Lexie's POV:

Jonas looked at me like I’d sprouted horns out of my head. His eyes widened, disbelieving, as if I’d just confessed to seeing ghosts.

“What?” he asked slowly. “You knew I was lying?”

I shook my head, my voice quiet but firm. “No. I just know Paul is alive.”

My hand instinctively went to my belly. There was something unexplainable tying all of this together. The ache in my chest. The dreams. The gut feeling that throbbed with each heartbeat. Paul was alive. I didn’t need proof. I felt him.

Jonas looked like he wanted to laugh, or maybe scream. “Lexie, that’s not—”

“If you don’t know where he is,” I cut in, my voice gaining strength, “then it just means I need to try harder to find him.”

I began to swing my legs off the bed, ignoring the dull ache in my lower back and the IV tugging at my skin. My feet touched the cold tile floor. I winced, but pushed myself up.

I didn’t get far.

Jonas moved quickly, his hand clamping gently but firmly on my shoulder, stopping me mid-motion

Author's POV:The healer sat quietly for a moment, hands folded in her lap, eyes fixed on Paul. He stood tall, but she could see the faint tremor in his fingers, the tension straining across his shoulders. His mind was clear, but his body still bore the weight of what had been done.“I’ll help you,” she finally said, her voice calm and resolute. “I have seen the truth in your eyes, Paul. The kind of love you carry… it doesn’t come often. And clearly, nothing and no one can convince you to stay away from your mate.”Paul’s shoulders relaxed slightly. A quiet breath left him, as if he’d been holding it all this time. The healer’s gaze softened, but her words still held weight. “Even though helping you will break my granddaughter’s heart,” she continued, “I can’t commit more sins. Not when it’s so clear what the Moon Goddess herself wants.”Paul met her eyes, silent but listening.“She gave you this bond for a reason,” the healer said. “If that injection couldn’t sever your connection…

Katrine's POV:It was almost a week ago that I realized, how badly Jonas was affected by me… especially when I was playing by his rules. I had dropped by his room after my training session, still catching my breath, braid half-loose, the scent of sweat clinging faintly to my skin. My tank top clung to my torso, my leggings hugged me like a second skin, and honestly, I hadn’t thought twice about it. It was just another day, another workout. I hadn’t even expected him to stare, but Jonas… looked like he’d been punched in the gut.He was sitting on the edge of his desk, trying and failing to look casual, but his eyes told another story entirely. He was watching me like a man trying to stop himself from drowning. At first, I thought he was zoning out. But then I noticed where his gaze had landed, on my waist, my chest, and then… yeah. Definitely my ass.I turned to grab my water bottle from the bookshelf behind him, and when I looked back, he still hadn’t moved. He was staring, and his

Author's POV:Jonas stood by the window, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, jaw clenched as his eyes scanned the horizon beyond the compound. The sky was dimming into a moody gray, thick clouds clinging low like the dread pooling in his gut. His posture was rigid, shoulders drawn with tension, and though he tried to shake it off, a storm had been brewing inside him all day, and it wasn’t letting up.The door creaked open behind him, but he didn’t turn.“Jonas!” Katrine’s voice called out with a bright lilt, cheerful as always. “Look what I got during training today!” She walked in holding up a wooden plaque with gold lettering, pride radiating from her face. “Top score in reflex rounds—again.”But her steps faltered the moment she truly looked at him.Jonas didn’t answer. He didn’t even flinch, too caught in his thoughts. She halted mid-step, her smile faltering as she registered his expression—distant, troubled, and far too serious.Slowly, she came closer and slipped her arms

Author's POV:The healer stared at him like he’d grown another head. Her lips parted, her expression frozen in stunned disbelief.“You remember… even after that injection?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.Paul’s gaze didn’t waver. “Yes,” he said. “Every single thing.”She took a half step closer, her brows pulling together. “What do you remember exactly, Paul? How much?”He let out a slow breath, steadying the tremor in his chest. “Everything,” he repeated. “My name. My pack. My mate. Her scent. Her voice. The way she always bit her lip when she was nervous. Everything.”He pushed himself upright, swinging his legs over the side of the cot, ignoring the ache in his muscles. “I need to go. She’ll be waiting for me.”The healer blinked rapidly. “Wait! Paul, you just woke up from the effect of the drug, it will take at least a week to recover–”He cut her off with a sharp look. “I don’t care. I need to reach her, NOW. What do you not understand about it? I don't have a we

Jonas' POV:I shut the door to my study with more force than I meant to, the thud echoing back at me like a challenge. A breath hissed out between my teeth as I braced my hands on my waist, my head tipping back. Then slowly, my fingers moved to the bridge of my nose, rubbing hard like I could scrub away the tension burrowed deep behind my eyes.Damn it, Lexie!I had told myself I wouldn’t show my face to her until I had something solid about Paul. That was the plan. A little self-discipline, a little space… maybe it would help us both. But Katrine had almost forced the guilt out of my chest. She had said that I was punishing myself more than anyone else, and Lexie… Lexie needed me, whether she wanted to admit it or not.So I went again. I stood at her door, knocked, stepped into that room like a soldier crossing a minefield. And what did I find? The same thing as every time before. The walls around her were thicker than steel. Her arms wrapped around herself, eyes hollow, face set li

  • Scar : the rejected Luna   156. I remember

Paul's POV:The first thing I noticed was the smell. Damp stone, mildew, and something stale that clung to the back of my throat like rot. My head pounded in dull waves, and my limbs felt like they had been dipped in wet cement. The air was cool and heavy, pressing down like a weight on my chest. I blinked, once, twice… and then squinted into the dimness. The room was grey, dingy, the kind of place built to forget the sun existed. There were absolutely no windows. The walls were rough stone, patched with moss in places, and the light, if you could call it that, seeped from a single flickering lantern bolted high near the ceiling. I’d never seen this place before.I tried to sit up, but the pressure on my chest came fast and firm.“Don’t…”The voice said softly. “I’m not going to hurt you.”I turned my head and found her—the old healer—sitting beside my bed. Her eyes were tired, hands folded in her lap like she had been waiting for a long time. Her tone was gentle, but I wasn’t buy
