Chapter 11

Gypsy froze when the demon spun around and snarled viciously at her. To her horror, the wooden bullet hung suspended in the air between them. She scrambled to her feet still holding the rifle in her hands and couldn’t stop a small frightened sound from escaping her. Then he did something that truly sent a wave of deathly cold through her body… he smiled.

Instinctively knowing what was coming, she quickly dove for cover behind the steel cabinet just as the projectile flew at her.

The bullet burned through her right shoulder making her cry out in pain. The impact was brutal, spinning her around in place just from the sheer force. She hit the steel cabinet chest first then slid down to the floor with a quiet moan, pain blazing through her body.

Samuel tilted his head to the side, his tone mocking as he spoke, “I am insulted that you believed me nothing more than a lowly vampire. Let us make this deal more to your liking… shall we? If I can get through your precious
