4: Little Brother Need To Heal

There was his little brother lying vulnerable before her.

He is a young boy looking very innocent, with curly black colored hair and absolutely sweet-faced.

Far from his proclaimed older brother who looks like somebody owes him a lot of meat.

At one look she could roughly guess the child's age as between seven and eight years old from how small his body was.

If only he was not shaking and sweating excessively as he appeared to be right now.

Sol Ming will believe he is a good child who takes a nap in the afternoon siesta and deserves to be waken with delicious snacks.

However, that wasn't the case when he was obviously under the influence of illness.

She observed the boy's body to find the source of his suffering, and she understood it immediately.

By placing her palm on the child's sweaty head, she was burned.

It is hot. He is burning with fever. The words were distinct and whispering, it's a thought that was predominant in her mind.

Her eyes found themselves looking down to the boy's leg where, seemingly, a recent treatment was done, and there was this black substance that looked very unpleasant over his wounded skin.

What is this thing?

Sol Ming was planning to reach and touch it when suddenly Shan Yang slapped her hand away. It made her winced a little.

The man feels as if he is going to break off her arm.

When she was about to lash out and glared, she was silenced by the barbaric man's look, indicating he would cut her limbs if she dared to move them. Having her look down at the child’s arms in silent frustration.

His limbs have more meat than hers. So, why is this older brother still interested in her lean meat? Quiet in her own exasperation, she didn't notice Shan Yang observing how her face stained with dirt kept changing expression, and nobody knows what he might be thinking.

Sol Ming taking another look, is hesitantly getting more closely to the wounded leg at the same time keeping an eye to Shan Yang's movement from the corner of her sight, and she can't help but worry seeing this unknown black thing.

The worry lines between her brows are clearly visible, and an urgent whisper was in her head.

This is not good. It will get worse if she doesn't do something straightaway.

Without any idea what this black matter on his skin is.

Sol Ming wishes there was a hospital here to take care of this properly. Yet, that was only her wishfull thinking, as this world's residents don't even know how to take care of their hair, and maybe how to bath even.

Sol Ming could only resort to her little modern knowledge about herbal medicines which wouldn't even reach her sister's feet.

At the other hand, Shan Qiu has also been watching the Wu Qing female, Sol Ming, since Shan Yang laid his little brother.

As one of the ranked warriors that robbed the Wu Qing tribe a few days ago.

Shan Qiu knew very well how this female collapsed on the road because of her extreme fatigue and severe wound from one of their blood brother warriors' knife.

He'd seen this female fighting so hard against that warrior  because she doesn't want to sleep with him. Later, it resulted in her dying on the way back to the tribe.

The warrior is very mad and took someone else's slave to vent his anger.

Shan Qiu has no words about the incident but as a bystander.

After announcing the Wu Qing female was dead, she was sent straight to the Slaughter Meat.

Until Shan Yang took her back saying she was barely breathing, and soon perhaps going to die.

Hearing it at first made Shan Qiu laugh, wanting to joke with his blood brother, but now seeing the Wu Qing female alive and touching Shan Mu who was said to be beyond saving anymore.

He was suspicious. A dead coming back alive? Or the other warriors just made a mistake? What could be the reason behind it. . .Shan Qiu knows he doesn't trust this female even in the slightest, but for Shan Yang's little brother, Shan Mu.

He will try to see what this Wu Qing female would do in order to save her own skin.

Sol Ming felt a threatening shadow on her, wanted to look at someone but decided it was better not to do it.

"Master, may I know what the tribe healers told about his condition?"

Shan Yang replied.

"The Great Healer said Mu had Guang's curse, and he would die soon, and the tribe's apprentices did the same thing."

Guang's Curse? Is that kind of superstitious belief of these people? Sol Ming doesn't know if it's wise or not to say something about it.

She eyed  Shan Yang carefully before speaking her thoughts.

"I do not know what Guang's Curse is, yes, but this child will not die anytime soon. He can be saved if we work on his wounds, and it is good, I know a way, Master!" Shan Yang heard the joy in Sol Ming's words.

Though he feel was something off, he can't be bothered by it now. As long as Shan Mu will not go to the embrace of their Dou Yun God. He will believe the other's statement.

Yesterday, when he was out on a tribal hunt, wild beasts attacked the tribe. His little brother was training with other first-leaf ranked warriors when that time happened.

One of the beasts caught Shan Mu's leg, and tribesmen who also got bitten had died after that. Some are lucky enough to survive but his little brother fell into a condition.

After the treatment of their Great Healer, he started hurting in his leg, aching all over his body, and soon cried out till he fell to sleep.

Early this morning he brought Shan Mu to the Great Healer, but it was announced  his little brother wouldn't be able to live on anymore.

"You know?" Shan Yang asked almost shouting at her. "Do you really know?"

"Yes, I know a way," Sol Ming put a thin smile on her lips to hide the uneasiness, knowing that, if only she could find medicinal plants in this place.

Then, this child wouldn't suffer more.

"Master...your little brother is suffering from a very high fever due to the infection of his wound. We need to treat him as soon as possible. "

Shan Qiu narrowed his eyes, "Do we need to cut his leg? The Great Healer said that was the only way. Still, it can't assure if Shan Mu will stay alive."

Amputation? Sol Ming shakes her head twice, raising her hands, as she recalled the scene earlier. "No, no need for that. He will only lose his leg."

"You're not lying just to save yourself?" Shan Yang's expression turned hard, questioning her out of the blue.

Sol Ming can't deny she was caught off-guard by the look in his eyes, but she didn't let herself waver and face the barbaric man head-on.

"I am not lying. I hope Master will believe me," she says pouting her lips subconsciously as her eyes blink a bit faster and speaks to Shan Yang again with the tone admitting a matter of fact.

" The little brother can be cured without getting his leg cut off, it would only be a pity if he woke without another leg."

Who would like to lose a limb here? Not Sol Ming.

And she didn't wish to see this child lose any part of his body because of people's ignorance.

"Heal my little brother, and I will take you as a sl*ve of mine."

No way! Who's the sl*ve of who! No way in over my dead body!

Shan Yang's eyes were seemingly glaring daggers and Sol Ming's complains slowly fading away at the back of her mind.

She, as a sl*ve, it is better than to become meat.

At least she has a chance to escape somewhere.

With that being affirmed to her future plans.

A light nod was given.

"I understand. Master, then may I request water to drink?" Sol Ming dryly fake coughs squeezing some crocodile tears.

Inside her mind was full of curses she can imagine yelling out. Oh, God! Curse this condition! Her throat is damn hurt and dry, but she has to speak with these barbarians!

Shan Yang didn't bother to look then ignored her.

Both men left the tent without uttering a single word; nevertheless, they stood near the entrance.

Shan Qiu looked stern facing his blood brother.

"Are you not afraid she will kill Mu?" Shan Yang understood what the other meant.

He's aware of the Wu Qing Tribe's reputation.

" Mu have to survive. He is still a child to be taken back by the Dou Yun God, and he doesn't need to cross the next life this early."
