Chapter 110

Author: Cloud Drop
Archer rubbed his temple, feeling a headache coming on.

He actually didn't live here. This apartment was specially arranged as their new home for his marriage to Aria, but he hadn't anticipated this oversight.

"This is our new place," Archer explained simply.

Aria understood then. A new home—their marital home. Some things hadn't been set up yet, especially since they had gotten their marriage certificate in such a hurry.

In the end, Archer ordered room service from a nearby hotel.

Aria didn't eat but had a cup of warm milk instead, as was her habit before bed.

Holding her empty milk mug, she finally spoke after a long pause, "I think it would be better if we lived separately until we build an emotional foundation... Some things are better when they happen naturally. What do you think, Archer?"

She had been nervous for a long time before finally saying this.

Although she had gone to the family estate with Archer and discovered through the photo album that they had a connection

Most business partners had simply liked the post or offered congratulations, but his close friends and brother, who were clearly suffering from this news, were all being passive-aggressive. Ethan was leading the charge.Grandma Marianne must have called all of their families—quite amusing.Archer took a bit of pleasure in their misfortune. He didn't reply to any of these comments, just raised an eyebrow casually and put his phone down."I promised Chris

"I suddenly feel like meeting Larry wasn't such a sad thing after all."She spoke just as he was about to kiss her.At the mention of Larry, Archer's eyes darkened."Why do you say that?"She nestled almost entirely in his arms and said, "I think I went through those hardships to exchange the first half of my life for the chance to meet you."After the storm comes the rainbow—isn't that how it works?Archer looked at her, his gaze that had turned cold at Larry's name now warming with a smile."How do you know we wouldn't have met without Larry?"We met very early on, didn't we?"If not for Larry, perhaps she would have been his wife long ago.So with or without Larry, they would have met anyway.Aria caught his implied meaning, and suddenly felt a bittersweet sensation in her heart. In her most innocent years, she hadn't thought about the future when she fell head over heels for a boy as free as the wind. But how could anyone catch the wind?If she had met Archer back then

From this close, Aria looked at his face—handsome and elegant. Water droplets slid down his forehead from his black hair, dampening his eyebrows and eyelashes."So kissing is allowed," he said, yet he didn't take the initiative to kiss her.Aria, as if embarrassed by his smile, instinctively lowered her head and placed a light kiss on his eyelashes."Did you call me 'Mr. Duncan' many times again today?" Archer seized the moment, turning his head to kiss her neck, inhaling the sweet fragrance of her skin.He said, "Now that we've gotten our marriage certificate, how about calling me 'hubby' so I can hear it?"He always seemed to enjoy teasing her.He could tell Aria was nervous. The way he spoke seemed like he was both teasing her and trying to lighten the mood, making her feel less awkward.Aria paused, her ears seemingly turning red. Her skin, already soft and flushed from the shower, now appeared even softer and redder. She couldn't help biting her lower lip and after a long

"So, what does 'first real man mean? Care to explain?"Seeing her frozen stance and flushed cheeks, Archer raised an eyebrow slightly.Aria retreated awkwardly until her back hit the wall. The sudden cold from the ceramic tiles made her shiver. Before she could adjust to the chill against her back, he had already moved closer, sliding his hand between the wall and her back. His warm, strong palm pressed against her.Aria was somewhat dazed, her body beginning to heat up.It was all Christina's fault for saying such things. In truth, during her three years of marriage to Larry, they had never been intimate. Because Larry blamed her for Linda’s death, he had married her only to torment her.He had many female companions and often stayed out overnight. Lucy was just one of his many lovers. He had been with many women, but never touched her.During that first year when she still loved Larry deeply, she would repeatedly ask herself why things had come to this, why she couldn't win b

Later, Ryan kept transferring schools—from Harbour City to Boston, and then overseas. After that, Aria lost track of him.It wasn't until after she married Larry that she learned Ryan was Larry's cousin. From birth, Ryan had been forced to live in Larry's shadow because the Spencer family made it clear who the golden child was.But after all these years, Larry had finally reaped what he sowed. The young Ryan who had always stepped aside had grown up, and now he was in charge of the family business. While Aria was lost in thought, Christina exclaimed again, "Aria, how did Archer react when he found out about your divorce?"Aria didn't plan to hide anything from Christina and replied, "He took me to get our marriage license.""..."Christina couldn't catch her breath."Honey, did I hear wrong or did you misspeak? He took you to get what?"Aria repeated, "Marriage license."Okay, okay, she heard "marriage license" correctly.Christina was still completely bewildered."Wait, sw

Aria thought to herself that she wasn't agreeable at all—she was incredibly stubborn.Archer: "..."It was the first time in his life someone had called him fussy, and it was his little wife who said it.But looking down at the soft crown of her head as she lowered it, he thought to himself: what's wrong with his little wife teasing him a bit? Grandma called him a "little brat" every day, which was much worse than being called fussy. He'd chosen this wife himself. He should give in."Fine, you can stay in the guest room."When Aria heard this, she went "tap-tap-tap" as she scurried back to the guest room. Her cheerful retreat left Archer feeling deflated. The "tap-tap-tap" had barely stopped when Aria came running back: "Archer, let me help you clean up the master bedroom."She did have some conscience after all.Archer nodded slightly and made a sound of agreement. He first tore down all the baby pictures from the wall, rolling them up and putting them in a box, planning to t
