Marcus chuckled awkwardly at Ginger’s reaction. “I assume that Carter didn’t tell you any of these, didn’t he?”
Ginger groaned in frustration. “Sorry, got to go and call that moron,” she said and then dropped the call. She still memorized the number of her twin brother, Carter, which is why she didn’t need to check her phone contacts to get his number. Instead, he entered the phone number of her twin brother and waited for him to answer it.
“You moron, answer the phone!”
After three rings, her twin finally answered the phone. “He —”
“ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!”
Ginger was so mad that she managed to almost yell at him despite her hoarse voice.
“Ginger?” Carter confirmed because he was unsure if he was talking to his sister or other people. It’s been so long since Carter and Ginger last spoke, and over time, Ginger’s voice has changed. That’s why at first, Carter wasn’t sure.
“Yes! It’s me, your dying sister,” Ginger said as if her condition wasn’t serious. “Marcus called me and told me that you’ve sold our bar to him. Is that true?!”
The other line stayed silent for a while, which confirmed the answer to Ginger’s question. When he didn’t speak, Ginger said, “How could you sell our business to Marcus?”
“Hey! I couldn’t help it. Our business went bankrupt, and we owed the bank $30,000,000. Let’s just be grateful that someone is still interested in buying that business.”
“Well, you could have at least told me beforehand!” Ginger said, massaging her temples in frustration. “I’ve got a very serious matter I have to fight here and now. You’re adding me additional baggage?”
“So sorry for being an ‘additional baggage’,” Carter responded, frustrated. Ginger wasn’t too insensitive to not hint at the frustration and pain in Carter’s voice. “And yes, I should have told you first because you’re the one who first ran that business. I was just your underling, right? I just ran that business because you were absent.” Ginger felt guilty for the painful words she told him, so she took a deep breath and collected herself before speaking more calmly.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Ginger asked gently.
“I’ve been meaning to tell you, but I didn’t want to worry and worsen your condition. I knew that stress and pressure weren’t good for your health. I was just worried, that’s all,” Carter explained.
“Still…” Ginger continued, then shook her head sideways. “Never mind. What’s done is done. We could just start a new one, right?”
“Of course. But for now, you have to get well soon,” Carter said, a hint of hope could be heard in his voice. Ginger was happy that Carter was still hoping that Ginger could get well and that he showed his genuine concern for Ginger, even though Ginger fully knew that her life was almost at the end of its line. “You won’t be able to perform well if you’re not feeling well.”
Ginger couldn’t help but cry.
“Hey! Are you crying?” Carter asked, feeling worried. “Sorry, I hadn’t had the chance to visit you. I’ll come by tomorrow, alright? I want to see you too, you know? It’s been a while.”
“Why weren’t you visiting me?” Ginger asked in between sobs. “You, my mom, and dad, too. You said that you were worried, but you never checked up on me. I only have four months to live, and I want to spend every moment with you.”
“Mom and Dad were separated. Do you think that our family can get together and bond with you?”
“I’m dying, so of course, that’s possible!”
Ginger and Carter might have been born rich, but they lived with a broken family. When they were ten years old, their mother, Venus, filed a divorce because she started meeting someone else and said that she no longer loved their father, Sebastian.
Ginger was under the custody of their mom while Carter was under the custody of their father.
When Ginger turned twenty-five, she moved out of her mom’s house and started to live alone. Ginger has been living independently for five years now and counting, if a miracle happens and she doesn’t die.
“Alright, fine. Let’s just see if they agree or not.”
“So, how was Dad? Is he meeting someone else now?”
“After mom? No, he wasn’t planning on marrying someone ever again,” Carter sighed. “But even though he had no plans of getting married again, he’s bringing some chicas here at home. You know, the paid ones,” Carter explained. “How about mom? Any news about her and her new boyfriend, Bryan?”
“After leaving her house with that guy, Mom and I lost touch,” Ginger explained as she looked up at the sky outside her window. “But the last time I lived with them, they seemed okay. Bryan was a nice and sweet guy, even though he was far younger than Mom.”
“Yeah. Makes me think that he might be after our mom’s wealth,” Carter suspected.
“I don’t think so,” Ginger said. “I witnessed the way Bryan looked at Mom. Despite their age gap, I saw that Bryan’s eyes were full of love.”
“Really? How? I mean, didn’t it occur to you that Bryan might be just putting on an act to make Mom believe that he loves him?”
“I know that Bryan is a real deal because…” Ginger trailed off and continued inside her mind. ‘That’s how Charlie and I looked at each other when we were still in love.’
“Because… what?” Carter repeated.
“Never mind that.”

Two months have passed, and miraculously, Ginger started to feel better, which she didn’t expect. Her pale face started to bloom again, he pale lips turned pinkish, and she started gaining weight. She was so prepared to die that she created a last will, recorded a video of herself saying her last words, and even arranged her burial. Suddenly, her doctor announced that she was free of cancer.
“I-Is that true? Am I free of cancer? How is this possible?” Ginger said in disbelief. She could feel her eyes watering out of joy. She could feel her heart pounding fast against her chest, and her smile finally reached her ears. This time, she was not crying because of sadness. She was crying out of joy.
“Yes, you are a cancer survivor. You have to be grateful for your second life and live a meaningful one.”
“Thank you, doc! That means a lot to me,” Ginger said. “So, when can I be discharged? I am so looking forward to getting out of this place. I’ve been here for months! I even lost count of it.”
“You can go home next week, don’t worry,” the doctor said, flashing a smile. “Please don’t come back here ever again, okay?”
