Chapter 10

When they arrived at the Department of Design, Miss Lockhardt gathered everyone with a clap of her hands.

“Everyone, this is the newest designer joining this department. She has been transferred directly here from a branch. She will be in charge of Group A from now on.

Everyone turned to listen when Miss Lockhardt spoke. It seemed that everyone here was friendly to each other; evidently, there were people still joking around.

“Miss Lockhardt, why are all the beauties in Group A? When are you going to send us Group B some ladies?”

The joke was dropped and the atmosphere immediately lightened up.

Miss Lockhardt said, “Hey! Group B has some handsome hunks, you know?”

“And because of that, there’s conflict here!”

Lyla listened and laughed.

“Greetings everyone, my name is Lyla Lowe. You can just call me Lyla. I hope we all can work together and get along happily!”

“Not a problem. Treat us during teatime and we will all be happy to work with you!”

Lyla smiled and said, “Not a problem indeed!”

Then, someone cried out, “Jessica Olsen, are you a hog? Why are you always asking for food!”

The entire Department of Design burst out laughing.

Miss Lockhart turned to Lyla and said, “Well then, this is your seat. Good luck on your future endeavors!”

Lyla nodded and Miss Lockhardt left.

Lyla took her seat and started to look around the place.

Since the place was a huge corporation, the working environment was better.

As she was indulging in her thoughts, a woman came over.

“How’s everything? Gotten used to it yet?”

Lyla turned around and looked at her. She was not exceptionally beautiful but something about her just made people feel at ease. She donned a short hairstyle, the kind that made her look happy-go-lucky.

“So far so good!”

“Let me introduce myself. I’m Lily Aldrin. You can just call me Lily.”

“Lily. Now that’s a cute name. I’m Lyla Lowe.”

Lily Aldrin smiled humbly and said, “The name speaks nothing about the truth!”

Lyla was somewhat amused by her candidness and laughed.

“How cute!”

Lily smiled.

“The people in this department might have too much to say but they are all good people.”

Lyla turned and looked around before saying, “I can see that.”

“Perhaps, we should have lunch together!”

Lyla nodded.

“Sure thing! Let it be on me!”

Lily smiled in return. “Well then. I’ll be counting on you then.”

The two smiled at each other and Lily said, “I have to go back to work now. We’ll meet again for lunch, yeah? Oh, be sure to ask for my help if you need any.”

Lyla nodded and Lily went back to her desk.

Lyla sat there and all of the sudden, she grew fond of the working environment and atmosphere.

However, at that moment, she was curious about how her two little darlings were doing. Were they missing her?

When noon came about, Lyla and Lily got together for lunch. They went to the company cafeteria and when Lyla saw what was on the menu, she sighed with amaze.

“I’ve never thought we would have such an amazing cafeteria!”

Lily nodded in agreement.

“That’s true. Our president once said that with good food, the people will be happy to work their best!”

Lyla had to nod her head upon hearing that statement.

“Indeed. It is a wise move.”

Lily continued on, “Not only is he smart. He is also very handsome. I’ve heard that even all the women in Cobalt City were dreaming to be with him.”

Lyla expressed her surprise.

“Is it? Is he that good?”

“But of course! Half of the women here brute forced their way into this company, hoping to have a shot of being the president’s woman!”

“Is that right?”

“Well, half of the women, not including me!” Lily quickly added, laughing at it to make sure her message was clear.

Lyla laughed and said, “Well, count me in!”

The two laughed together and had their meal happily.
