The bass thumped like a second heartbeat in Lucas’s chest as the strobe lights blinked overhead, casting fractured silhouettes over the writhing bodies on the dance floor.

Sweat, cheap perfume, and alcohol were all over the air, but underneath it all, something pulled at his senses—a scent so familiar it made his pulse race.

He turned his head slowly, nostrils flaring as he tasted it again.

There it was.

Sweet. Smoky. Laced with something haunting.

He moved like a predator, agile and intentional, his eyes scanning the edges of the club where the shadows crawled and the scent—that damn scent—was stronger.

He reached a narrow corridor lit with red neon lights.

The hallway was grimy, the music muffled here, vibrating through the walls like a heartbeat that refused to stop.

Then he smelled it again.

Stronger.

Deeper.

Lucas’s boots crunched on a sticky.

The bathroom door loomed ahead, barely hanging on its hinges. Inside, he could hear laughter, moans, the clinking of glass. He stepped i

The music pulsed through the club like a living heartbeat, thudding in the chest and under the skin.Lily had surrendered to the moment, for once letting herself feel the thrill. Her curls were damp with sweat, her cheeks flushed from dancing, and her limbs moved freely as she lost herself in the music with Maya beside her.Maya was spinning, laughing, her glitter makeup catching the light. “This DJ is killing it!” she shouted, throwing her hands up.Lily grinned, matching her rhythm. “You’re just saying that because he winked at you three songs ago.”“Oh, shut up!”They burst into laughter. Not far off, Liam was dancing with Graham—both shirt sleeves rolled up, laughing and bumping shoulders like the idiots they were. Lily smirked as she saw them try to outdo each other’s dance moves, their energy boyish and chaotic. To the left of the dance floor, Lena and Aiden were a different story entirely. The two moved like they were part of the same soul—graceful, smooth, sensual. Their

The bass never stopped. It beat like a second heart, fast and erratic, pulsing through the walls, the floor, the air. The club was a living organism of its own, a swirling dance of light and shadows, where time bent and conversations disappeared under the weight of the music.Lena stood with her back straight, her expression carefully composed as she reached Aiden. He didn’t look at her at first. His profile was sharp under the purple strobe light, and his jaw was clenched, his bottle of beer half-finished. She hovered a moment too long before speaking.“Aiden,” she said, her tone softer this time. The sharp edges had been filed down.He looked at her slowly, his brows arched in question, eyes dimmed with caution.“I’m sorry,” Lena began, folding her arms over her chest. “For how I said it. You caught me off-guard. I didn’t mean to be cruel.”Aiden studied her. His eyes were still hurt, but his features eased slightly.“Yeah. Well, you were.” He took another swig. “It’s not even tha

The music throbbed through the club like a pulse, heavy and intoxicating, weaving itself around the glittering lights that spiraled overhead. Basslines thundered in Lena’s chest, a rhythmic reminder of where she was and what needed to be done. Bodies moved like shadows, tangled in dance and drink, and amidst the chaos, Lena’s eyes never strayed too far from Lucas and Liam. The twins were a problem—always had been. But tonight, they were her target.Lena's plan was simple: get them drunk, separate them, and strike when they were weakest. There had been rumors that Lucas and Liam were significantly weaker when apart. She hoped those rumors were true. Tonight was the night to test them.Lena's body moved effortlessly, fluidly to the beat, and in front of her, Aiden was entranced. His hands found her hips without hesitation, and his hazel eyes burned with something more than desire.“I think I’m falling in love with you,” he said suddenly, his voice low but urgent, nearly drowned out

The thudding bass of electronic music pulsed through Lena’s chest the moment as she swayed to the music. Neon lights bathed the sprawling dance floor in shifting hues of blue, pink, and purple. A wall of heat and the scent of sweat and alcohol washed over them as they moved together past the other wave of dancers. It was the kind of place that made you forget your name by midnight. The others had hesitated just inside the entrance. Maya’s eyes flicked nervously over the packed crowd. Graham shifted uncomfortably, clearly out of his element. Lily fidgeted with the hem of her sparkly silver top. But Lena’s lips spread into a satisfied smile — they were here. Now all she had to do was loosen them up.“Come on,” she shouted over the pounding beat, tugging Lily’s hand. “You can’t just stand here like statues. Let’s dance!”Lily hesitated, then let herself be pulled forward. Maya, Lucas, Graham, and Liam followed reluctantly, weaving through sweaty bodies until they found a small cleari

The early summer evening settled over campus like a soft, oppressive blanket, thick with the scent of cut grass.Lena leaned against the open window of her dorm room, eyes sharp and calculating as she watched the last sliver of sunlight slip behind the treeline. This wasn’t how things were supposed to be.Everywhere she looked, Maya, Lily, Graham, the Alpha twins Lucas and Liam were skittish, cautious and paranoid. It was as if the air itself had become brittle. Lena could feel the walls closing in around her plans. It was all because of Robert Hawthorne, the lawyer the Alpha twins had brought in. The charges Ethan had filed had forced them into a corner and they had to be careful.Lena clenched her fists on the window ledge until her knuckles turned white.Careful wasn’t going to get her what she needed. She needed them moving, distracted, desperate—she needed chaos, and there was only so much of that she could conjure while they hid like cornered animals. Her mind raced, picking
