Chapter 32: Charles' Secret

AS AUGUST heard the broken vase inside the room, he suddenly stood up and quickly went to the door. He tried to twist the doorknob and open it but it was locked inside. Fear and worry crept onto his body as he thought that something might happen between the two of them.

“What’s happening?” August asked, trying to communicate with either Charles or Maxine, but no one was answering.

Still, all of the people outside could hear the sounds of a broken vase. Even the maid and the two bodyguards with him were worried. August could see it in their expression, but they didn’t know what to do.

August, as he caressed his chin while thinking of any idea on how to resolve the situation, suddenly had an idea.

“Someone out there must have the master key,” said August and turned his direction on the female maid.

However, the maid shook her head. “The master keys are in Miss Maxine’s possession, and on top of that, that specific door doesn’t have a master key.”
