CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

The next couple of days were a total whirlwind as I scrambled to pull together all the Founder's Day activities. I was having daily check-in meetings with Alex to keep him updated on the progress.

"Good morning Mr. Hernandez," I said with a light rap on his open door frame. "You got a few minutes for me to give you a quick status update?"

Alex looked up from his computer screen, his expression pained as usual. "Yes, let's get this over with. What's the latest headache you have for me?"

Ignoring his total lack of enthusiasm, I launched right into it. "Okay, so Finance finally approved the budget for all the Founder's Day events - food trucks, entertainment, employee gifts, the whole nine yards."

"Well, at least some people over there can handle their basic job duties," Alex muttered under his breath.
