“I'm not interested in attending the party.” Sophia said as calmly as she could but honestly, her creepy manager was starting to get on her nerves.
“It's not your choice to make, Soph.-”
“Stop calling me that. My name is Sophia.” She glared at him.
“Sorry, Sophia. The big boss is coming today and as his employees, we need to be present at his welcome party.” Andre smiled.
Sophia huffed and stormed out of his office and with every step she made, she could feel Andre’s lingering gaze on her backside.
That pervert!
“Are you okay?” Indira, one of her colleagues asked as Sophia plopped on her chair.
“No, it's this stupid party.” She bit her lips in anger.
“What's wrong with it? Aren't you excited? Everyone says he is handsome and quite the catch. I heard he's also single.” Indira giggled.
“I'm not trying to gain his attention.”
“Not if you're dressed that way.” Indira made a gesture at her entire outfit, “That black jumpsuit you have on is hugging every curve God bless you with and then you packed your hair in an updo exposing your neck. You look like you're hunting.”
“Hunting for who?” One of her eyebrows shot up in pure genuine confusion.
“An unsuspecting god-level hotness billionaire, perhaps?” Indira shrugged.
“Honestly, if I had a body like yours, Ben would not be leaving my bed tonight.” She grinned.
Sophia shook her head, Indira was not a slut but the words that sometimes came out of her mouth would make one think otherwise.
It's not the notion of the party that made her upset, it was the lingering feeling in the pit of her stomach, the kind that she got whenever something was going to go wrong.
Somehow, she could feel that something bad would happen at that party and that's why she didn't want to go.
Might as well finish my work for today… She thought to herself and began clicking away at her keyboard.

*AT THE PARTY*
“Come on girl! Loosen up! You're sticking out like a sore thumb.” Indira grinned as she grabbed Sophia by her hand and pulled her to the dance floor.
“I'm not in the mood, Indira.” Sophia whined.
“Silly! Come on. Wait! Let me get you a drink.”
Mary, who had been watching Sophia all night to make sure she tried nothing funny, saw this as an opportunity and immediately swooped in.
She was going to get Sophia out of the way. She would not let her steal the spotlight from her. All night, Andre had been eyeing Sophia and she knew that if Ben saw Sophia, he might fall for her.
Mary couldn't let that happen.
She grabbed a waiter and stuffed some cash in his hand.
“You see that girl over there,”
“The pretty one in black?”
Mary scowled, “Yes, her. Give her this drink and tell her it's from Indira. Make sure she drinks it all.”
Mary watched as the waiter walked up to Sophia and watched as she drank it all.
Sophia immediately began to feel dizzy.
When did I become such a lighthead? I could at least take three glasses before the alcohol kicks in. Sophia thought to herself.
“Oh, you've already had a drink!” Indira smiled as she dropped the extra glass on the bar stand beside Sophia.
“Didn't you send it? Gosh, I feel tired all of a sudden.” Sophia yawned. “I need to use the bathroom.”
“Don't worry, we’ve been given permission to use the guest rooms in the house. So just take one and rest. I'll see you tomorrow in the office, okay?”
Indira leaned over and pecked her cheeks before scramming away.
Sophia had no idea how she was able to make it up the stairs into one of the guestrooms, but the minute she was done, she collapsed on the bed and passed out.
Chris stumbled into his room drunk. His eyes were very clear or at least he thought they were.
He'd been waiting for her text all through the night but received nothing back in return. Maybe she had something to do or perhaps…perhaps…
He stopped as he saw a body wrapped in his white bedsheet, sleeping peacefully.
Mia…
He whispered to himself.
He didn't know how she could possibly be in his room but Chris was damn sure that the woman on his bed was Mia.
Hi Mia.
He quickly pulled off his clothes and got into the bed with Mia.
She smelt nice, better than before and her skin felt softer. A small purr left his lips as he buried his nose in her neck. He sucked at the sensitive spot in her neck that he was very familiar with and even deep in her sleep, she responded to him.
She always responded to him and it always drove him crazy how sensitive she was.
“You have no idea what you do to me, Mia.” He murmured against her skin and his hands began to work.
He needed to feel her naked skin against his, badly, he had to.
He reached around for an opening in her dress and smiled as he felt the zipper. In less than seconds, Mia was naked underneath him, surrounded by the ghostly color of the moonlight illuminating his bedroom.
His finger traced the soft curve of her face and he leaned down to kiss her lips, claiming them softly and tugging on it in a lover’s gentle caress.
He pulled away when he felt her shift against him.
“My Mia. My Love…”
She raised her hand slowly to frame his face, rubbing the pad of her fingertips against his chiseled jaw and his right cheekbone.
