Christine’s POV

Stepping inside the house, about to head to my room, the yelling starts the moment I step through the doors. The air was filled with tension, and I barely had time to set my purse on the entryway table before Gregory and Lilith, my parents, descended on me with their cruel words. Their faces are twisted with fury, eyes blazing, and their voices relentless.

“Traitor!” my father bellows, his voice echoing off. He’s standing in the foyer, his fists clenched at his sides. His face is red, the veins in his neck bulging as he glares at me. “How could you do this to your own sister? Sending Lisa to prison? You’re heartless, Christine!”

Lilith steps forward, as she points a finger at me as her eyes are filled with rage and something else like betrayal, maybe. “Selfish bastard. You’ve always been this way, haven’t you? Thinking only of yourself!” Her voice yells. “We gave you everything, and this is how you repay us?”

I stand there, my arms crossed tightly over my chest. My hea

Francis’s POVThe late afternoon sun casts glows through the towering glass windows of Fredrick’s estate as I pull up in my silver Bentley. I adjust my cufflinks and step out, my expensive shoes shining under the sunlight. My purpose today is to turn Fredrick, Christine’s grandfather, completely against her. It’s a calculated move, one that will solidify my control and bury Christine’s influence once and for all.The butler, an older man with a stiff posture opens the heavy door before I even knock. “Mr. Francis,” he says, “Mr. Fredrick is expecting you in the study.” I nod, offering a thin smile, and stride past him. Fredrick’s study is a fortress of dark mahogany and leather-bound tomes, the kind of room that screams power. He’s seated behind a massive desk. His eyes, cold and emotionless the moment they fix on me as I enter. He doesn’t stand, doesn’t offer a handshake, just gestures to the chair across from him with a flick of his wrist. I sit, crossing one leg over the other, my

Francis’s POVI stood frozen, my feet rooted at the spot of the Harrington Tech boardroom, the court order oddly feeling heavy in my hands and my chest at its thought, each typed word was a pain slicing through the victory I’d just tasted a moment ago. Christine’s name glared up at me, etched in black ink beside accusations that made my stomach churn, fraud and emotional abuse. My pulse thundered in my ears. The room, moments ago alive with the scratch of Grandfather’s pen signing over half the company, now felt like a tomb, silent except for the rustle of the paper in my grip as I continued to squeeze it in anger.“How?” my voice barely above a whisper, with disbelief. I lifted my eyes to Christine, standing just a few feet away, her posture relaxed. Her lips still curved in that maddeningly calm smile. It wasn’t the smile I’d known years ago, the warm and inviting kind, the kind that made me think we could’ve had something real. This one was cold. It didn’t reach her eyes. “How di

Christine’s POVShortly, the judge’s gavel fell with a sharp sound, sealing Francis’s victory. “I hereby declare Francis not guilty.” She says. The words echoed in my mind. Francis rose beside me, his shoulders relaxing for the first time all day, a faint smile tugging at his lips. His eyes caught mine with gratitude, and I returned a small nod, keeping my expression neutral. The courtroom buzzed with murmurs, but I barely heard them. My focus was fixed on the next move.We stepped into the aisle, Francis matching my stride as we headed out at the back of the courtroom. The air outside felt cooler. Francis was saying something. about the ruling, about the company and how grateful he is but I only half-listened, my attention snagged by Lisa rushing toward us. Her black suit was slightly wrinkled now, her blonde hair slipping from its neat bun, strands of her hair flushed her face. Her eyes were cold with something else like fear, maybe, or desperation. She stopped short in front of

Lisa’s POVThe day of the first court hearing finally came, and the courtroom was filled with quiet tension. I sat there in my black suit, my hands folded tightly in my lap, trying to steady the faint tremor that had lingered since that night. The room was stuffy, with high ceilings and wooden paneling. Sunlight filtered through the tall windows. Grandfather sat beside me, his posture ramrod straight. His face was filled with calm authority. Across the aisle, Francis looked calm as he sat.At first, everything seemed to be going really well for our side. Grandfather’s lawyer, opened strong, painting Francis as a disgruntled opportunist trying to steal half of Harrington Tech through baseless claims. Then Grandfather took the stand, his voice steady and commanding as he leaned into the microphone. “Your Honor,” he said, his eyes scanning the room with that piercing gaze of his, “Francis’s assertion that my granddaughter Christine rejected his marriage proposal is nothing but a fabric

Lisa’s POVThe next morning, I drag myself through the front door of Grandfather’s sprawling estate, my body is heavy with exhaustion. The drive back from the apartment last night feels like a fever dream as my mind replayed the impossible, a spotless apartment, no blood, no body. My body still tremble, though I try to hide it, clutching my purse strap as I step into the foyer. I’m barely two steps in when I see Grandfather sitting in the leather armchair by the fireplace in the living room. His eyes lock onto me the moment I appear. He doesn’t move, doesn’t speak, but the weight of his gaze pins me in place. My stomach twists, and I swallow hard, forcing my legs to carry me forward.“Lisa,” he says, his voice low and gravelly, cutting through the silence. “Sit down.”I hesitate, my fingers tightening around my purse strap. The air feels suffocating, and I want to run, to bolt back out the door, but I know better. I lower myself onto the edge of the sofa across from him, my posture