Ginger chuckled. “I won’t.”

Ginger couldn’t get Bryan and her out of her head while driving to her enemies’ workplace. She remembered that she was being intimate with Bryan, but since she was drunk, she thought that it was just a silly and steamy dream about them. So she was surprised when she woke up wearing nothing but a blanket in an unfamiliar place. She shook her head and refused to accept that something had happened to them. Guilt washed over her because Bryan was her mother’s boyfriend. She was furious that Bryan took advantage of her situation and slept with her, knowing that Ginger was his girlfriend’s daughter. If Bryan loved Ginger’s mother, he wouldn’t have done that.Groaning, Ginger muttered, “Ugh…boys,” she sighed. “I couldn’t believe that I slept with a guy like that.”ᯓ★Ginger rushed to the villain’s lair, breathing heavily because she was in a hurry and didn’t want to be late. If she wanted to stay longer in her enemies’ workplace and be successful with the execution of her revenge plan, then
Ginger always hated Bryan because he dated Ginger’s mother, which caused her mother to leave her family. Ginger made sure that Bryan would feel that. This is why Bryan couldn’t believe that he was having sexual intercourse with his girlfriend’s daughter, who was riding and pounding on him faster and harder as he massaged her bouncy breasts.Their bodies were moving in sync, and when they were done, both were breathing heavily with sweat all over their naked bodies. Ginger dropped next to him, and Bryan wrapped his strong arms around her bare body, pulling her closer.Bryan smiled and muttered, “I couldn’t believe that this happened.”“So do I,” she responded as she placed her hand on his cock, rubbing its tip.“Stop that. You wouldn’t want me asking for another round,” Bryan warned.Ginger looked up at him. “Can’t move anymore?” she mocked. “Pathetic.”“Oh, you’re challenging me, huh?” Bryan said. “Why don’t we go to the place where we could continue?”“I like the sound of that.”And
ᯓ★Frustrated with her current situation, Ginger went to a bar to grab some alcohol in hopes that it would help her forget her frustrations for a while and just have fun.Even though she was not going to work, she still kept her real identity hidden by wearing her wig and contact lenses. And for tonight’s outfit, she wore an off-shoulder short tight black dress, showing her curves in the right places and some cleavage as well. The length of her skirt was above her knee, showing her flawless legs and thighs. She let her wavy hair fall up to her shoulders and wore her favorite earrings. As she walked inside, all eyes were on her. Some guys were checking her out from head to toe, perverts bit the bottom of their lips as they scanned her legs and cleavage hungrily. But Ginger ignored them because she was drowning in her thoughts to care about other people’s looks.Ginger walked up to the bar and sat on the stool, crossing her legs. “One Grasshopper Rock, please.”The bartender flashed a c
“You’re hired. Welcome to the team, Lucy,” Charlotte welcomed Ginger with a sweet smile as she shook Ginger’s hand.Ginger was not thrilled to work as her rival’s secretary, but if she wanted to take revenge, she should endure her current situation. She had to get closer to Charlotte and Charlie, find their weaknesses, break them apart, and sabotage their entire life. Out of hatred, she wanted to ruin them.“Thank you, Charlotte,” Ginger said, plastering a smile on her face. “I am looking forward to working with you.”“How soon can you start?” Charlotte asked and let go of Ginger’s hand.“I can start —” Ginger trailed off when someone knocked on the door, and from the other side, Ginger heard a very familiar voice that made her heart ache.“It’s Charlie. Can I come in?” he asked. It’s been three months since she last saw him, and she missed him. Flashes of her memories with him from yesterday came back.‘Stay strong, Ginger,’ she thought to herself. ‘That man betrayed you. He turned h
“I’m going to move out of my mother’s house and find somewhere else to stay,” Ginger told Bryan while they were driving towards home.“What? Why?” Bryan asked, shocked. “Why would you decide to leave? I mean, you just got home!”“I’m not planning on staying here for long, anyway.”“Then why did you return?”She fell silent for a while. Why did she return? She returned for her mother — hoping that she could feel her care and love — things that she never felt when she was in the hospital.“Why do you care?” Ginger responded. “And again, mind your own business. I’m leaving, that’s it!”Bryan shook his head sideways and heaved a sigh.“Don’t you dare let others know what I am up to, alright? You don’t want to make me mad.”“Yet here you are, telling me your plans,” Bryan chuckled. “I’m glad that you trust me.”“What? Who said I trust you?!”“If you didn’t, you wouldn’t have told me about your plans.”“Well, I didn’t have plans on telling you, but you overheard me in my bedroom, right?” Gi
ᯓ★BREAKING NEWS:30-year-old Ginger Cadette, the owner of the Bar & Life passed away yesterday due to brain cancer. Her family kept her burial private. With hard work and persistence, she successfully started and ran Bar & Life. But when she discovered that she had brain cancer, the business was passed on to her twin brother, Carter Cadette.Charlie was silent as he listened to the breaking news one morning as they were eating their breakfast at the dining table in front of their TV. He knew that Ginger was already dying, but he didn’t expect that her death would come earlier than expected. Charlotte, on the other hand, never cared that Ginger died. She just looked at Charlie and raised a brow. “Grieving over her, huh?”Charlie heaved a sigh. “Well, we were together for two years and made so many memories.”Charlotte didn’t like his answer. Furrowing her eyebrows, she said, “So, you still love her?!”Charlie quickly looked at her and denied it. “What? No! I didn’t say that! Why would
