—SAMANTHA—

I could hear the whispers following me as I walked beside Grandma.

"Jessica must be so humiliated," someone muttered nearby. I maintained my face composure, but inside my stomach was twisting into knots.

I kept walking with my head high, my face smiling. But inside, I was not calm at all. I felt like screaming.

I had no idea Granny was going to do this. She didn’t warn me. She didn’t even look at me when she reached for my wrist. But here I was—standing in the middle of the hall with her, wearing a necklace that everyone said belonged to the future Mrs. Montclair.

This wasn’t just a small insult to Jessica. This was big. This was Granny choosing sides. And somehow, she had picked mine.

Jessica stood beside Dalton, her perfect face frozen in a smile so forced it looked painful. But her eyes—God, her eyes were pure venom, filled with hate. She stared at me like she wanted to kill me. Like she wanted to tear me apart.

I could feel her eyes like knives against my skin.

  • Revenge After Divorce: Ex-Husband Regret    Drugged

—SAMANTHA Pov—I gasped, eyes flying to the source of the noise.A woman had been shoved out of a room. She landed hard on her knees with a sharp wince.“Jessica?!” I breathed. She looked up quickly, pain flashing in her eyes before it turned to rage. Her lip was bleeding slightly. Her expensive dress was wrinkled. She didn’t say anything to me—just shot a hateful glare, then turned back to the door behind her.“What the hell…” I whispered, striding toward her.But before I could take another step… a large hand grabbed me.“Hey—!” I yelped as I was yanked into the room. The door slammed behind me.My back hit a warm, hard chest.“Let me go—!” I started to protest, twisting in the grip. But then I saw his face.“Dalton?!”His body pressed me against the wall, his hands rough, his mouth crashing on mine before I could even scream. What the hell? Not like earlier in the hallway. This one was more forceful, more desperate. Like he couldn’t control himself.I pushed at his chest, confus

  • Revenge After Divorce: Ex-Husband Regret    The elite women

—SAMANTHA— I froze for a second, too shocked to move. But the warmth of his lips, the strength in his hold… it made my knees weak. His body pressed closer, and everything around us vanished. The kiss was fierce, possessive. His hands gripped my waist, pulling me flush against him. I gasped again against his lips, but he only deepened the kiss, his tongue sweeping into my mouth with a hunger that left me dizzy. I should have pushed him away. I wanted to push him away. He had a fiancée. But my traitorous hands fisted in his shirt instead, pulling him closer. The taste of wine on his tongue, the heat of his body—it was too much. Not enough. When he finally pulled back, we were both breathing hard. His thumb brushed my swollen bottom lip, his voice rough. "Tell me you don't want this." I couldn't. Because the truth would ruin everything.“Dalton, I—” Before I could even finish, he kissed me again. Harder this time. More desperate. Like he was trying to erase every word I

—SAMANTHA— Loud gasps filled the hall. I heard people whispering quickly, like they couldn’t hold it in.Jessica’s face turned white. Not pale—white. She looked like someone just slapped her hard across the face. Her mouth opened, but no sound came out. She turned to Granny, then at Dalton, and then at me. Her hands were shaking at her sides, and her eyes were full of fire.Granny still held my wrist tightly. Her nails pressed into my skin, not enough to hurt, but enough to make sure I stayed beside her. “Family is the greatest gift of all,” she said loudly. She wasn’t just saying that. She meant something more and everyone knew it.She wasn’t looking at me when she said it, she was staring straight at Jessica. Grandma was insinuating that Jessica wasn’t just family, but I was too. The old woman cunningly tilted her head and gave Jessica a slow smile. “Don’t you agree, Jessica dear?”Jessica's body twitched. I could see her fighting inside herself. Her face went through a series of

  • Revenge After Divorce: Ex-Husband Regret    The Matriarch Favourite

—SAMANTHA— I wish I could turn and leave, but my legs were glued to the spot. The murmurs continued. “How did she get it?” “She can’t afford that. Who is she, anyway?” Suddenly every eye in the hall was crawling over my skin, zeroing in on the rubies at my throat. The attention wasn't flattering, it was invasive, cold, and harsh. My heart pounded hard against my ribs as their stares fixated on me like spotlights. My hand instinctively moved to touch the necklace, but I stopped myself. I didn’t want to draw more attention. But it was already too late. The necklace shimmered under the light—silver strands laced around glittering rubies gems. Shirley said it was called Tears of the Ocean. Now I understood why people were reacting this way. It wasn’t just a piece of jewelry, it was a statement. A symbol. It was very famous. And now they were all looking at me like I was something dirty trying to wear something royal. “She’s just trying to show off.” “She probably s