Chris had to admit, his Mia was looking more beautiful in the moonlight.
“I've been waiting for you.” he whispered in her ears as he bit against the skin of her neck.
“The wait is finally over. I'm here now.” He whispered as he thrust into her pleasing heat, wet and tight for him.
CHAPTER 21After what felt like forever, Chris returned with a brown bag filled with food. He entered the mansion and made his way to their room.Sophia was fast asleep, the blanket thrown aside. Chris couldn't help but smile to himself while staring at her sleeping figure. He bent down and tapped her cheeks softly, trying to wake her up. She ignored him and turned to the other side. Chris was amused at first, but went ahead and tapped her lightly once more.“Sophia. Sophia,” he called softly. She grumbled. “Come on, Kira. Can we not do—”Sophia paused once her gaze landed on Chris. Then she recalled that she wasn't roommates with Kira anymore. She lives with Chris now.“Oh, sorry about that.”Chris brought out the food. “Get up. You need to eat,” he stated coldly, not acknowledging her apology. She sat up straight, staring at the meal and trying not to drool. “Italian food?” Her eyes lit up in excitement.“Hmhm,” he responded. “Do you not like it?”“I love it,” she beamed. “Thank y
CHAPTER 20Sophia stood to one side, feeling out of place and completely invisible. The couple showered each other with kisses, acting like she wasn't there.“Come eat,” Mia beamed. She pulled Chris by the arm and dragged him towards the dining table. It was a simple dinner, but it still looked delicious. The sight of it made Sophia's stomach grumble. She'd been swamped with work all day and didn't mind if she ate something, but she knew better. “Here you go.” She handed him a spoon. “Take a bite,” she urged, a grin spreading across her lips.Chris took the spoon from her, staring at the food longer than usual. “You don't cook, Mia. So, I just find it hard to believe that you made all these.”Mia gasped dramatically, clutching her chest tightly. “I have been taking a cooking class and wanted to surprise you,” she said, rubbing his shoulders. “After all, I will soon be Mrs white and can't be lacking in any areas.”Their eyes darted towards my direction briefly. Their eyes met for a se
CHAPTER 19The day went by in a blur. Her day was filled with meetings, working on files, and spending most of her time at the lounge printing different copies of documents. She stretched her arms, letting out a yawn. She was the only one left in her cubicle; most of her coworkers had gone home. She got up, gathered her things in her bag, and was about to leave. Then the sharp sound of heels clicking on the marble floor caught her attention. She lifted her gaze and met Mary. “Oh, hi Mary,” she greeted, still packing her things and barely paying any attention to her.Mary tilted her head. “Are you leaving?”Sophia glanced at her briefly before nodding slowly. “Yes. It's five pm already,” she gestured to the table clock on her desk.Mary pouted. “Too bad. I was hoping you could work on these files and submit them on my desk by tomorrow morning. They're needed for tomorrow's meeting.”Sophia’s smile faltered. “But it's five pm.”Mary's face twisted. “Are you saying you can't work on i
CHAPTER 18Sophia's heart skipped a beat. Chris got off her almost immediately, acting as though her touch burned him. The two didn't exchange eye contact with one another. “You can take the bed,” Chris told her, picking a pillow from the bed. “I'd take the couch.”Sophia almost argued. The bed was big enough for the both of them, but after what happened, she wasn't sure if she could handle being near him for the time being. So, she simply nodded her head. “Okay.”Chris went across the room, taking an extra duvet from the closet before setting up the couch. The couch was big, but Chris was a huge man, and she couldn't help but worry that he might find it uncomfortable. “Is something wrong?” His voice broke through her thoughts. She flinched, blinking rapidly before shaking her head sideways. “T— there's nothing wrong,” she replied.“Turn off the lamp then.”“Oh,” she let out and turned it off.She had been so caught in her thoughts that she forgot to turn off the lamp. The moonligh
CHAPTER 11Sophia felt her heart slamming in her ribs, as she fiddled her fingers. The silence stretched through the room and for a few minutes, none of them said a word to each other. She didn't fail to notice the frustration clearly written on his face. The way his jaw clenched, and despite the
CHAPTER 9Sophia was happy that no one in the company knew about her little night stand with the CEO. She didn't even want to show up to work, but Kira convinced me too. She kept talking about how she shouldn't be bothered by it and everyone has sex. It was just some liberal feminism stuff, she cou
CHAPTER 8Sophia couldn't forget the look on Chris’ face after his parents mentioned that they'd have to get married. She didn't want to get married to him, but if that's what it took to have him present in their baby's life then she was willing to comply. Kiran messaged her arms gently. “You don'
