Chapter 263

Author: Cloud Drop
Aria tugged lightly on Archer’s coat sleeve and whispered, “Come on, let’s go. Don’t make a scene.”

Archer smiled faintly. His elegant hand reached down and gently wrapped around hers, his fingers weaving through hers.

She instinctively gave a light squeeze, feeling the strength in his long, defined fingers—solid and unmistakably masculine.

It wasn’t until they got into the car that Aria finally asked, “You’re out now… so where are we going?”

“I’m taking you back to the family estate,” Archer replied. “My parents brought Kandice home.”

He didn’t mention how welcoming his mother had been to Kandice—treating her like a future daughter-in-law and clearly trying to push things along.

He’d decided to bring Aria back today for one reason: to make his stance clear. He wanted to put a stop to Grace’s little schemes once and for all.

He didn’t say that out loud. He didn’t want Aria to feel pressured or hurt.

Still, she figured it out. If Kandice had been brought home, it meant Grace wan

Out of nowhere, a mischievous idea popped into her head. She glanced at Archer, who—as always—looked like he’d stepped out of a magazine. With a glint of playfulness in her eyes, she asked, “Ever had deep-fried blue cheese balls?”Archer gave her a cool glance, clearly unimpressed. That kind of greasy street food? Definitely not something he’d go near. But Aria grinned and tugged him toward the vendor anyway. “One order, please!”The food came out fast. The vendor scooped the crispy bites into a paper tray and drizzled them generously with hot sauce. Aria held the box in both hands—the heat from the fresh oil seeped through the carton and warmed her fingertips. She grabbed a skewer, stabbed one, and popped it into her mouth. It was still piping hot—she had to fan her mouth, cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk. Then, without hesitation, she speared another and held it up to Archer’s mouth. “Try it!”Archer raised a brow, clearly reluctant.“Come on,” she nudged, “just one.”Under

After leaving the Grandview, since neither of them had stayed for the banquet, Archer didn’t hesitate to take Aria out for a proper meal.Being with Archer meant even meals had standards. The places he frequented were always upscale—private clubs owned by people like Ethan or fine-dining establishments like the Grandview itself. Anything less rarely made it onto his radar. But with the Grandview booked out for the Chancer wedding, and Ethan’s club being too far, Archer turned to her and asked, “What do you feel like eating?”Aria hesitated for a second, then smiled. “Street food.”Just across the plaza behind the hotel, there was a street known for its food stalls. It was a local landmark, though mostly popular with tourists. Locals tended to avoid it—prices were steep, and the vendors were known to overcharge, especially foreigners. Still, the food wasn’t bad.Since it was close by, Archer went along with her request. He found a place to park, then reached for her hand. Their fi

“I just wanted a beautiful wedding,” Fifi cried, voice cracking. “Something I’d remember for the rest of my life. Is that so wrong? Why does Aria have to ruin everything for me?”Mark didn’t respond. There was no point. Arguing with her was like talking to a wall.Still, he hadn’t expected Archer to step in like that—so decisively, without a second thought for Fifi’s feelings.Mark turned, opened the door, and told the stylist waiting outside, “Help her get cleaned up. Quickly.”—At the banquet table, Lillian was too upset to eat. The table was piled high with delicacies—lobster tail, filet mignon, truffle mashed potatoes, foie gras, and caviar—yet everything tasted like cardboard.Fifi and Mark had gone to toast the Duncan side of the family first. Fine. But just when they were finally about to make their way over, something happened. Now they were still missing, and Lillian hadn’t even gotten a single glass of wine from her new daughter-in-law. She was starting to think Aria h

“What do you mean I did it on purpose?!” Fifi snapped, glaring at Mark. “I barely touched her glass! She’s the one who made it look like I was bullying her—she totally set me up! I didn’t even use any force. She tilted her own glass toward herself!”Her bare shoulders trembled with rage beneath the strapless leather dress. “Are you seriously taking her side over mine?”“I’m just stating what I saw,” Mark said, exhaling a puff of smoke. “You were the one who made the first move. If you hadn’t, Archer wouldn’t have stepped in to defend her. Your dress wouldn’t be ruined, and we’d still be out there doing the rounds. Instead, half the guests are whispering about you right now.”“So that’s it—you’re on her side,” Fifi said, her voice rising. “I’m your wife now. You should be standing up for me, not her. Don’t tell me you still believe Aria’s some innocent saint. You think she’s that good? Please. If she were really that perfect, how’d she manage to reel in my brother? You think it’s eas

Aria let out a frustrated breath. Fifi had clearly tried to splash her with wine, and now she was flipping the story to play the victim.“We’ve attended the wedding. We’ve got other things to handle, so we’ll head out,” Archer said calmly, standing at the table without even the slightest change in expression. He looked as detached as if this weren’t even his sister’s wedding—just a stranger’s.Robert’s face was frozen in a grim expression. If he’d known things would blow up like this, he would’ve made them leave the moment they walked in.No one said a word. Archer reached out and took Aria’s hand. His grip was firm and steady—lean but strong, making her feel grounded.Aria didn’t argue or object. She followed his lead the whole time, silently going along with every decision he made. When the two of them reached the hotel entrance, they ran into Ethan, who had just stepped out of a car. Seeing them together, he froze for a second. He knew Archer was bold, but he hadn’t expected hi

Before Aria could react, Fifi tilted her glass hard, sending a wave of red wine straight toward her chest. It wasn’t subtle—she was clearly trying to make a scene. Aria flinched, but it was too late. But before it could, another glass suddenly swung in from the side and struck Fifi’s with a sharp clink. That elegant, pale hand gripping the stem was unmistakable. Even in a split-second, Aria instantly recognized it—Archer. With a casual flick of his wrist, graceful and controlled, Archer redirected Fifi’s glass away with barely any effort.Aria steadied her own glass just in time. The deep red wine swirled violently but didn’t spill. She exhaled in relief—no scene, no mess.Fifi, however, wasn’t so lucky. The wine that was meant to splash Aria now sloshed backward—straight onto Fifi herself. Caught completely off guard, she had no time to react. Archer’s move was so fast and unexpected, no one could intervene.Red wine streamed down the front of her custom cocktail dress—an elabo