  • Revenge After Divorce: Ex-Husband Regret    The Necklace

—SAMANTHA— I saw it. His shoulders went tight, and his smile disappeared for a second. He didn’t hug her. He didn’t lean in. He just stood there, still holding Amore, his face unreadable. Jessica didn’t seem to notice—or maybe she didn’t care. She just kept smiling and turned her head toward the crowd, lifting her head proudly at the crowd. I looked at Dalton and my fingers clenched subconsciously, my lower lips trembling. He turned his head slightly, and our eyes met. There was something in his gaze… something I didn’t understand. But I held it. I didn’t look away. Even when it hurt, I didn’t look away. The atmosphere around us grew tense. Silence fills the air. People were watching us, others were stealing glances at me. It was quiet for a moment—too quiet. The music still played in background, but no one moved. Then Henrietta rushed in with too much excitement in her voice. “Grandma is finally here!” she announced loudly. Her words broke the stillness lik

  • Revenge After Divorce: Ex-Husband Regret    The Birthday Party

—SAMANTHA— The car pulled up to Serenity Villa, and I could hear the party before I even stepped out. Music, laughter, glasses clinking. There were so many people outside. I saw the huge yard filled with people. Important people. The richest families in Skyline City stood everywhere, dressed in expensive clothes. I even spotted some foreign guests in the crowd. Some people were dancing to the music, some were drinking champagne and talking in small groups, and others just walked around, shaking hands and smiling, probably trying to make new friends or build business ties.Montclair servants moved through the crowd with trays of food and drinks. Classical music played in the background. The whole place felt alive with energy. My heart started to race. Just as we got out of the car, we heard a man’s voice. "Dalton! You're here!" A man pushed through the crowd toward us and was jogging towards the parking lot. Tall, with messy brown hair and a bright smile. “Hey, Logan,” Da

  • Revenge After Divorce: Ex-Husband Regret    Thinking of him

—SAMANTHA— The morning light crept through the curtains, but it didn’t feel warm or comforting. I woke up feeling tired… and completely drained. My whole body felt heavy, like I had not rested at all. Probably because I hadn’t.Truly, I had spent the entire night thinking. Thinking about what happened between me and Dalton.I lay there, staring at the ceiling, my heart aching, my head racing. My mind had been restless, replaying every word, every look, every breath from the moment with Dalton.Every time I close my eyes, I saw him. His hands on me. His mouth claiming mine. Then they way he'd whispered about that night—that damned night that wasn't even mine to remember. “Shit,” a shaky breath escaped me as I pressed my palms to my eyes. Jesus. How was I supposed to face him after that?Frustrated, I rolled out of my bed and dragged myself to the shower. Inside, I turned the water as hot as I could stand. It didn't help. Nothing could scrub away the memory of Dalton's touch,

  • Revenge After Divorce: Ex-Husband Regret    the kiss

—SAMANTHA— Suddenly the sound of Amore’s laughter outside the car shattered the moment like fragile glass. “Jesus Christ! Amore is here!” I panicked and jerked back, my pulse roaring in my ears as Dalton finally let me go. He muttered a curse under his breath. His expression was unreadable, but his fingers flexed slightly, as if already missing the contact. I scrambled to fix my hair, my cheeks burning. What the hell was that?! When the car door swung open, Amore’s bright voice filled the silence. "Mom! Dad! Grandma let me bake cookies—" She froze, her big eyes darting between us. "Why are you guys just sitting here?" Dalton cleared his throat, shifting effortlessly into the role of the easygoing father. "Just talking, kiddo. Cookies, huh? Save any for us?" Amore giggled, oblivious to the tension still crackling in the air. "Maybe if you’re lucky!" I forced a smile, but my hands trembled and unbuckled my seatbelt. Dalton’s touch still burned against my skin, his words echoing
