Xander's POV

A hand slaps my back, and I glance up to see one of the warriors, Connor… I think? grinning at me, still puffing hard. “Great pacing, Alpha. That was tough, but you judged it perfectly.” He gives me a respectful nod before walking off.

I straighten up, stunned. I had no idea what I was doing out there, and his comment catches me completely off guard. The other warrior, maybe Eric, nods at me as well. Then Oscar and Max come over, slapping me on the shoulders.

“Well done, mate,” Oscar says quietly, his tone full of sincerity.

I’m speechless. I glance around and notice that not many others have made it back yet. Those of us who have are either bent over, gasping for air, or lying flat on the grass. As I suspected, Oscar looks slightly better off than me, but not by much. Max is faring about the same as I am.

Once I can breathe somewhat normally again, I start walking laps around the field, stretching out my arms as I go. Gradually, I feel my body returning to normal. When

Xander's POVBefore I can get much further, cheers erupt from behind me.“Excellent, Oscar! And Max, well done!” Greg’s voice carries across the field.I glance back, and sure enough, both Oscar and Max have managed it. They’re standing in wolf form, looking smug as hell. My stomach sinks.‘Great,’ I mutter internally. ‘Now the pressure’s on.’Atlas chuckles softly in my mind. ‘Forget them. Focus on us. This isn’t about beating anyone else. This is about us. Let me in, and let’s do this.’I square my shoulders, take another deep breath, and try again.I focus on my breathing, letting it settle into a steady rhythm. A strange sensation ripples through me, as though Atlas is pushing himself under my skin.‘That’s it. Breathe again and open our eyes.’ His voice is calm but insistent.I do as he says, and when I open my eyes, the world looks different. Colours seem more vibrant, edges sharper, and I can see the faint shimmer of heat rising from the mats. My senses feel alive in a way I’ve

Xander's POVWhile it feels incredible to have my dad’s, and therefore my mum’s acceptance, his words about my future mate’s feelings hit harder than I expected. Max and I had already decided not to pursue things further, so I haven’t brought it up with him again. But that doesn’t make the thought any easier to shake.I sigh, shoving my revision folder and textbooks aside. I hate biology. I’m pretty sure I’ve accomplished nothing useful over the last couple of hours. For some reason, I thought studying in my room would help me focus, but I was wrong. Normally, I’d study in the dining room with the others, but Zahra had an exam, and the dining room felt unnecessary without her constant sarcastic commentary to keep me awake.I glance at my watch. Training is coming up soon. Finally, something productive. I get up, change into my gear, and head down to the kitchen for a protein shake before the session. Greg is leading our group today, pushing us through an extra session on wolf combat.

Xander's POVIt feels like everything is flying by lately. We’ve been so focused on overhauling the training schedules and implementing the new structure that I barely noticed how quickly time has passed. Now that the changes are finally in place, I can’t believe the difference it’s made. Instead of massive training sessions crammed with everyone at once, we’ve split into smaller groups of about 20 to 50 wolves. It’s more intense, more focused, and we’ve been working harder than ever. The guys and I have been moved into the warrior groups because we’re too advanced for the non-ranked 16- to 18-year-old group. Dad is already pushing us towards the elite teams, which is fine by me. I like the challenge. With the new military structure in place, everything feels sharper, more organized. We’ve created six squads, each with 50 wolves, as well as an elite force of 12. Each squad has its own leader, lieutenant, and strategist, all reporting directly to our new head warrior, Adam Cox. The eli

Lincoln's POThe only free seat is on the sofa next to Logan, so I take it, ignoring his smug expression as I sit down. Dad is waving his arms dramatically, clearly in the middle of making a point. Whatever this meeting is about, it seems to have him worked up.“Now is our time. My contact says Blood Moon has weakened itself and is vulnerable,” Dad declares, his voice sharp and commanding.“Louis, to weaken Blood Moon, they’d have to lose half their fighters for us to stand a chance,” Malcom counters, his tone sceptical.Dad scoffs and waves off the concern. “They aren’t that much stronger than us, Malcom. Have more faith in our warriors.”“I do have faith in our warriors,” Malcom replies steadily. “However, Blood Moon has considerably more of them. We&rsq

Lincoln's POVAs we enter English, I notice Sam sitting at a desk across the aisle from mine.Curiosity gets the better of me, and I lean over, extending a hand. “Hello, Sam, is it? I’m Lincoln Grey, future Alpha of the Shadow Pack. It’s nice to meet you.”He shakes me hand “Sam, Sam Williamson”He pauses, looking at me appraisingly, a small smile playing at his lips as he shakes my hand. “I didn’t think that squirt with the chip on his shoulder I met just now was the future Alpha I’d heard about.”His words catch me off guard, and I raise an eyebrow at him, intrigued. “What have you heard?”“This and that,” he says with a casual shrug. Goddess, that sounds ominous. I decide to steer the conversation to safer ground. “Where have you transferred from?”“My

Lincoln's POVI pull into the school parking lot with a heavy sigh, gripping the steering wheel tighter than necessary. Another day in this hellhole. I fucking hate school. Don’t get me wrong—my grades are good, and as the future Alpha, I’m popular. Too popular. Everyone practically worships the ground I walk on, and it makes my skin crawl.Dad encourages it, of course. He thrives on the idea of the Alpha being untouchable, a god among wolves. Logan, my little brother, eats that shit up like candy. He hangs on every word Dad spits out, soaking it all in like a sponge. But me? I hate it.An Alpha shouldn’t be worshipped. The way I see it, an Alpha is responsible for the pack. It’s our duty to protect, defend, support, and nurture them. We’re supposed to lead by example, not from a gilded throne while weaker members fawn over us and get stomped into th
