***ALEXANDER'S***

“Huh?” The word slipped out before I could stop it.

“You said I’m trying to kill you.” She tilted her head, brows knitting slightly.

I looked at her, at that innocent confusion, and shook my head. She had no idea what she was doing to me.

"Fuck. It’s nothing,” I muttered, moving to the bed and sitting beside her, dressed in nothing but my briefs. “How are you feeling?” I asked, forcing my voice to be steady.

Emily shifted closer, resting her head against my chest.

***EMAIL GRAYSON'S***“What?” I asked, narrowing my eyes playfully. “You,” he said simply. “You look like something out of a dream.” I rolled my eyes, but I could feel the warmth creeping into my cheeks.By the time we reached the house, sunlight was pouring through the glass walls, making the ocean beyond shimmer. I stepped inside first, inhaling deeply. No one’s up yet. “I love it here,” I admitted. Alex shut the door behind us, then stepped in close, caging me lightly between himself and the counter.“We can come back every weekend,” he said. “Or… if you want, we could stay here. Make it ours,” he added as I studied him. The man everyone feared—the one who never hesitated, never faltered—looked almost… vulnerable. “You’d get tired of me,” I teased gently. He shook his head immediately. “Impossible.” Silence settled between us. Not uncomfortable—just full. I reached up, cupping his face. “Let’s make it our vacation place,” I said softly. Then I slipped out of his arms and headed to

***EMAIL GRAYSON'S**Under the warm glow of the tent lights, with the ocean whispering just beyond us, I curled into Alex’s chest as we watched *Frozen*. I found myself quietly singing along, barely above a hum, while he pretended not to enjoy it—though the small shifts in his expression gave him away. By the time the credits rolled, I was still humming softly, completely relaxed against him. The fairy lights reflected in my eyes as I tilted my head up. “You enjoyed it,” I teased. “I tolerated it,” he replied smoothly, but the corner of his mouth betrayed him. I laughed, light and easy. For a moment, neither of us spoke. The ocean breeze drifted into the tent, brushing across my bare shoulders. His hand, resting at my waist, slowly tightened. Something in him shifted. The amusement faded—replaced by something deeper. Darker. “You have no idea what you do to me,” he said quietly. My heartbeat quickened.“What do I do?” I whispered. He didn’t answer. His fingers traced slowly up

**EMAIL GRAYSON'S***“Jack said something that day,” I continued quietly. “He said Alex knew something about my parents’ death. I asked Alex, and he said he knows nothing about it. I don’t know who to believe.” “Are you doubting him?” Lexi asked carefully. “I don’t know,” I whispered. “I’m just scared. Because if it turns out to be true… if he really knew something and hid it from me… I’ll hate myself forever for loving him.” My voice faltered. “And I do love him, Lexi. I love him so much.” Tears slipped down my cheeks before I could stop them. Lexi pulled me into a hug immediately, her hand rubbing gently up and down my back. “Your parents weren’t in the mafia. They were simple people,” she said softly. “Did they ever mention the Antonio family?” I shook my head against her shoulder. “No.” “Then why are you stressing yourself out like this?” she murmured, pulling back just enough to wipe my tears. “Stop overthinking and stop crying. You have a surprise date tonight wi

**EMAIL GRAYSON'S**“My entire body hurts,” I muttered, my voice hoarse as I dropped onto a chair at the kitchen island. “I’m dying.” Every movement felt like a mistake. My muscles ached, my head throbbed, and even sitting upright took effort. “But,” I heard Alex murmur behind me, his voice warm and amused, “you look smoking hot.” I barely had time to react before he stepped in close. His nose traced slowly up the curve of my neck, breathing me in like it was something he needed, before pressing a soft kiss to my cheek. A second later, a steaming mug of coffee appeared in front of me. “I highly doubt that,” I muttered, wrapping both hands around it like it might actually save my life. I took a long sip, then leaned forward, resting my forehead against the cool granite. “God…” I groaned. Another groan echoed from the hallway. That did it. Raphael burst out laughing. “How y’all feeling, Lexi-bear?” he called, just as Lexi shuffled into the kitchen, Haze trailing be

***ALEXANDER'S**Raphael grinned. “My pleasure.” I watched him pour what could only be described as aggressive servings of thick, unapologetic shots and set them down in front of the women like he was proud of it. “Jesus, Raphael,” Sergio muttered, eyeing the glasses. “That’s half the damn bottle.” “What?” Raphael scoffed. “A bet is a bet.” Then he turned, raising his voice. “Alex! Haze! You might want to watch your women pay up. It should be very entertaining.” “I think we’re being summoned,” Haze said dryly as she stood. I followed more slowly, my attention already locked on Emily. “Holy hell, Raphael,” Haze said as she dropped into her seat beside Lexi, staring at the pour. “That’s not a shot. That’s a life decision.”The two of them lifted their glasses. “Any last words, ladies?” Raphael teased. Emily straightened slightly, clearing her throat as if she were about to deliver a formal speech. I almost smirked. Then her eyes found mine. She lifted her glass and

***ALEXANDER***I had always admired my office at Antonio’s. It wasn’t just the polished mahogany desk or the tall windows overlooking the city—it was what the room represented: authority, order, control. Everything in it was intentional, calculated. Even the private door hidden behind the bookshelf, leading straight to my weapons and equipment room, was part of that design. Nothing in my world was left unsecured. My phone buzzed against the desk, sharp in the quiet. A message from Raphael: Emily’s up. Heading to the gym. I read it once, then locked the screen, a slow grin pulling at my mouth at the mention of her name alone. The past three weeks had been unexpectedly perfect. Emily had slipped into my life like she had always belonged there. She woke up in my bed. I walked barefoot sometimes through my kitchen and sat on my couch with her legs thrown over my lap while I worked, completely unbothered by the weight of what surrounded her. She filled spaces that had once bee
