ELISA'S POV

I looked at Gina in disbelief. I couldn't believe what was happening. The worst part was that Jackson believed every word she said. He glared at me like I was the devil.

"That's not true!" I shouted.

Jackson acted like he didn't hear me. He checked on Gina’s supposed injuries, asking her how she felt. As he spoke to her, I noticed how soft his voice was. He spoke to her in a tone that he had never used with me. He was so concerned about her. The sight of them together brought tears to my eyes. He looked at her the way I wished he would look at me.

Gina give me an evil grin as Jackson fussed over her. Jackson didn't seem to notice that.

Jackson stood up and gave me a death glare. If looks were knives, I'd be covered in blood by now.

"Apologize to Gina," Jackson demanded.

"You're not listening to me" I retorted "I said I didn't push her!"

Jackson’s expression hardened. "You two are the only ones in this room. Who else could it be but you?"

My body shook with rage. My hand throbbed painfully from where I had grabbed the knife. It hurt me that my own husband didn’t believe me. My heart felt like it was shattering into a million pieces.

Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open, and to my surprise, my parents, the Alpha and Luna of the Blue Moon Pack, walked in.

I gasped in surprise, forgetting everything that had happened. I was so excited to see them. I hadn’t seen them in a year. I was just about to hug them when they rushed right past me to Gina. They didn't even bat an eyelash at me.

"Oh my god, baby Gina" my mom cried out "What happened to you? How did you fall so hard?"

Baby Gina? My mom's voice was filled with so much concern that it made me want to puke.

"It was Elisa" Gina cried to them "She hurt me. I don't know why she hates me. She thinks I want to take her position"

My parents turned to me with stern expressions, clearly expecting an apology. I felt so hurt. This wasn't fair at all.

I hadn’t been treated fairly since I returned home. I had thought I could have a better life than when I was a rogue, but I was wrong. The home I had tried so desperately to return to was hell. My parents disliked me and always told me to learn from Gina.

I smiled coldly and asked, "Do you guys think I did it too?"

My father stepped forward "Elisa, even if you don't like Gina, you can't hit her! You're the Luna. How can you be so evil? I thought you were better than this"

"You know how important today is" my mom added "Yet you beat Gina like that. I am so disappointed in you."

My lips quivered as I tried to hold the tears in. I didn't want to cry now, not in front of them. But it was so hard to keep my emotions in check. They couldn't see how hurt I was.

"After I returned, you didn’t see me as your daughter" I spoke "You never believed what I said. So just tell me, what are you going to do with me?"

Gina started to sob louder, clutching her head. "I just wanted to talk to her. I don't know why she pushed me so hard. I don't understand why she hates me."

My father’s face turned red with anger. "Elisa, you need to learn some manners. This behavior is unacceptable."

"What kind of attitude is that!" Jackson yelled. "You hurt your sister but you won't apologize?"

"I'm the only daughter of my parents" I cried out "Where do I have a sister? I don't have an evil sister like her,"

I tried my possible best to get along with Gina but for some reason, she didn't like me. She was hell bent on causing trouble for me and I had no idea why. She wasn't my sister. Sisters don't do this to each other.

As soon as I said those words, my parents both gasped in horror. The next thing that happened shocked me to my core. My father stepped closer to me and slapped me hard across the face.

I gasped in surprise. Did he just....

The sting of my father’s slap lingered on my cheek. I could feel the heat radiating through my skin I stood there, shocked with my hand on my face. No... This can't be happening.

Tears pricked at my eyes even more and it took every self restraint in me not to cry. I didn't want to give Gian the satisfaction of seeing me in tears.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Gina’s smirk. It was obvious that she was pleased that her plan had worked. Gina always had my parents wrapped around her finger. They didn't care about me one bit. Nobody did, not even my supposed husband.

I was tired of it all. I'm a good person. I deserve to be loved and treated with respect. Why does this keep happening to me?

"How dare you!" my father raised his voice "We didn't teach you to behave this way"

"How could you say that about your sister, Elisa?" my mom said "Why are you so cruel? Can't you see your sister loves you? You keep pushing her away"

I looked at them with tear blurry vision.

“Why do you always take her side?” I asked them, my voice breaking. “I said it once and I'll say it again. She’s not my sister because she’s evil. Can’t you see that? She's deceiving you all”

My father's eyes blazed with anger. He raised his hand to slap me again but Gina stopped him.

Gina sniffled, crying "Father don't. Please, don't hurt her. This is all my fault. I just... I just want a bond with my sister. I don't want you guys to fight"

Jackson shook his head "Can you see how much she cares about you?"

"She's a liar! Can't you all see it?" I shrieked

“That’s enough. Apologize to Gina now!.”

I looked at Jackson, staring at him as if it would be for the last time. . My heart felt like it had been shattered into a thousand pieces. He was supposed to be my husband, my partner. But instead, he was always defending Gina.

“No, I won’t apologize,” I said “I’m done.”

“What did you say?” Jackson asked.

“I said I’m done,” I repeated.

I meant it. I was done with everything - the unfairness, Gina's preferential treatment, my parents' and husband's neglect. I deserved better than this. The next words I said shocked me.

“Jackson, let’s get a divorce. From this day on, I’m no longer the Luna of the Midnight Pack.”
