart pounding harder. I turned the corner, following the room numbers. 205… 206…207! I pushed the door open. And what I saw made my whole body freeze.“Maryjane,” I whispered. She was sitting on the bed in a h

—Samantha pov—But none of them spoke. The table was filled with a mix of old and new investors, senior executives, and a few influential shareholders. They watched as we entered.I walked in without fanfare, my face calm, neutral. Just an ordinary assistant. That’s what they all thought I was. And that was just fine.As usual, I made no move to sit. I quietly took my place behind Ryan’s chair, pen and notepad in hand. My back straight. My eyes lowered. Invisible, but not blind.I scanned the table as Ryan takes greeted everyone. Mr. Zhao, from Eastport Ventures, sat closest to the projector, with a crooked smirk. I never trusted him. Something about his mischievous smirk always felt too calculated.I noticed Dovanon, the sharp-tongued investor, sat across from him, impatiently drumming his fingers on the table. A risk-taker, cocky, and always a little too interested in who was rising and who was falling. I didn’t trust him either. Then there was, Mrs. Peta, elegant in appearance, ye

—Samantha pov—The morning air felt cool against my skin as I stepped out of the black car, heels clicking purposefully against the marble floors of Star Galaxy’s towering building. My long coat swayed with each step, sharp and polished, matching the storm brewing behind my eyes. The storm they would never see.As I approached the presidential elevator, I pressed the button calmly and folded my arms, eyes watching the numbers descend without any real focus. And then came the clatter.Virginia.I didn’t even need to look. Her signature heels hit the tiles like a wannabe runway model while her group of sycophants trailed behind her like perfume no one asked for. They laughed too loudly at something that wasn’t funny and tossed their hair as though it added IQ points. It didn’t.“Oh?” Virginia’s voice rang out, sickly sweet. “Still using the executive elevator, Samantha?”She strolled up to me and dramatically pressed the worker’s elevator button, like she was setting an example for the

—Samantha pov—I reached down and took Amore’s hand in mine. She looked up at me with those wide, honest eyes and squeezed back.I’d believed her from the very beginning. And now, they would see it too.A few minutes later, the school dean returned with the laptop clutched tightly in his hands, his expression tight and pale. Everyone went quiet. An eerie, suffocating silence that blanketed the office as he placed the device on his desk and opened the screen. He didn’t speak.Didn’t ask for permission. He just hit play. The screen flickered to life, and the grainy footage rolled forward—taken from the hallway camera near the staircase. There they were.Amore and Lindsey, frozen in time.Lindsey stood in the middle of the hallway, arms folded. Her little body was angled like a wall, barring Amore’s path. You could see Amore trying to step aside, but every time she moved, Lindsey shifted with her.Jessica leaned in.Dalton stood rigid.Ryan crossed his arms.I gripped Amore’s hand tight

  • Revenge After Divorce: Ex-Husband Regret    Pull up the cctv

—Samantha pov—The air inside the conference room was stifling, thick with tension and anticipation.Three stern-looking inspectors sat across from me, files opened wide like they were reading my soul line by line. Beside them sat three shareholders and two senior investors. I immediately recognized the fox, Mr. Zhao, and then Mr. Renold. He was the kind of man who’d eat his own children if it meant saving his money. His slick blue suit screamed wealth. His eyes? Greedy. Dissecting. Like I was meat on a platter. He leaned forward, folding his hands together with theatrical grace. “Miss Samantha Dawson,” he said, voice smooth, fake, and patronizing. “You’ve only been with Skyline a short time, correct?”“Yes,” I replied, tone even. My hands remained on my lap, calm—unshaken. He flipped a page like it was meant to intimidate me. “Your resume is vague. Almost too clean. And you were hired directly by Mr. Ryan, the acting president himself.”“That’s correct.”A younger inspector chimed i
